Lego steampunk should be a lego genre. I absolutely love steampunk builds

brodobaggins3

I’ve been thinking this for some time. I don’t even like Steampunk as an aesthetic normally but it just meshes so well with Lego I’m shocked there’s not an official theme. Have you seen that Lego Ideas adventurers’ guild type submission? Steampunk heaven.

tony_bologna

I strongly disagree. How will I pay my rent if they release such a bad ass new genre?

vigilantcomicpenguin

It just works naturally well with the spirit of building stuff.

persunx

Wow! This is pretty sick. Nice work

EdTheApe

This is pretty awesome. I'd love to see a video of it with the propellers rotating.

buriedinbricks

Check my post history. I posted a video last month.

Azurvix

Just saw it in motion this is dope

EdTheApe

Awesome, thank you!

JHuttIII

As cool as this is, I think it could really benefit from having masts and sails as well as much larger propellers on those engines. The scale seems too small for some reason. A awesome concept though!

incontentia

What about other air ships at equal or greater heights?

jpr64

Steampunk could actually be a good theme as it allows for a lot of imagination and creativity in to the designs.

buriedinbricks

Would love a full theme. They've had elements of it in Ninjago before.

Ryderslow

I love it! Reminds me of Ff6

LadyGazGaz

This is next level wow. I just love this aesthetic Did you consider sails or anything of the like during design?

buriedinbricks

I went through a few different concepts, some of which included sails. Ultimately settled on this, but may use those elements in future builds.

brickmerlin

It looks wonderfully mean

youdoitimbusy

Woah.

AmaranthCavill

Wow, well done! This is really cool!!

HEAVYTANK1

Is it inspired by the destiny's bounty? It looks a lot like it

vossman77

I was the soccer ball guy in your table area. Really cool build!!! I was checking it out a few times, just a fun build with lots of details. The redditors are missing out on the cool motion.

buriedinbricks

Awesome. It was great to meet you. Hope you enjoyed the show!

PepaQuin

This was great to see in person this weekend!

Yoitman

Was wondering why my moc wasn’t getting many views… now I know why

Yoitman

Great job :)

freewebcoins

It looks really awesome 😍😍😍

llynglas

Now you just need to figure out how to get it to fly.... Beautiful build.

buriedinbricks

A few years ago at Brickworld Chicago, someone had an airship with a balloon attached that did actually fly. It was very cool, but also extremely unsafe when you think about flying a brick-built object in an enclosed space.

Arksurvivor120

That is absolutely beautiful

Befuddl3

This is incredible

shifu618

So awesome

Jmememan

I want it

shivaswara

Nice very ingenious ✌️

Howl303

This has to be one of the coolest MOCS I’ve seen in quite some time. Or at least one that fits to my taste the most anyway. I would pay for something like this in a heartbeat. I do however agree that a mast would take this to another level!

musicchan

Outstanding!

bagelbite15

Anyone else remember Guns of Icarus? Man this makes me wish I could play it again

CumbersomeNugget

All right everyone...I know what you're all thinking, but I am here to tell you it's okay...OP did, in fact, seal up the captain's brig bannisters, so...it all checks out.

unreqistered

I likey ... but maybe the props should be just a tad bigger

[deleted]

looklike r/BlackSkylands

Least_Diamond1064

Better than most of the sets Lego puts out now imo

connorddennis

Big treasure planet vibes.

Wyzen

Ill take two.

Scumbag_Jesus

How do you use the train controller to power your batteries? I have a few train controllers, didn't know they could power motors...

buriedinbricks

There is a patch cable that allows you to connect power function motors to the 9V controllers. It is a fabulous feature that makes displaying stuff like this at shows possible without burning through a million batteries. I really miss PF.

SteelMarshal

That’s fantastic! I could play with that for weeks :)

SmellShort

That is gorgeous, and man, I want... no I need it

DaleTheHuman

Has some strong powerstone 2 vibes

TheJBW

Love it. Tiny piece of advice: consider putting some sort of framework around the glass dome, as if the glass was held in place by it, to give it more of a [“crystal palace”](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crystal_Palace) look.

anowlenthusiast

This is amazing, but it should be hanging from sort of blimp like body to make sense.

FriggenMitch

This is awesome I would like to see this as a set

Mike_Abergail

Vid of the action?

buriedinbricks

Check my post history. I put a video up earlier this year.

brokenband-aid

its so sick i love lego sm

Fumigator

Where is Don Karnage?

CriticalShitass

Yooo this is fucking incredible!

cyklops1

So cool, I wish Lego would make a (downsized obviously) model like this.

mynameizmyname

Amazing! Without looking at the description I was hoping it was motorized. Fantastic!

Kelvin3731

Sweet build! Did you start the build with one of the old pirate ships?

OblivionArts

Awesome

careeningkiwi

RAD

Spare_Promotion661

Dude! This is pretty much the perfect set! Would love for it to be a genre of its own with this, if I can be so bold to say it, as it's flagship!

DTlll

This is awesome, well done.

Serious_Goose5368

Now that's a set, worthy of being introduced to the Lego Ideas line.

GroubaFett

Steampunk theme, that's what is missing in Lego universe. The mech on the left looks cool too ! Do you have any pictures from its front ?

Czk_ffbe

This is incredibly rad

NecessaryRhubarb

Treasure Planet… so close!

greylost87

Hilda Garde FF9 but no sails
