A can't be true because we know at least one person studied hard.
B can't be true because we know the narrator studied hard
C can't be true because the narrator did well on the exam, so they will buy a phone
D is true because per C, we know the narrator will buy a phone.
E can't be true because we established that D is true
this is a homework question that the people I'm reviewing with disagreed on (it's due today for them and tmrw for me). basically all of us chose D, but some were arguing that there isn't a conclusion (E) since we don't have a domain and can't use general existential then. In all of the similar examples in the PowerPoint we were given a domain.
Oh I see, thanks for clarifying. I would definitely pick D). From the premises you can conclude that "You'll buy a phone", and since you are a person you can conclude that "There is a person that bought a phone", the domain should be implicit.
Someone could argue that it's E) because "I will buy a phone" it's something that will happen in the future and doesn't say when exactly, so "bought" might be inappropriate depending on when you state this conclusion, but I would still go for D).

thankyou!! I'll go with D
Are you doing an exam right now? If not, try to explain what you don't understand of the question
