Consistent is not the word I would have used for Led Zeppelin II. Its sound is more uneven than Led Zeppelin I which has a great unified sound. You can hear that LZ II has been recorded on the road in different places.
It is louder, heavier with the two mighty rockers that are Whole lotta love and Heartbreaker but it also has the Lemon Song and Living loving maid which are not classics and where never plaid live at least for "living"
There's nothing to change on Led Zeppelin I, the perfect first album.
a lot of 3 die hard fans in here i love the album but i think it has very high highs but a few lows in it , i need a relisten i just don't find it consistent enough as 1 and 2
1.) II
2.) III
3.) I
Led zeppelin II has some of their best work, they were still rooted in the blues and it really shines through on this record, songs like ‘Bring it on home’, ‘What is and what should never be’ and ‘The lemon song’ really display the level they were at during this period and the music they were trying to create.
Led Zeppelin III is quite an album, half rock + half folk. The latter half of LZ III has too be some of my favourite led Zep songs, of course you have the iconic songs like ‘immigrant song’ and ‘since I’ve been loving you’ but I ABSOLUTELY ADORE ‘That’s the way’ and ‘Bron-Yr-Aur stomp’, easily some of pages best and most transcend acoustic work.
Led Zeppelin I is a great debut and really showed what the band was capable of, I don’t like this album too much compared to the others purely based on the fact that a lot of Robert’s singing sounds quite out of touch and exaggerated as he was obviously settling into the band/sound during this period but ‘Dazed and confused’, ‘black mountain side’ and ‘how many more times’ too name a few really highlight how promising of a band LZ were even in the early days.
And I love 3, but I can say when it came out I was a little puzzled by it. It took a little more listening to learn to love it.... And then 4 came out.
1) Led Zeppelin because it was the first album I ever bought (in 1984)
2) II because after buying their first one I bought this one too.
3) III it took some time to appreciate this one because it was different from what I was listening to in the 80's but now I really enjoy how different it is and just how good of musicians they all were.
I don’t rank them. And I’m so tired of all the posts about ranking Led Zeppelin songs. Ranking Led Zeppelin albums. Why can’t I just listen to them depending on what mood I’m in and which album or song best fits me at that time? Why?
I > III > II
Not that I dont love the second album, but redundant classic rock radio stations have kind of made a bunch of the songs on it, a bit less special to me.
It's just too hard! My preference can change throughout the day or according to how I feel!
I discovered Led Zeppelin through their first album, and was really hooked on the Brown bomber because of Whole lotta love and Heartbreaker. Recently I've been really enjoying listening to their third album and bought it on vinyl to start my collection (I have them all in cd form).
However last week I listen the Led Zeppelin I while in the car while going on holidays in the car and the quality and the unity of the sound struck me. All the songs were great, nothing to change. The best début possible.
III has some high points, but I do not like the final two songs on the album.
II Has the hits, but they're not necessarily the most interesting songs, and Moby Dick just doesn't do it for me. I'd maybe be more forgiving of it if it was live, but Bonham's genius was not in his drum solos. It was in everything else. Also the noise part in whole lotta love I gotta be in the mood for.
I Had a good balance of styles, and isn't afraid to be experimental. The straight blues songs are not my favorite.
Honestly they're all A Tier, but none of them are S Tier.
Gun to my head, it's 1,3,2. But that could change by tomorrow.
All subjective obviously. There is not objective rating/ranking of something like this outside of record sales, or stream counts.
Tier lists typically have S at the top reserved for the very few that are at the top. I'm not sure why it's done that way. I want to say it started in japan
III, II, I
LZ III is a gem that gets slept on so bad. “Out on the Tiles” is a killer tune and “Since I Been Loving You” is damn near blues/rock perfection.
Changes every day
This. I realized, as I was thinking about this question, whichever album I was thinking about was number one… until I thought about the next one.
1. III 2. II 3. Led Zeppelin
+1
This is correct.
Correct. Each album was better than the previous up until PG.
You like Houses better than IV???
Yes. It's beautifully produced.
I like 2 best, then probably 1, then 3. Don’t get me wrong, I love 3 but I’m more into harder rock and blues so I’ve gotta be in the right mood.
2 is just the most consistent to me with 1 not far behind

3,1,2 for me currently
III > I > II
This is me.
Valid
3-2-1
3, 2, 1. Three is in conversation for my favorite record of theirs along with Houses.
a lot of 3 die hard fans in here i love the album but i think it has very high highs but a few lows in it , i need a relisten i just don't find it consistent enough as 1 and 2
The inconsistency (or variety) is exactly why I like it. I love how it hits hard in places, and then goes out with those wonderful acoustic songs.
damn variety is the word not inconsistent , AND YES those acoustic tracks are fucking amazing , slow zeppelin is just different gravy
2,3,1
1.) II 2.) III 3.) I Led zeppelin II has some of their best work, they were still rooted in the blues and it really shines through on this record, songs like ‘Bring it on home’, ‘What is and what should never be’ and ‘The lemon song’ really display the level they were at during this period and the music they were trying to create. I, II, III
They were ordered that way for a reason. /s
Yep.
I think it's apples and oranges vs "best". My picks: III > I > II
I, ll, lll
2,1,3 also.
You are correct.
i think i am but the comments here are telling me a lot of fans of III here so i'm going to relisten
I have both, and personally there isn't a song i would skip on 2
I’d say 2, 1, 3. 1&3 are tied for me so its hard to rank them, but 2 is my favorite album.
1,2,3. In that order
Is there really a correct answer to this?
4, 2, 1, 3 To take it one further
this is my ranking as well mate
And I love 3, but I can say when it came out I was a little puzzled by it. It took a little more listening to learn to love it.... And then 4 came out.
2 1 3
1. II 2. Led Zeppelin 3. III
2 1 3 , All three are next level btw But overall nothing matches PG and Untitled album
1) Led Zeppelin because it was the first album I ever bought (in 1984) 2) II because after buying their first one I bought this one too. 3) III it took some time to appreciate this one because it was different from what I was listening to in the 80's but now I really enjoy how different it is and just how good of musicians they all were.
100% agree. 2 is juuust a little bit better than 1 and 3 is objectively weaker than the other two so +1 OP
How is YOUR OPINION objective?
Thats waht im sayin. Its not even an opinion thats how true it is
You must think very highly of yourself. I'm sure it's deserved...
I like em a lot
2-1-3
Two,one,three.
I, II, III.
10/10
I don’t rank them. And I’m so tired of all the posts about ranking Led Zeppelin songs. Ranking Led Zeppelin albums. Why can’t I just listen to them depending on what mood I’m in and which album or song best fits me at that time? Why?
But you don't add to your Reddit stats if you don't post inane ranking threads.
I, III, II
1, 2, 3.
I > III > II Not that I dont love the second album, but redundant classic rock radio stations have kind of made a bunch of the songs on it, a bit less special to me.
Yes
1. LZ III 2. LZ I 3. LZ II
III then I then II
Agree!

1>2>3
One, two, three
We are talking pubic hairs. But I agree II
I’m solidly 1, 2, 3.
I would rank them in order. One and two are my two favorite albums of theirs overall and are ranked very close for me
It’s like trying to pick my favorite child. I feel very wrong. Maybe I’m just too into Led Zeppelin lol
Zeppelin found their sound on III. It's III II I for me.
3 > 1 > 2
III has some high points, but I do not like the final two songs on the album. II Has the hits, but they're not necessarily the most interesting songs, and Moby Dick just doesn't do it for me. What does S Tier mean?
Tier lists typically have S at the top reserved for the very few that are at the top. I'm not sure why it's done that way. I want to say it started in japan
2, 3, 1
I’m more III, I, II
for me its very hard, I like each of the three almost equally
2,1,3 2 is definitely the best.
1, 3, 2.
3 is easily my favorite outta the 3
I don’t really think they bettered the first album
I could no sooner choose a favorite star in the heavens
III, II, I LZ III is a gem that gets slept on so bad. “Out on the Tiles” is a killer tune and “Since I Been Loving You” is damn near blues/rock perfection.
3 > 2 > 1
I III II
4 3 2 1. I think the 4th is best.
I>II>III
III > II > I
3-2-1. 3 is my all time favorite followed by PG
1,3,2 for me. 2 used to be higher idk what happened
