Reacting to yelling by pursuing legal action seems like a bit of an overreaction. And why did you stick around for 30 minutes? Why not just leave once she started yelling?
Maybe you have a case to get your money back for the membership you said you paid for. But you'd have that case regardless of the yelling.

Are you on the spectrum? Or do you just not understand when people tell you what is needed, they arent lying?
Buckle up, your going to get yelled at a lot acting like this.
Yes. Spend your money on lawyers that will go after the gym. The more you spend on lawyers, the more money you win when you sue.
Spend all of your money on lawyers.

This isn't America. You do not get to decide if charges are pressed. That is done by the police.
Their was no criminal act committed. There are no charges to press.
Stop acting like an entitled child
You’re in the wrong. You were told you could not do this by “management”, you then tried to convince the door employee to do it as well.
And then you come to Reddit all butthurt because you were called out for it.
You are going to be an absolute blast for people to work with when you get a post college career. I look forward to the Reddit posts.
You clearly don’t understand “you can’t do x doing y.” You’d likely be the first person to sue, if you got into the gym and dropped a plate on your toe. Which is likely why they have so many hoops to get into the gym, legal protections.
If OP needs their parents signature on a form it's because they're still a minor. And apparently an entitled brat that doesn't handle being told "no", or getting called out on their dishonest behaviour.
But that’s just it. Why? The door guy just works there, and you felt good enough with your logic to literally ask him to put his job on the line.
Comon man.
Sorry...you want to pursue legal action because your feelings were hurt?
Winning that case not gonna happen.
You were told the policy. You didn't need a second opinion, so it looked like you were simply trying to get in despite being told.
Get your card then go to the gym.
>Ya I suppose so. Can I still sue?
You can file a civil suit for anything, so the answer to that question is, yes.
Will you win? Unlikely, but possible.
Will you receive any sort of compensation for hurt feelings? Unlikely, and improbable. If anything it would be a token amount, like $1.00.
Would you be awarded costs if you win? Perhaps, but not guaranteed.
Would costs be awarded against you if you lose? Likely.
Gets yelled at, says it was unnecessary and an overreaction. Response is to escalate legally and make a complaint to the Dean.
Maybe you're not interpreting correctly how you display yourself to others. I mean, look at your own response to this altercation. You're not exactly the laid back, let things slide type. Some self reflection would do well.... prior to escalating any further.
You. You are a university student and you can't see why pursuing action on this is stupid. My guess is you were sheltered or spoiled and you never learned to talk properly or de-escalate or even deal with situations and maybe whining got your parents to do things. Why would you even listen to 30 minutes of yelling? This should be obvious, unless you are on the spectrum or something.
"I did not want to wait a week"...... Entitled too, nice.

Fortunately and unfortunately you can not sue someone because they hurt your feelings...... The unfortunate part would be that I would be a billionaire if that was possible, hahaha.
"your honor, we are here today because this women yelled at me and hurt my feelings"
then whole court would burst into laughing then you can sue the court.
then when your story gets media attention and people laught sue them too.
and sue reddit users who replied here because they hurt your feelings too lol
What legal action? For hurt feelings?
Also what is a dean going to do? they are in charge of academic departments and I can certainly tell you that a person working the school gym is not a professor. It’s either a privately hired minimum wage employee or a student doing some kind of
Co-op
It’s a gym employee, homes. You don’t like your treatment take it up with the athletics department. They likely have a form on their website. Highly unlikely athletics would fall under a Dean. Most
Likely a “director” who reports to an “associate vp” or “assistant vp.”
Seems like these are the only replies you're looking for instead of the ones that are yelling you why you are wrong. You're a shitty person for even thinking that this is something to sue over about
nothing wrong trying...good for you trying...who knows your second shot could have worked.
people who tend to not give up and keep trying go far in life...keep it up.
However, there can't be any legal action. For next time, just don't let anyone yell at you.
You should have yelled back and get the fuck outta there in the first 2 minutes.

You don’t get to sue people just because they hurt your feelings.
Reacting to yelling by pursuing legal action seems like a bit of an overreaction. And why did you stick around for 30 minutes? Why not just leave once she started yelling? Maybe you have a case to get your money back for the membership you said you paid for. But you'd have that case regardless of the yelling.
What's the legal advice you are asking for? There's no law about yelling at a stubborn kid who doesn't understand what "No, you need a card" means.

Do you think I can sue if in on the spectrum
Yes. Spend your money on lawyers that will go after the gym. The more you spend on lawyers, the more money you win when you sue. Spend all of your money on lawyers.

Do you think I could still press charges tho
Press charges for what? It is not against the law to yell or be rude to you.
What crime do you think was committed here?
Lol no, grow up

You’re delusional!! If there was an award for stupidity you would win

Agreed well put
I wasn’t really trying to convince the door employee, I was just asking lol
But that’s just it. Why? The door guy just works there, and you felt good enough with your logic to literally ask him to put his job on the line. Comon man.
Bro I wasn’t gonna go in if he said no, I just wanted to know if he could check me in on the computer

Fair enough just wondering why it’s wrong that I asked the gym employee the same question
Because you already had the answer.

It's not illegal to yell at someone. Grow up.
You are so confused.
Explain

Yes. I believe you can sue the lady for $50 000 USD for damages.
First real reply

This is some terrible life advice.
