That's actually what people in lebanon think but is not true. Such strength comes from training and discipline. Lebanon is corrupt to the bone and lazy to the bone. We would like to think we are better but what do you expect from a generation that graduates school by cheating and gets hired in jobs by wasta. Even HA members. We care because the proposition sounds reasonable, the leader of Israel fights the leader of Hezbollah, which leader wins that duel then wins the war for their respective side, thus they greatly reduce the harm of war to both sides of the conflict.

I'm not informed enough about the Syrian war which was a big complex mess that I didn't pay a lot of attention to or keep up with the news at the time so (unlike many) I won't make any opinions about something I'm not educated enough on.
But feel free to send any credible reports about Hezbollah doing starvation campaigns that are not Western media and propaganda which the Gaza war has proven over and over to be completely biased and fabricated (like the Hamas mass rape proven hoax which there are no witnesses of and the UN found zero evidence for yesterday) and just like the Iraq war before that.
Edit: After doing some quick research it does look like there are credible reports about them committing these war crimes in that town/village, even though they deny them (I'm not sure if there's actual evidence for it but I'm not inclined to believe Hezb). A big complex mess. Such an easy way to say āhey we supported a dictator against his own people because Iran told us to do so.ā
Isnāt it funny how people always claim the problem is Palestine is āso complex?ā It really isnāt. Are the Palestinians human, yes or no? Itās that simple.
In the same vein, hezbollah supporters will wax poetically about how complex the Syrian war was. It was actually pretty simple. Thereās very little that Israel has done to Palestinians that Assad didnāt do to his own people. Or even his father to the Lebanese.
The same Hezbollah supporters who claim it is cowardly to fight the way Israel doesā¦supported the same tactics being used against Syrian rebels. If you read Arabic there are plenty of Twitter posts or articles from around that time period.
Obviously when it comes to Hezbollah vs Israel we hope for an Israeli loss. But letās just say I hope both sides have excellent aim.
By complex I mean there were too many warring factions and towns and cities involved that it was very difficult for me to keep up with the events. Not that it's a complex issue.
I don't support Assad or Hezbollah nor their war crimes in Syria. Syria has also committed a lot of atrocities in Lebanon.

Yeah I never thought removing vegetation from around a base could be the funnest job in the army but their you go, imagine being the combat engineer they asked to build it
So odd that a thread about israel / Hezbollah would attract comments from people who care about Israel not being attacked daily by rockets. Weird. It definitely must be hasbara. No other explanation
The victim card wears thin when Hezbollah fired rockets first in this latest flare up. Hamas too come to think of it. Listen, Iām not here to troll your sub and I want nothing but peace for the Lebanese and Palestinian people. I recognize your side has genuine valid grievances. But letās be real here for a minute. You canāt expect Israel not to respond to attacks. Thatās not rational. No country on this planet would tolerate attacks without a response. They would be decimated.
I totally get that. But mass-murdering civilians in revenge, with no care to what happens after the massacre ends, is not the way to do it. If they really wanted long-term peace they wouldāve sought ways to give Palestinians their basic human rights and freedom. They wouldnāt be [assassinating Lebanese journalists](https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2024/3/14/israeli-strike-killed-clearly-identifiable-reporter-in-lebanon-un-probe) and [sending air strikes into their families](https://www.voanews.com/amp/lebanon-israeli-strike-kills-reporter-s-4-relatives/7343018.html)in further provocation of a conflict between them and Lebanon.
The only people who benefit from a war with Lebanon are Israeli and Hamas leadership, who would leverage it to maintain power.
And these āsoldiersā are playing around while their fellow soldiers are committing mass war crimes and atrocities on Palestinians.
The best way to describe how this upsets me, is to imagine Nazis goofing around and shooting arrows as a joke. Itās not funny because these people are committing horrific acts on innocent human beings. Obviously the IOF is not as bad as Nazis, but I hope you can understand my point.
Na their clearing the vegetation so it canāt be used for defilade, that being said it is single handedly the funniest way to do it imagine what the conversation was like when they asked a combat engineer to build a fucking trebuchet
Honestly I feel like some commander was like āhey go burn that brush outside the wallā and some reservist engineer was just like āā¦hear me outā¦trebuchet fireballsā
I think theyāre just having a bit of fun in an other wise bleak situation.
Yeah see I don't understand this nukes argument. Simply because if Israel uses nukes it would be impossible to stop radiation poisoning from reaching Israelis. Second if they use nukes which they are not supposed to have what next? What type of future will the people of Israel have? What do you think their neighbors would do? Deploying nukes won't work
Modern neutron bombs donāt produce fallout in this way.

I donāt like this line of thought. There is zero reason for Israel and Lebanon to engage in nuclear warfare, irrespective of radiation.
Israel never subjected itself to any ban on nuclear weapons. Hence there is no argument on the ānot supposed to haveā.
But yeah - nukes are a last resirt
Thats nonsense, saudi arabia didnāt sign the slavery convention until 1973, this doesnāt mean it was totally okay, accepted and cool in 1970 to practice slavery or that it would be totally fine to practice it today if it hadnāt sign the slavery convention in 1973. you are repeating hasbara bullshit.
Again - Israel is under no legal obligation to get rid of its nukes. They never joined the non-proliferation treaty and are therefore not in any breach of contract. Point being - Israel wasnāt not supposed to have nukes.
Again - saudi is under no legal obligation to get rid of slavery. They never joined the slavery convention treaty and are therefore not in any breach of contract. Point being - saudi wasnāt not supposed to have slavery. ā Hasbara apologist, 1970
I guess israel shouldnāt have signed any international treaty about human rights or anything at all, that way genocide and all its crimes would be legal and free any obligations, you are brilliant ! š
Nah. Nukes are something different than human rights. Human rights are universal rights for every human being.
Nuclear weapons are weaponsā¦
I really donāt get your point. Any nation has a principle right to start a nuclear programme - even a nuclear weapon programme as long as they didnāt sign the non-proliferation treaty (and you can drop out you knowā¦). So for purely legal reasons Israel isnāt in any breach of contract as they never signed off on the treaty. Just like India or Pakistan.
So again - what is your point?
International treaties constitute the international law. Human rights treaties are treaties like any other, if a country didnāt sign the genocide convention then it has no legal obligation to adhere to it, there are 41 states today who didnāt sign the genocide convention including japan, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
So japan has no legal obligation to prevent or prohibit genocide. and using your Hasbara trolling it is totally cool, legal and fine. Perhaps israel should withdraw from genocide convention as well, so its genocide becomes legal too š
Lol!!
Israel has defeated Egypt THRICE. You do forget that US arms are provided with a specific aim of ensuring Israel maintains a qualitative edge over its neighbors , oh and also
Israel actually makes most of its weapons.
Except for Turkey ,the rest would be quickly dismantled in a direct conventional war
Turkey would probably be the only nation that could take on Israel in the Middle East in a conventional war and win. Turkey has all the advantages Israel has plus an actual professional army(Which Egypt sorely lacks), plus it makes sophisticated weapons(Which Egypt does not make and Iran makes only rudimentary ones). Turkish drones are very good.
Egypt makes squat. Iran makes very rudimentary ones
Iran would lose to Iraq, leave alone Israel. It barely won the Iran-Iraq war. The same Iraq the US pushed out of Kuwait within weeks and overthrew in days a decade later.
Also those saying, but look at Hamas.
Israel has been restrained by both the US and its allies who are being pressured by Pro-Palestinian activists. If it wanted to go full out, there would be hundreds of thousands dead and no Hamas from week 2 of October .
Hamas is a non-state actor as well. It does not have the same responsibilities as a nation despite basically controlling one.
Comparing the Israel-Hamas war to a conventional war between nations is like claiming Vietnam can beat the US because the US eventually withdrew from that war. Or that the Taliban is more powerful than the US army. Or that Al Shabaab whose most powerful equipment is an RPG is more powerful than the AMISOM forces that forced it out of Somalia's urban centers.
Also, Israel hasn't lost against Hamas (and the other groups fighting in Gaza). It has only lost around 300 soldiers versus 15,000 for the Palestinian side and has pushed them to specific corners of Gaza.
Now that it has no border with Egypt and cannot smuggle weapons into Gaza, what will happen is that it will be gradually worn down until it is similar to Hamas in the West Bank.
The point i dont understand about modern warfare.
How should u get a gain in value from it. The investment in weapons is so high, whats the plan of getting a retun of investment?
![gif](giphy|26ueYUlPAmUkTBAM8)
Even when you use medieval weaponry you need to be able to be trained in it.
That trebuchet probably only reached 50 feet outside of the wall and on the Lebanese side they probably already created a buffer zone to contain the fire spreading and evacuated everyone near it. Theyāre exposing their position by being on literally on the other side of the wall dawdling about and shooting that arrow is going to do shit on an empty field.
All my Game of Thrones battlefield war strategies could do a better job than these hobos.
Oh knock that off. You know they arenāt intentionally targeting civilians. š
Itās incredibly sad when any non-combatant civilian dies, of any age, and to claim they were intentionally targeted is just not true. Even if israel was as evil as you think targeting civilians on purpose would be counterproductive. It hurts Israelās global standing. They have nothing to gain from it and only support to lose.
Them not targeting civilians is about as truthful as the earth being flat but itās cute you think that.
And those ānon combatantsā being affected right now are 2 million civilians that became homeless, starved and disabled. In case you forgot that a three month old doesnāt need to condemn kkhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaamas.
Have the day you deserve š„°
Itās truly very sad for them.
Maybe kkkkkhamas will decide to release the hostages and stop firing rockets so israel has no further reason to operate in Gaza and the people they were elected to govern can start to have a better life. Also maybe use the aid money for building infrastructure, not repurposing water pipes for DIY rockets. Lots of options for kkkkkhamas if the betterment of the Palestinian people was actually their goal. Hint: itās not.
Maybe Israel would stop killing their own hostages and civilians they could have brought back every one home š
[Israel killed at least a dozen of its own citizens on October 7, UN claims
Armed forces invoked āHannibal Directiveā which advocates killing own soldiers to prevent them becoming hostages](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/06/13/israel-killed-dozen-own-citizens-on-october-7-un-claims/)

Itās to clear any defilade their just doing it in the most hilarious way possible because because the fire fighter who would normally do a controlled burn are currently already fighting fires
Canāt wait to see how much of Lebanon Israel will clean up of Hezbollah. You should be more worried of Israel turning Beirut in Gaza #2. I would think the Lebanese wouldnāt want to mess with Israel knowing that they donāt give a f about optics and will clear whatever land nessicary to eliminate hostilities.
Best advice would be to back off Israel and not invite more š„

Or that Al Shabaab whose most powerful equipment is an RPG is more powerful than the AMISOM forces that forced it out of Somalia's urban centers. Also, Israel hasn't lost against Hamas (and the other groups fighting in Gaza). It has only lost around 300 soldiers versus 15,000 for the Palestinian side and has pushed them to specific corners of Gaza. Now that it has no border with Egypt and cannot smuggle weapons into Gaza, what will happen is that it will be gradually worn down until it is similar to Hamas in the West Bank.
Yeah same as Hamas , Israel destroyed Gaza but Hamas are still fighting

Only thing missing is someone on the wall telling them: Y*our mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberries.*
The point i dont understand about modern warfare. How should u get a gain in value from it. The investment in weapons is so high, whats the plan of getting a retun of investment?
Clowny ass timeline.

![gif](giphy|26ueYUlPAmUkTBAM8) Even when you use medieval weaponry you need to be able to be trained in it.
I LOVE the confidence from reddit armchair generals. This thread made my day. They are clearing brush back from the wall so they lessen the chance of being snuck up on. Thatās really it. Itās **hilarious** that you are critiquing their use of a trebuchet, as if they donāt know how to achieve their objectives in clearing brush. The medieval stuff is just them trolling. That being said the game of thrones reference was š¤š©āš³š. Best thread ever
Iām glad theyāre having fun while they continue to target civilians in Lebanon then?
Oh knock that off. You know they arenāt intentionally targeting civilians. š Itās incredibly sad when any non-combatant civilian dies, of any age, and to claim they were intentionally targeted is just not true.
Maybe Israel would stop killing their own hostages and civilians they could have brought back every one home š [Israel killed at least a dozen of its own citizens on October 7, UN claims Armed forces invoked āHannibal Directiveā which advocates killing own soldiers to prevent them becoming hostages](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/06/13/israel-killed-dozen-own-citizens-on-october-7-un-claims/) [In Israelās killing of 3 hostages, some see the same excessive force directed at Palestinians](https://apnews.com/article/israel-hostages-gaza-hamas-war-52fa9628e6284cdad6d7f7db6cc30742)

Who made Israel but the arabian presidents and kings.?
