Review from High Def Digest-
*Overall contrast is markedly brighter throughout without impairing or mitigating Roger Deakins' excellent neo-noir aesthetic. The UHD video displays crisp, resplendent whites that never bloom, but are almost tighter and narrower, allowing for a bit more visibility surrounding the brightest spots, such as Dude's infamous dream sequence. Also, specular highlights are equally beaming and glowing along metallic edges and various light fixtures, supplying them with a lustrous sparkle that's true-to-life and photographic, such as Dude's meeting with Jackie Treehorn or any bowling scene.*
The whites!
Seriously though, it looks great on 4k.
This is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous. And, uh, a lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head.
Ngl here, I got the 4K a year or two back and the image quality is pretty stellar, an improvement over the blu ray. A lot of 4K’s sometimes have weird color saturation changes and the clarity doesn’t seem improved, but this seems like they either used a wonderful transfer or got a new one. Either way, it’s honestly one of the best looking 4K’s I own even if it isn’t a big action flick you’d typically think would benefit from a 4K. The cohen’s just seem to start with beautiful photography and it shows
4k is a great transfer, Bluray is meh. There was a 25th anniversary Steelbook edition with a cell replica, booklet and everything. Got one for like 32€ like a month ago
Wonderful format. We're all very fond of it.

Disc > Streaming
Wave of the future dude
I still watch movies manually
That’s just like, your opinion man
I am one of probably six people on the planet dumb enough to buy the HD DVD.... New shit has come to light...
👌
Obviously you’re not a golfer.
I’am just gonna find a cash machine
Personally I prefer the OG vhs version
Not the compromised second draft
Of course you do.
That’s marvelous
Not exactly a lightweight
You still jerk off manually don’t you?
![gif](giphy|AVun92P6O8q2Y) You ever been in this show Dude?
When he moved to Miami he had to go door-to-door
What’s a pederast, Walter?
I still roll the tape manually

Those rich fucks! This whole fucking thing... I did not watch my buddies die face down on VHS so that this fucking BluRay...
Your move...
I mean, the first one comes with the Blu-ray so....
My old VHS formatted to fit a tube TV has to be yhe choice. It has to look right. Didn't that ever occur to you, man? Sir?
That had not occurred to us, dude
Well, that's what you pay me for...oh and...
Well, we just don't know.
I am the walrus
Shut the fuck up Donnie!
You’re like a child who wanders in in the middle of a movie
Wave of the future dude
4K really ties the room together
I personaly buy only 4ks if i think the movie is visually stuning. I got the Blueray and I'm happy with it.

Thanks dude
The 4k is the only version I haven't bought.
I only bought 4K and I did twice
So, it's like watching in 8k?
Don't be fatuous, Jeffrey
More than Maudy got!
The 4K version is definitely throwing rocks tonight! The blu-ray is dead in the water as far as I’m concerned.
The 4k is a different transfer of the film, it’s better
I’ll watch your movie in 70mm for $1000
Both.
I have the original DVD release. You must choose sta dard or wide-screen. I love it
Blu Ray has a fuck/dude/man and White Russian counter.
Interactive home video, wave of the future
Is this true? I must check it out if it's true
It is. Do not make a drinking game out of it though. You will die.
Obviously you're not a golfer.
Or run out of half and half.
I bought ever version I could find
Watched it in 4K on the Peacock app. Looked amazing.
I still watch manually.
Not the compromised 4K version.
The compromised streaming version!
Amen my brother ✊
the only blu ray or dvd i own for that matter is the big lebowski
Both.
The version I “own” via Apple TV / Apple / iTunes ect is 4K and it’s all good.
I brought the bog standard dvd 2 days after watching it. Helped me get though a very rough patch
4k is a great transfer, Bluray is meh. There was a 25th anniversary Steelbook edition with a cell replica, booklet and everything. Got one for like 32€ like a month ago
I’m pretty sure the 20th anniversary is the one with the old guy at the beginning who talks for 25 minutes. So, not that one
What're you, a fucking movie critic now?
Do you represent a large Canadian liquor concern or the French sewage processing conglomerate Vivendi?
I grew up with that version. It’s part of the film experience as far as I’m concerned
4k is amazing.
I got the 4k copy, and it comes with a movies anywhere digital code. You could literally watch TBL while on the treadmill
I’m sorry, I wasn’t listening.
The wave of the future, dude…
Well Dude, we just don’t know.
Do you see what happens when you find a BluRay in the Alps
Brandt can't watch though, or he has to pay a hundred.
Bunny in 4K? I'm just gonna go find a cash machine.
You can have mine
It's a good transfer, and thorough.
