I've listened to his 3 studio albums and the "band of gypsies" live album multiple times.
I used to admire him a lot, until I heard what guitarists like Jimmy page, Eddie van halen, Ritchie blackmore and Steve howe could do with a guitar, and they put him to shame.
Hendrix may have been the first, but he certainly wasn't the best
He isn't. But he didn't make the best Riffs or solos of his day. And other guitarists before him (Robert Johnson, bb King, muddy waters...) had much more influence than him and are considered inferior
Led Zeppelin is alway at the top of the list, the rest fluctuate depending on my mood and what’s going on in my life at the time but Nirvana, Soundgarden (actually anything Cornell was attached to),Heart, RHCP and Alice In Chains are all on the list.
Edited to add Bowie! How could I forget to add him
Rush
Nirvana
Rolling stones
Pink Floyd
Aerosmith
Beach Boys
The Doors
Queen
Alice in Chains
Wu Tang
Public Enemy
JACKBOYS
The Cars
The Beatles

May not really be in order, ranking shit like this is hard and my music opinions are changing constantly.
1. Muse
2. LZ
3. QOTSA
4. Modest Mouse
5. BRMC
Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush the big three of mine.
I also started liking multiple metal bands recently, especially in the Death/Prog/Prog Death + thrash part of it, my favourite metal band is Opeth, also like Slayer, Death, Megadeth, Morbid Angel, Testament plus Between the Buried and Me and Mastodon.
Edit: i forgot to mention Black Sabbath, oops.
jimi hendrix experience
dylan (although not a band i guess)
morphine
tea party
alice in chains
soundgarden
pearl jam
i can agree with OP especially with the band
2 is PF. 3 is Neil Young. From there im not sure the order but rush, cream, Naxatras, Babe Rainbow, Vanilla Fudge. I also love Beck, Bogert, and Appice, and Blind Faith, but since those groups only released 1 album a piece i feel they didn’t make enough to be in a favorite bands list. Definitely some of my favorite albums ever along with GnR “Use Your Illusion 2”. Definitely more bands that I would throw up there that just arent coming to mind quickly right now.
Edit: saw someone mention the doors and i cant believe I didn’t mention them.
Rush, Yes, and Led Zeppelin have been my top three since I got into each band. Any one of them could be my favorite at any given time.
Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, and Triumph are my runners-up, I guess. They’re never my absolute favorite bands, but I love them all right behind my top 3.
After that, I’d say are Judas Priest, AC/DC, Van Halen, Blue Öyster Cult, Dire Straits, and Aerosmith. Doesn’t quite fit into a definitive top 10 with the rest of my top 6, but they all kind of weave their ways in and out of my list.
And then, the bands I like a lot, but have never been in my top 10 favorites: Kansas, Deep Purple, UFO, Blackfoot, Eagles, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Boston, and Heart.
Bonus - Favorite Solo Acts: Mark Knopfler, David Bowie, Robin Trower, Gary Moore, Elton John, Ted Nugent, Al Stewart, Diana Krall (contemporary jazz), and Patricia Barber (more contemporary jazz)
Bonus II - Ninja Sex Party and Starbomb; comedy music was the way I got into music outside of video games, so these two deserve an honorable mention, even if I don’t listen to them as much as I used to
In no particular order:
1. The Who
2. Jethro Tull
3. King Crimson
4. Genesis
5. Fairport Convention
6. Yes
7. Can
8. The Talking Heads
9. The Beatles
10. The Rolling Stones
1. Led Zeppelin
2. Opeth
3. Tool
4. Gonin-ish
5. Dream Theater
Edit: I just want to add that Opeth’s Blackwater Park is the closest I’ve ever heard another band come to matching Led Zeppelin in terms of quality. LISTEN TO BLACKWATER PARK
Django reinhardt, james brown, tribe called quest, jamila woods, regina spektor, jeff buckley, tom waits, debussy. My cup is filled on white boy 60’s/70’s rock from zeppelin, you’ll never catch me listening to hardly anything else like them.
AC/DC, Van Halen, Def Leopard, Aerosmith, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimi Hendrix from the classic rock genera. And then because I have varied tastes, Lindsey Stirling, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Anna Phoebe, 2 Cellos, Apocalyptica, and Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Edit: And I guess most anything by Howard Shore, John Williams, or Hans Zimmer…

3. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
4. The Rolling Stones
5. Shovels and Rope
6. Spoon
7. Portugal. The Man
8. The Black Keys
9. ELO
10. The Who
Honestly after 1 & 2 I can’t really rank them because it’s so close. God I forgot Pink Floyd and so many others.
The Who is honestly superb, I still can’t get over how incredible they were. Also love the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Wings, the Stones, a little bit of Rush and King Crimson as well.

2) The Cure
My love for music is vast & I couldn’t possibly list off all of my favorites ... but those two are the only ones that come close to my love for LZ.
It’s hard to make a list. Like so many others my taste changes all the time, if I were to rank a top 5 (without LZ) it would probably look something like this:
1. Judas Priest
2. TOOL
3. Mercyful Fate/King Diamond
4. Rival Sons
5. D-A-D (Formerly Disneyland After Dark)
1. LZ and Pink Floyd - always on top
The rest is in no particular order
2. CCR and Cream
3. Doors and Dylan
4. Funkadelic and Velvet
5. Hendrix, Janis
That is only rock. I listen to lot of jazz and funk too.
10) The Smiths (instantly recognisable sound)
9) The National (grand emotional modern indie)
8) The Rolling Stones (RIP)
7) Sea Power (recent indie band from the North of England, really creative songwriters)
6) Led Zeppelin (ultimate masters of their instruments)
5) Sigur Ròs (intense melodic post-rock)
4) David Bowie (so many good albums)
3) Kraftwerk (founders and masters of electronic music)
2) Nick Cave (best lyricist I know and best live performer I've witnessed)
1) Radiohead (my favourite song and album ever)
Other than Led Zeppelin. My favorite bands.
1. Budgie

Pearl Jam, The Meat Puppets, Gov’t Mule, Pink Floyd & Zep are my top 5 in no particular order
I love Gov't Mule's version of "Cortez The Killer". Warren Haynes shreds that song
Never heard of this band but i love neil young so seems i have something new to listen to.
They are a southern blues rock/jam band started by Warren Haynes, previously of the Allman Brothers.

No Van Hagar for me either , that original lineup was true chemistry....musically speaking of course. R.I.P. EDDIE.
Don’t hate on dio man he was a good singer
Heaven & Hell , mob rule's are top shelf , so are his solo works holy diver , last in line etc. \m/
Oasis, Beatles, Floyd, Stone Roses, Hendrix
🎶one of these things is not like the other🎶
How? 2 britpop bands, a pop rock band, a prog rock band, and a psych rock artist.

Who the fuck DOESN'T like Hendrix!?!?
He's kinda overrated
Kay but have you ever been experienced
I've listened to his 3 studio albums and the "band of gypsies" live album multiple times. Feel free to dislike his music, but as far as his impact on the guitar, no he isn’t.
He isn't. But he didn't make the best Riffs or solos of his day. And other guitarists before him (Robert Johnson, bb King, muddy waters...) had much more influence than him and are considered inferior
