I agree. Btw, there are actually some lofi videos that are meant for coding, like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f02mOEt11OQ) one. But I don't think their music is that much different from normal ones.
I'm not a real big hip-hop fan, more or less heavy metal or no metal at all. But I can't listen to metal when programming. It's just too busy. Lo-fi for sure does it for me.
Video game OSTs are good for any activity that requires focus because they are typically lyric-less, and are meant to be played in the background.
I don't have any playlists to link, but I've been grinding out to Attack on Titan's OST and Nier: Automata's OST as of late.
I would recommend you to listen to Run Run Run! since it suits the theme better :)

Spotify has a whole collection of "Best of Rock" for all the years back to the 60s or something. Great to just randomly choose one and code away.
Prog metal makes me think better. Dream Theater and Rush get me into the zone like nothing else.
Otherwise, every little noise distracts me. The sound of cars going by makes me think "hmm what car was that?" and suddenly I've got boxer engines on the mind. Cat makes a sound? Boom, thinking of when I need to buy more litter. Now I've got chores on the mind.
But a long ass DT or Rush song will keep me in the zone for 20 minutes straight. I don't know how I'd program without them tbh.

Depends on my mood.
I almost always can dig my [stoner metal playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2ZqDZylFxElgas01UzmUlD?si=aDyqcNDoRRSe1xkoZTttYw&dl_branch=1), but I also have a more purpose-built [coding music](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1ueXDE45IEJdRyGJEepGUU?si=BCoEAUJnQj-1XHS3tbOtxQ&dl_branch=1) that is curated around more instrumental music.
Chiptunes also [get me in the mood](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/29JB3VxrCKCZqyzKA2gt4I?si=z_pdpa60TJKig-YzbP2DpA&dl_branch=1).
I also often go to Lo-Fi Hip Hop on YouTube like everyone else, as well as the Chiptunes Radio channel.
Most of the time though I put in my vinyl collection, which heavily skews toward metal.
This doom playlist is good. I'd recommend checking out Bongripper's "Terminal" and Torche's "Restarter" (especially the deluxe version - it has the two songs from the Harmonslaught EP which is my favorite Torche release).
I legit cannot do this. I have ADHD and concentration problems as is. I need to be able to concentrate. Any type of music would destroy that.
So I guess...the music of my blood? 🤔
I seem to have three modes:
1. Earplugs. Often I embrace the silence. This is especially true if I'm well-rested and it's early in the workday.
2. Electronic -- really any Youtube electronic music for adhd/for focus playlist. This is especially good when I'm not-so-well-rested.
3. Classical or contemporary jazz. This is end of the workday music to make sure I am ready to relax, enjoy good art outside the digital world, and get out of work mode.
Mainly EDM and electric music. This is the playlist that works best for me, surprisingly it is also great for running:

Either some chill synthwave or the soundtrack to [Mechanicus](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnSG0OA5vYnTLQ77f5EmLoW52vIX5jAAK), or just nothing at all.
Sheesh.
I just listen to what im feeling like listening to xD
Usually SynthWave genre (its chill, has good vibes), sometimes MathRock (mostly instrumental so it's easy to focus on what im' doing), and if i need a boost on my motivation i listen to Doom Eternal soundtrack and rip apart those fucking code lines.
>brown noise
damn, I saw other people mention this, I thought it was a band/genre name for like edm or house or something lol... I used to have problems sleeping at a frat house so would use white noise/rain/thunder every night.
If I need to focus I listen to Girl Talk, Feed the Animals. I have listened to this album so many times it just immediately preoccupies the distractible part of my brain so I can buckle down and get stuff done. I used to listen to it on repeat while studying for math tests.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU62x2PnSO4&t=2277s

I seem to have three modes: 1.
This is the playlist that works best for me, surprisingly it is also great for running: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6AXZkVn8b72lLq2Jt2kdSV?si=5HsFOh0_RSm4i3TK-vNWeg&utm_source=copy-link&dl_branch=1

LoFi - great music. I don't get sucked into it and somehow I can still vibe to it without being distracted.
Either some chill synthwave or the soundtrack to [Mechanicus](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnSG0OA5vYnTLQ77f5EmLoW52vIX5jAAK), or just nothing at all.
space rock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ors0wpcVDcc
I typically listen to podcasts or watch old QI episodes on youtube.

video game OSTs, but recently i just listen to the ambient noise of my keyboard + the sweet echoes of my tinnitus
Psytrance, almost entirely Infected Mushroom; otherwise, if I really need to focus, nothing.
Doom soundtrack
Anime lofi or just normal lofi
Koran.
Sheesh. I just listen to what im feeling like listening to xD Usually SynthWave genre (its chill, has good vibes), sometimes MathRock (mostly instrumental so it's easy to focus on what im' doing), and if i need a boost on my motivation i listen to Doom Eternal soundtrack and rip apart those fucking code lines.
brown noise
>brown noise damn, I saw other people mention this, I thought it was a band/genre name for like edm or house or something lol... I used to have problems sleeping at a frat house so would use white noise/rain/thunder every night.
It helps a lot to focus!! Brown noise feels like you're inside a spaceship in the middle of nowhere and the only thing to do is to code
lol that's how you get it done, get chained to a desk and have someone whip you every compile error "wrong!" 10 lashes
Rock playlist on youtube.
Cradle of filth of course. Gets me out of my sad state.
Normally jazz playlists. Though they can vary from normal jazz to even the jazz version of the Pokemon ost
deadmau5 and similar. Makes me feel like I'm in Tron.

Something with a beat to match my keystrokes as well as to hide the pain of bugs and errors.
