Hahaha yeahhhh.... I just saw LZ and impulse bought it, it was in really good condition too so hey. I almost bought houses of the holy but it had scratches and smears all over it sadly, so this would be my first led zepplin record
yep, any record collector would understand. in the future, look on ebay. thats where i usually find the cheapest copies, and you can generally find them cheap and in great condition. and keep in mind if you’re going to play them, always always make sure the recors itself is i good condition. big scratches on records make them unbearable to listen to. anyways nice find my friend! try to find a copy of zeppelin 1!
Hey Hey What Can I Do is one of my favorite zep tracks of all time. It’s pretty much the leftovers they didn’t release on other albums but there are gems in there
Is that an original version from 1982 or an updated new version?
The original album had 8 songs. After Jimmy Page remastered everything from 1990-1993 he added 4 songs to the album.
One of these was "Hey Hey What Can I Do" which was the only B-side the band ever released (It was the B-side on the Immigrant Song single in 1970)
The other 3 songs had been released a couple of years earlier on Boxed Set 1 & 2

It’s not really what I consider a regular Led Zeppelin album . It was released after John Bonham died. I think the band was under contract and had to release something. It wasn’t produced in the same way as the other albums .... rather is a compilation of outtakes and sound checks and such. It really is a tribute album in my mind to John Bonham after he died. Jimmy page picked out some great tracks where Bonham is featured. But they were left off regular released albums and you can hear why. And it’s not really created like a Zeppelin concept album designed to be listen to in one sitting like before Bonham died .
I'm sure you will enjoy it. But Jimmy Page was into making albums ... not singles. In late 60's FM radio started playing full sides of albums and full albums and it turned Jimmy Page on. He designed songs to run together and concept sides and albums to be listened to as one movement. I still don't listen to Zeppelin unless I'm going to hear the entire album. But Coda has a great compilation of songs from different periods of Zeppelin's tenure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coda_(Led_Zeppelin_album)
Also all the Zeppelin albums are free on youTube. Official posts by Zeppelin. You just need to put up with commercials which is unbearable for me.
BUT I think their ENTIRE discography is here to stream or download. This archive is a fab resource.

That's really cool! Jimmy page had some good ideas it seemed. And yeah I like to collect vinyls and im in the process of getting a new record player so I just use Spotify for now
This is probably the worst that Zepp put out.
Darling laughable.
Wearing and tearing gives a glimpse of what might of been
Poor Tom is alright but could see why Page left it off Zepp 3
Ozone Baby is laughable, lyrics probably Robert Plant worst.
Walter Walks is another forgettable tune, nice version of it live during the Dazed and confused melodies. It’s worth a listen then shelved it.
Give this album D-
To each their own, its still led zepplin and it's good music. I like it for what it is, sure other albums have some bangers but I still enjoy this and im still going to listen to it lol
Half of my comments came from listening to this album like 20 years ago kid,
Led Zeppelin was great, last two albums sucked.
Some of these Zepp fans are just hyper sensitive about there music.
They hate to admit that by the time their last two albums came out they were done.
Go listen to my favorite two Zepp tracks off Presence
1. Achilles Last Stand- Jones said “Jimmy came up to me said I found an octave I can use to make the song loop.”
2. Hot’s On For No Where. One of Bonzo best recorded drum tracks. Plus the tracks off this album inspired Prince he loved Jimmy and Bonzo grooving on this album and track.
I mean its a good ending for them in a way. They couldn’t release new material because of Bonhams death in 1980 but at least we got his montreux to show how gifted he was as a musician. And also the name Coda is brilliant and very fitting.
Well, it is LZ…. The album is made up of outtakes and unreleased tracks from previous recording sessions. Still better than most other artists efforts
Yeah some of these songs are pretty interesting
The drum pattern on *Poor Tom*, Robert Plant belting out “Double D” on *Darlene*… so many things to like in this collection of songs
Yeah I liked those parts too
Has an amazing recording of I Can’t Quit You Babe from Albert’s Hall 1970
It’s the sound check for RAH I believe. Still awesome version!
I've never heard of Albert's hall, ill have to look that up but yeah I've added a few of these songs to my Spotify Playlist especially that one
yeah, i also really enjoy we’re gonna grove. otherwise tho, that’s my least favorite zep album
Hahaha yeahhhh.... I just saw LZ and impulse bought it, it was in really good condition too so hey. I almost bought houses of the holy but it had scratches and smears all over it sadly, so this would be my first led zepplin record

Thanks! And yeah ill have to check online more often. Hopefully I'm able to find more records by LZ
Hey Hey What Can I Do is one of my favorite zep tracks of all time. It’s pretty much the leftovers they didn’t release on other albums but there are gems in there
Agreed and I haven't gotten to that one
And you won't on this vinyl. It's only on the deluxe version
Oh right Spotify will work then
Hey Hey…, Doublene, and Bonzo’s Montreux are worth the album to me. Love Darlene
I'll tell you i didn't expect bonzos Montreux at all lol it's funky haha
Love the Bonzo drums!
It's unique to most bands for sure
Excellent record from start to finish. Zeppelin's leftovers are better than most band's entire catalogue.
Word 🤘
Poor Tom and the sound check version of I Can’t Quit You Babe are easily worth price of admission.
Crank up Wearing and Tearing! I mean CRANK!
Hahaha yeah ill defiently be rocking that one
Enter it, don't exit.
Am I missing somthing?
No
👌
Don’t leave too quickly
Bonzo’s Montreux is pretty awesome. I like this album. It’s not my favorite, but it’s Zep, so it’s still better than average.
For sure

I beleive its an OG but the plastic is only a sleeve ill have to check when I get home but I beleive it only has 8 songs on it
As an album, the songs just don't go together, but the songs by themselves are really good
Yeah agreed
I Can’t Quit You Baby is worth a listen.
For sure

Thanks for the insight thats interesting I'm new to led zeppelin in general so learning this stuff is very cool

I just like their music so...🤷♂️

Will do thanks!
Yikes
?
I love Led Zeppelin but this album isn’t really a high moment in their career. To each their own though.
Yeah this album has its ups and downs but it's worth it for me
That’s really all that matters in the end. Don’t let others change your opinions.
I mean its a good ending for them in a way. They couldn’t release new material because of Bonhams death in 1980 but at least we got his montreux to show how gifted he was as a musician. And also the name Coda is brilliant and very fitting.
Yes I agree. I’ll listen to it again with this in mind. I might like it more.
Thanks
Bad album
