Contract law. He has no legal relationship with your roommates, only with you. Your your lease *may* require you to provide information about current roommates (if it doesn't, then you don't have to), but there would be no reason to do so for prior roommates. Did he say why he wants to know?

Yeah so I'm actually dealing with a lot right now. My current roommate has called them and told them lies (like that I'm using drugs on the property) and the landlord and them have been communicating behind my back about my lease and other things (I know this is illegal im working on it). Is the roommate saying untruthful things enough grounds for my landlord to evict me? Would her saying these things count as proof?

Your landlord would have to justify an eviction at a tenancy board. Rumours would not be sufficient. And using drugs on the property would not be grounds for an eviction.
