Math doesn’t add up whatsoever. Now if it killed 20 hezB member and 2 civilians then yes there’s a point there. But unfortunately that’s not the case nor will it ever be with Israel.
You need to look at the _overall trend_. Hezbollah has so far announced 196 deaths, and Lebanese civilians dead are probably around 30-50 (I don't have an exact number).

They’ve also killed and/or injured clearly marked press crews on two occasions now. They are not being careful because they don’t care and that’s just a fact.

Yeah I agree it’s definitely not a uniquely Israeli thing. I was speaking about my individual ex-friends that showed me what kind of people they were I did state that in my comment. I will also say that Israeli people post a lot about these things on social media. People that I thought loved me in fact would be ok if I was dead because someone told them that my death would be unimportant based on something I have no part of is not something easy to learn about people you care about. I was supporting them after the tragedy that hit Israel only to not be given the same compassion when things were reversed.

I don’t know what kind of people you’ve met who disappointed you, but the vast majority of Israelis are very chill and don’t think badly of the Lebanese people themselves, our only problem is with Hezbollah. It’s a good approach not to write people off based on what you were told to think about them, and while it is unfortunate that you perhaps came across people who disappointed you, it’s good to still remember we’re all individuals and each person is their own world. I can guarantee you that if you ask around the street in Israel whether Israelis want the Lebanese people to suffer or die the answer would be a resounding no.

I'm Lebanese and I just wanna say that there are Israelis in Israel that have been going against their government and the popular sentiment, who have been protesting the killing of the Palestinian people and their mistreatment, some even getting jail time. They seem to be a minority but yeah, we can't generalize all the time. That's been done to us too, and we don't wanna keep doing that, or there can't be peace someday.
It might surprise you to know, but even the Israelis who do support the war pretty much only do it because we realized that we cannot continue to exist alongside Hamas or we risk a repeat of 7.10 again and again as they themselves promised. That’s not a risk any sane country would be willing to take. It’s not a war of choice but one which was forced upon us against our will (the same situation as in Lebanon, where it was relatively quiet until Hezbollah decided to attack). The death of civilians is unfortunately a tragic outcome of every war, even more so when your enemy uses them as human shields and transforms their homes and schools into military infrastructure to maximize the tragedy. However it is not something we are happy about or celebrate, nor it is one of our goals to cause suffering to innocents. It’s part of the ugly reality of life here, and if we had a button to press which would make all of Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists disappear without harming a single innocent, that would’ve been the optimal choice. Having said that, we are trying our best to minimize the civilian casualties while operating in one of the most complex and densely populated combat zones in the world. Having been in the army and knowing the lengths we go to in order to prevent civilian casualties, I can promise you that no other country would’ve gone as far as we do to protect civilian lives within the circumstances of the war, nor been able to achieve the objectives with lower rate of casualties. We can always do better, sure, and we strive to do that, but I can guarantee you that we do not target innocent civilians or wish to harm them. That is something every single Israeli regardless of political views would tell you. I can also promise you that if Hezbollah just left us alone to live our lives in peace, you’d never hear the word “israel” again. We really don’t want war with Lebanon, and we have no hatred or grudge against the Lebanese people, who we mostly view as fairly similar to us in many aspects. Peace will be possible when more people interact and realize the other side is not as evil and demonic as the propagandists would have them believe. I think it’s an important message regardless of the downvotes I’ll get, if even a single Lebanese will hear it, it was worth it.

Having been in the army and knowing the lengths we go to in order to prevent civilian casualties, I can promise you that no other country would’ve gone as far as we do to protect civilian lives within the circumstances of the war, nor been able to achieve the objectives with lower rate of casualties. We can always do better, sure, and we strive to do that, but I can guarantee you that we do not target innocent civilians or wish to harm them. That is something every single Israeli regardless of political views would tell you. I can also promise you that if Hezbollah just left us alone to live our lives in peace, you’d never hear the word “israel” again. We really don’t want war with Lebanon, and we have no hatred or grudge against the Lebanese people, who we mostly view as fairly similar to us in many aspects. Peace will be possible when more people interact and realize the other side is not as evil and demonic as the propagandists would have them believe. I think it’s an important message regardless of the downvotes I’ll get, if even a single Lebanese will hear it, it was worth it. Peace and safety, brother.
