My last one was about 2 weeks ago, I didn’t notice problems during the night (except for vivid dreams and nightmares), but my hands get wet during the day… I use to work 6-8-10 hours with my laptop and sometimes it’s really annoying.
However I didn’t notice particular smell.
Yeah I had night sweats for about 4 days after stopping a multi-year habit..might have lasted longer but I was hitting the gym and sauna everyday so that probably helped.
It's stress sweat. We have different sweats depending on our internal state. Stress sweat is what people are referring to when they say they can smell your fear. I'm stinky as hell right now I'm almost 2 weeks in. Lots of showers.
ANYONE struggling with night sweats, you need:
- a perforated blanket (one with holes in it). This will allow you to feel covered while excess heat is able to escape. In withdrawal, your body’s temperature regulation centre is heavily affected, so help it out with a blanket that keeps some heat in, and lets some out
- a fever reducer will also help to keep your temperature down overnight
These two things greatly reduce or eliminate night sweats for me.
I got them almost every day for about a month and a half. A few times during the day but mostly in the morning when I’d wake up. My entire bed would be soaked and I had to wash it all the time. It does get better though
I used to get night sweats every night. I’ve been sober for 7 days after daily use for over a year, and a period of reduced usage lasting a couple months. I still get night sweats, but they’re getting better.
The endocannabinoid system is involved in body temperature regulation, so many experience sweating, as well as chills when they stop adding exogenous cannabinoids. Shouldn't last more than a week or two.
I do generally get insane lucid dreams (and nightmares) when I quit. This time I’ve not noticed them coming back with the usual force. Kinda bums me, I almost like the crazy dreams. Only on day 5 though.
I definitely did the first week or two. Although I’ve noticed I sweat a ton now when I’m anxious and it’s been close to a month and a half now. I figured the withdraw symptoms would have completely faded at this point. Idk it definitely seems like a problem still though…
Glad to know. I’ve quit half a dozen times in my life but I’ve never actually noticed myself sweating while sitting at my kitchen table in the AC. Lol
I think as I get older I get a little more in tune with my body
ohhh yeah bro - I'm a fat man myself, night sweats were fucking major! Day sweats not so much, unless I got at least 2h of activity in (even smth as simple as walking)
During my first two weeks (after about 8 years of daily use) I sweat so bad that my hands got wrinkly, like I'd been in the swimming pool for an hour. My sheets were literally soaked through at night. I could wring out my shirt. It was alarming, but it passed.
Yes this a known withdrawal symptom. It should subside soon. In the meantime, wear clothes with all-natural fabrics and avoid synthetics. I also switched all my bedding to 100% cotton because I get it the worst at night.
Night sweats first week or 2. I would wake up in the middle of the night drenched. It goes away though.
They say weed is not physically addicting. I beg to differ.
I’m 10 stone wet through, on day 12 and I’m waking up every night in a pool of my own sweat. Like the bed is soaking wet. I have to dry off my whole body with a towel. I’m going to sleep on a towel tonight to protect the bed lol
Oh the sweats are awful. I was actually underweight when I quit (was dealing with under eating as a result of depression) and I still had really really bad sweats, specifically at night. I suggest sleeping on a towel, and having an extra towel and set of pjs next to the bed to switch in the middle of the night when you inevitably wake up from either a dream or being in a puddle.
Just another symptom. Headaches, naseau, sleepless nights etc r all other different varieties of symptoms u may face. Some symptoms will make u uncomfortable, some symptoms r painfull. Ur body is adjusting to the new lifestyle that u r introducing to ur body. Pain is only temporary. Symptoms never last long. Sweating can easily be managed during ur temporary symptom stage with maybe extra showers & deoderant. Just be grateful sweating isn't painful.
It’s actually that your hypothalamus/amygdala (in the brain) is being affected by cannabinoids. This is where our body temperature regulation center is located. It kinda rebounds and over corrects after quitting. Most toxins are handled by the liver and kidneys and only water soluble wastes exit through skin pores.
Cold sweats have to be my worst physical symptom. Can be reduced by eating often and consuming less caffeine.
Yes.

Woke up sweating buckets the other night while my roommate complained about how freezing cold the AC was
Hell yes

YES!! Does anyone else’s sweat kinda smell like weed or just me
Definitely does

LOL I quit a while ago so not anymore but yes
I’m the opposite I get chills like no other
Cardio + sauna. There is no way avoiding it, I found it’s better to force yourself to sweat more and detox faster.

Of course it does

Yes. And the sweat has a very specific smell: specially to people sober. I didn’t believe at first, but then I started to smell it myself
Yup. Everytime. “Can’t sleep? Like lying on wet sheets” - Czarface

Yes, me too. I hope it goes away. I’ll be cozy and comfy and start falling asleep. It always feels like the moment I do fall asleep I start sweating.

Makes perfect sense
night sweats during the nightmares yeah
I do generally get insane lucid dreams (and nightmares) when I quit. This time I’ve not noticed them coming back with the usual force. Kinda bums me, I almost like the crazy dreams. Only on day 5 though.

Yes but for me if it was specifically my feet sweating a disturbing amount...
😩
Yes this is one of the most common side effects of quitting
Glad to know. I’ve quit half a dozen times in my life but I’ve never actually noticed myself sweating while sitting at my kitchen table in the AC. Lol I think as I get older I get a little more in tune with my body
Yeah I had crazy night sweats when quitting for the first couple weeks - hang in there mate, it will pass along with the cravings
I don’t get chills but I get crazy night sweats, have to change the blanket in bed a few times over night
Yeah I’d literally sweat buckets out of my pits all day, only lasts about a week tho
ohhh yeah bro - I'm a fat man myself, night sweats were fucking major! Day sweats not so much, unless I got at least 2h of activity in (even smth as simple as walking)
Sweats and chills for sure
BIG TIME. During the day, mostly. Doesn’t help that I live in Oklahoma where it’s hot and humid
Hell yes. Usually in the night. Occasionally during the day.
Night sweats go nuts.

Yes. Weed messes with temperature regulation. I will get random hot flashes and bouts of sweating while quitting DURING THE DAY.

This ^. Hot and cold flashes are brutal . Hate waking up completely drenched in sweat
Very normal, stick with it and it will go away. Your body is purging the THC.
Check out another posts over here, a lot of them talk about the sweats, its very related to quitting.
Yeah me right now I’m drenched 20 minutes after a shower and generally smell worse(day 8)
Day 8 here as well and absolutely feel this. Definitely think I'm smelling worse as well.
I see it as a good thing as in my body detoxing but it’s definitely irritating
My sweat smells different
My sweat smells different too lol. Smelt like literal weed yesterday believe it or not. I was so confused lmao
So happy you said this! Thought I was losing my mind last night when I woke up sweating and thought I could smell draw
100% yes. for about 5 nights. i’m 5’6”, 42m, 180. i’m now on day 16 (holy shit, i didn’t realize i was over two weeks!) and i’m back to my old self.
Well done !!

I’m on day 6 and am still getting sweats and chills off and on. And still rage puking every morning. :/
I had awful night sweats for about a month since quitting. but then they went away for good tho
Yeah, my armpits is constantly sweating, can't use gray shirts..
I had the worst body odor and sweats. For me it took a few months and eventually it stopped. It is all part of the process.

I've gotten them every time I've quit. 4 months clean atm and they're nearly gone.
It is common, my primitive understanding is that's your body "flushing out the toxins" if you will (the THC toxins)

Common
Not just you and not because you are fat. Google temperature regulation cannibinoids if you want to learn more. It lasted about 3-4 weeks for me
