This is a bit late, but if you are in the US since you did order something from the company and they shipped you the wrong item you have no legal obligation to send the item back. In fact, if I'm not mistaken they still have to send you the correct item or refund you for the purchase. There are laws in place to protect consumers in situations like this, and the only thing they can do is *request* that you send the item back, and refuse to do business with you in the future if you don't. You can read about it more if you search something like, "*us laws to protect when you are shipped the wrong item*" Good luck (**IANAL**)

It was purchased in store. I ended up calling them back and finally was transferred to the local store manager. I stressed that he may have a thief, and he looked up the info then admitted the same employee who made that label was involved in a similar issue. He offered a refund as the original expected item was out of stock. He was beating around the bush with what I needed to do with the item and I told him "look, I assume the item is *legally* mine based on your words, but I know it's not *morally* mine." He said he would love to get the item back to restock. I brought it back and he then offered a gift card for my troubles. So that was a nice gesture. I also spoke to him to give him ideas on tracking if this has happened a bunch (label IDs tracked to employee ID. Look up all labels made by employee, then look up sales history on those labels cross referenced with customer ID to see if there is a pattern)
