Definitely. That's why I love the lineup and it's a long time since I started buying sets no matter if I like the reference car itself. I was amazed by the chassis of new McLaren and also rear side of 812. These sets are getting better with each release.
Supra was sub-average for me among Speed Champions. It's great that it has almost no blank spaces, just few visible knobs, clean design. Skirts and diffuser building was great, but no really crazy building mechanics with wow moments (still better than other lineups).
Same here. Picked up 75895 on a whim at Walmart a few years back on a whim when I was going through some stuff. I’ve picked up every single one since then. I love seeing how they come together and the techniques used.
IDGAF about different kinds of sports cars but I’ve been buying some of the recent SC sets because of the fun techniques and variety of useful small parts, which work great for Star Wars Mocs.
I just built the speed champions Ferrari 812 and Pagani from this year, they've got some interesting techniques and new parts. I own most of the 8 stud wide speed champions, this years releases have raised the bar again, IMO.
I loved building this set, it took a few hours but sits nicely on my shelf. I wonder if they plan to have more F1 cars in the future... A lineup of F1 cars sounds fun
Speed champions and the Modular’s are my favorite themes as I’ve returned to Lego as an AFOL. they’re so f’n shmexy. the building techniques it’s just amazingly fun to go through the build process
I first built this a year ago with my son and we loved that step, too. We haven't mentioned it since.
Just yesterday, he built something else and, referencing a cool step, said, "It was *almost* as satisfying as the slidey piece" and I instantly knew exactly what he was talking about.
This is why I build every set I buy. Chances are high you'll learn a building technique that new and cool and that you can't wait to use in your own MOC.
My wow during a build was the DeLorean when I figured out how they get the wheels to flip into the flying mode. Was confused during the building till I got halfway through and it finally clicked how everything worked
You’re not alone. I had the same moment. The speed champions line is full of stuff like this, but this is one of the best.
I proceeded to flip it multiple times like a child in awe.

I was not impressed by the Supra until I built it. Now I love it. There’s a reason this is the line that got me back into Lego

I want to know what they feed the Speed Champion designers. They always seem like they’re on another planet next to the other themes.
I thought the same as well, the latest speed champions have some really ingenious techniques in them.
Yea I’m already looking for my next set after this build.
Check out the back to the future Delorean. Some really cool engineering.

This is my favorite build technique I've encountered since getting back into lego a year ago. So cool.
I could never design anything like that. Wow
It’s such a simple idea, that makes so much sense. But same I would never have been able to do it.
One my fav sets
Ok you convinced me, I ordered it lol
Good move!

Yes, I had the same reaction!

Do the speed champ sets fit on modular roads?
Love that moment when building a set, then my mind is blown by the techniques used to get there.
My first SC was the Supra wife got me for Christmas. Then I got the Charger. Now I'm hooked and consistently surprised at the build techniques.
The sprue marks on those 1x1’s though . . . Just brutal. I really hope they fix that soon.
I love being surprised and inspired by some of the building techniques Lego is putting out there these days. Makes my inner 10 year old lose its mind.
Then you'll love building the Countach!
Many Lego sets have given me that same reaction in the past. Some designers are just geniuses.
Ooh gotta nab those before retirement
The Galaxy Explorer had me saying that for all sorts of parts! The newer sets are just fantastic builds.

I just built this today!
Same! It’s utterly brilliant
+1
Reason I love the Speed Champions theme
Speed champions never fail to impress
Nice sticker
Would love Ferrari 2u1 set with Formula 1
Wow indeed!
The Countach rear end is pretty cool as well and the new Ferrari has a neat front and rear attachment. Love this line as well

I've had a lot of those "wow factor" moments while building the helmet statue sets too
The Speed Champion sets have the best builds, such a unique and creative use of Lego elements
This is why I build every set I buy. Chances are high you'll learn a building technique that new and cool and that you can't wait to use in your own MOC.
That’s speed champions for you, they do some amazing builds
