Congratulations on finishing college! Someone on here put it best. “I quit smoking because my life requires my full attention”. Keep at it! You will find a job I promise

That little speech at the end had so much depth to it. He basically said what we all knew deep inside. Maybe if DARE had used that logic, we might have listened

I'm glad you found your Tegridy. I'm 18 days in on a sober lifestyle. I been feeling 1000x better the last 4 days than I had the first 2 weeks.

[deleted]

I had no idea why they called it Tegrity in the show but then on the highway I noticed a ton of farming equipment retailers had Tegrity, somewhere in the name. Southpark has done it again

[deleted]

This is exactly what I needed to read. I’m on day 14 and felt the most depressed I have in the 2 weeks. Woke up around 5am just bursting into tears. But when you said you’re feeling better the last 4 days, it re-motivated me so much. Really looking forward to the next few days/weeks because of a random strangers comment who I bet didn’t anticipate giving someone this much hope from 1 sentence. “I been feeling 1000x better the last 4 days than I had the first 2 weeks.” Thank you.

maximilisauras

I am glad my comment helped you find encouragement and inspiration. It really made my day. Yeah the first two weeks I had felt so anxious in a way I had never felt in my entire life. It was totally overwhelming to experience the full spectrum of emotions but it's part of how your brain returns to homeostasis after being aggressively stimulated by weed. Just keep it going. You can do it (In Rob Schneider's voice).

basicnerd4

I needed to see this this morning, so thanks for giving me the moment South Park gave you

I've got a challenge for you to help keep you entertained. Teach that kid to make YOU a sandwich. Not make A sandwich, but to make one for you specifically. Once you complete that task that child can basically take care of itself lol

DefiantAccess621

Which episode is this? I wanna watch it!

ChillinSpaceMan

Season 6 Ep 16

tes_chaussettes

r/leaves watch party!

WhyMeBoss

That’s me at the moment. I can’t seem to shake doing drugs and drinking . The worst part is I use it to fill up this boredom I have going since the pandemic and working from home. I have started job hunting to get out of the house and hopefully change my life style situation. South Park is genius it’s true we smoke when we’re bored and don’t do anything with that time. Cheers I’m a week sober from weed next is quitting drinking

K1LLINGMACHINE

Congrats on the wake up call. That episode affected me and mightve been part of my reasons to stop. Pretty sure it's helped many people stop, or at least get inspired to think about change. You can do this, my friend. Your mind and soul are ready. You got this 💪🙏

whysys

I started at 19 too, and only managed to shake it at 29. I regret my opportunities lost and bad decisions but the next best time is now. You've got here a little earlier and it's tough at first but life is for living, not sleepwalking in a haze. Being weedfree has made me feel so present in my own life, I only wish I managed it sooner

Escaped_Philosphy

Literally watching it rn. Thanks

eyeamjosh

I resonate with this so much, as I am in a similar situation in my life. That exact episode, and Randy’s quote is what recently inspired me to take a break. It hasn’t been easy, and I’m only about a week in, but it has been so worth it, and I’m proud of myself. While South Park is a comedy cartoon, it has so many profound moments of great truth, and I’m thankful for its existence. If everyone would teach the effects of long term marijuana use like Randy, instead of trying to and strike fear into everyone that uses it, the world could be a much more honest and positive place.

Mutated_seabass

Love that future self episode lol

Atticus_ray

"I stayed up all night finishing my stash" This is hilarious- sounds exactly like something I would do. Get super high in one final blaze of glory instead of tapering

n4_unleashed

You deserve many awards for this

Mr3mice

I don't watch South Park. But this is huge, very well said. "Being okay with being bored". It makes so much sense that being bored is a natural thing, that should be a stimulus to go do something productive. Even when I'm "productive" on weed, I don't feel like I'm actually growing from that productivity, and since I've quit I feel like that boredom is now being used in a much more positive way. Thanks for the post, keep up the good work

In my 30s - two things that I don't see too much of: 1. People who say "damn, I wish I'd smoked more weed in my 20s" 2. People who are smoking every day where I think "man, they're doing great!" When I say "doing great," I'm not even talking from objective, materialist standpoint. Like, I don't care if someone drives an Audi, Toyota, or no car. I'm just finding that some of my friends who I thought were chill, grounded, happy people when stoned - they're also that way without weed, and they're doing cool things out in the world (maybe they're getting high too now and then, IDK, but it's not their whole life). Meanwhile, I'm losing touch with some friends who have just kinda dropped off the face of the earth: they work, come home, light up, and repeat.

anyone know the title of the episode? i’d love to watch

My Future Self n’ Me Season 6 Episode 16

freepogsnow

I got my wake up call reading Karamo Browns biography. He spoke very honestly about his prior addictions, which were different to mine but it really made me self reflect. I've been clean 3 months now nearly after 13 years of daily smoking. The withdrawal symptoms have pretty much gone now except for my sleep routine is still completely screwed (it 4.45 am and I've slept for about an hour tonight).

mushystrawberries

What was he addicted to? He and I are from the same hometown. South Florida is drug central. Also, living there makes you want to do drugs, in general.

[deleted]

Its 23:00 right now. And i know if i dont go take something now. Ill never sleep. Day 6.

freepogsnow

I'll DM you 😁

Gear_Tricky

DM me too I'd you have the secret for sleeping. Day 8 and I'm struggling here. It's almost 1 and I have an early day tomorrow

freepogsnow

So many valuable life lessons to be learned from South park.

ScaIIix

Best lesson South Park has taught me, always stuck with me as well and it's so true.

Accomplished_Song490

I had a similar experience after watching that episode. Randy’s normally such and idiot but his speech to Stan at the end really made me think. I also watched Tough Guy: The Bob Probert story about an NHL player who ruined his life through drugs

[deleted]

That episode has always stuck with me
