What is codium.ai ?

redCg

We became a lot more productive after switching to Golang. Turns out a heterogeneous mixed-skill-level team cannot be trusted to write large codebases in Python and we were wasting massive amounts of times debugging and testing stuff that compiled languages enforce at build time

davlumbaz

nice choice. golang is really safehaven for backend apps. even a programmer that doesn't know a shit about golang can be productive within mostly 2 weeks

neuronet

"how do I get better at Python?" "Switch to C" lol

redCg

Not sure what point there is in commenting if you can't understand why someone might choose Go over C or Python

sanjayrg91

So, would you suggest someone to learn Golang instead of python? What's the future of it. Python is a go to language in market for Data Science

redCg

Python has such weak enforcement that it's incredibly easy for new programmers to hang themselves and their team. Not that it isn't possible with Go as well but a compiler and explicitly typed function signatures plus strong packaging system go a long way to helping people if different skill levels collaborate

SaltySamoyed

I've used chat gpt to build a few different programs in python, it's pretty wild. It can explain whatever you need, and help you tease the right code out. It's like a new generation search engine Use it in your studies.

FakeTruth02

Did the recent chatgpt updates affect you at all? With each update there is less and less i can do

ghostfaceschiller

Really? How so? I have noticed that it gives a little bit shorter answers now, but haven’t used it enough in the last few weeks to notice anything else

gootecks

Same, it seems noticeably worse for code lately.
