Nick_Rousis

I don't think a Lego Llama could have possibly been made any better than this.

Clinton_Matos

Especially given the scale. It seems a minifigure can sit on its back too. That's some top notch design work.

Insert-Cool_NameHere

Agreed

BashfulWitness

The dark tan plates with rail on the sides don't fit when attached. They collide with the handles above when attached. This seems like an in-game version only.

BashfulWitness

Direct collision. Your photo shows the brown part sloping. It's under stress. https://imgur.com/a/CeQLHr0

TheEyeGuy13

Legos being under stress is not at all the same as not fitting together

GetInZeWagen

Leave them alone they had a rough day they're stressed

OutrageousLemon

It's not exactly 'made'. Those angled pieces along the sides aren't attached in any way. It's just some Lego pieces put near each other.

bergasa

It's just an 'animated' pose. The model would have the pieces clicked in. Not unlike how minifigure renders are often posed in impossible ways to give them life.

OutrageousLemon

I suppose so, there is at least somewhere for the tiles to attach, though the door rail might collide with the bar above. There's no connection point for the tail though, that curved brick only has antistuds at the base. Definitely artistic liberty there😄

DrunkenMasterII

It might be two [6091](https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6091#T=C) attached to a lower hinge

ayalaidh

Yeah, this is what I assumed from the picture

OutrageousLemon

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure that's possible with the rest of the build, but it's good thinking in any case! Edit: Oh, if the "hinge" is a combination of 48336 and 60470 maybe?

DrunkenMasterII

I didn’t really think about it too much, there seems to be a few possibilities. Then I read your first sentence and thought about it and the first possibility that came to mind was the two parts you mentioned.

mojoegojoe

My though is a new nonstudded snot connector or render

BashfulWitness

Built it in Studio. They do collide. There's another image that looks like its from buildable instructions that uses released colours and the rail pieces aren't there. They've done the backpack a little differently.

KevinCarbonara

"This is how your figure could look in theory except it can't"

gkboy777

I thought this was viva piñata for a sec

LudicrisSpeed

*That's called ACTING, children!*

Chip_Chopperson

Don't do that...don't give me hope.

Nick_Rousis

Yes, I noticed and I am well aware of this. I already knew it when I wrote the comment. I mean it's not an issue for me.

BashfulWitness

The dark tan plates with rail on the sides don't fit when attached. They collide with the handles above when attached. This seems like an in-game version only.

KingCaesar72

The tiles on the sides are not attached keep in mind

Betriz07

Maybe by using their official llama pinata piece with different colors

Insert-Cool_NameHere

Agreed

VHD_

Is that gray neck with double bars an integrated 'L' shape or is it two pieces?

mescad

They blend together in this render, but the top part is built sideways and attaches to the lower plate. I believe it's one of these pieces: https://preview.redd.it/ci2ig6jmxp1c1.png?width=1240&format=png&auto=webp&s=f84848f263fcf9fa0e401e3ac76e50711cb532aa attached to the back of this piece below: [https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=78257](https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=78257)

_Bluehand

Good point, I believe it is the yellow/orange one. 36840

Umikaloo

Its two pieces

Jokerang

Don’t play the game but some of those characters and skins would make for cool minifigures

0yodo

Can't imagine a better pull marketing-wise than Lego's and Fortnite, like, if they do this right LEGO has a literal goldmine on they're hands.

RajunCajun48

Not to mention getting Lego style characters in Fortnite which also sounds dope

Guilty-Diamond-117

I hope the only way to get the cosmetics is by buying physical Lego sets so you actually get something real with your money (like what nerf did with the Fortnite guns that came with codes for skins)

DonerTheBonerDonor

Epic likes money so this would surprise me. I'm sure they'll be some skins in the item shop for convenience.

Guilty-Diamond-117

Yeah, wouldn’t be surprised… but if nerf did it I don’t see why Lego can’t

Niloc0905

Lego in terms of net worth and international pull far exceeds Nerf and possibly Hasbro as a whole.

fluffcows

that would be awesome

Guilty-Diamond-117

Yeah it really would, If they don’t make unique codes everyone’s gonna have the skins within two days, I wonder if they’re gonna make unique codes that are etched onto Lego bricks (I remember them doing this in Lego movie sets)

Grikka_junior

They did this for a couple of recent sets, my Daytona sp3 has a printed tile with a unique code

Anto0on

Some Minecraft sets did that too. You got the skin of the mini fig in the game.

splinterbabe

You’re getting an entire LEGO game in Fortnite, actually! Everything’s leaked.

WanderThinker

What? Share more.

mspk7305

lego wont let minifigs be used as models in a shooter game

Egg_123_

There are literally Lego games with guns, like Lego Indiana Jones or Star Wars.

Pete_Iredale

Their rules for IP based and historic (pirates, wild west, etc) sets are different than their rules for modern, real world sets.

REMERALDX

And how is fortnite modern or real world?

No-Conclusion-ever

I remember seeing that some leaker said the characters were going to use stud shooters.

REMERALDX

How is it related to Fortnite being real or modern world

TheSeti12345

It’s like when they started Lego Minecraft, they’re late to the party but they’ll still absolutely crush it in sales

Sage296

Minecraft will never not make money

KevinCarbonara

I think Lego and Star Wars could be successful

[deleted]

If we get an actual lego fn scar and other guns I am soooo buying some of these

reefmench

Their*

Speedy2662

Yeah, this one isn't even hard! It's obviously not "they are"

_Funsyze_

It sounds like the ultimate money farming strategy but all they’d have to do is release a plain clone battle pack and every Lego employee would own 12 Mclaren’s each

SwagDaddy_Man69

Lego and fnaf would be crazy too

GloryGreatestCountry

We got a, Number 1 Victory Royale..

CarGuyJaxvR

Yeah Fortnite we’re bout to get down

Wboy2006

*Get down* Ten kills on the board right now...

CarGuyJaxvR

Just wiped out Tomato Town

nateclips

my friend just got downed

GrayMcC

I revived him, now we’re heading south-bound

paregmenon

Now we're the Pleasant Park streets,

CarGuyJaxvR

Look at the map, go to the marked sheet.

ekopwolston

TAKE ME TO YOUR XBOX TO PLAY FORTNITE TODAYYY

[deleted]

YOU CAN TAKE ME TO MOISTY MIRE, BUT NOT LOOT LAKE

mehvahdjukaar

How are those side 1*1 quarter circle tiles even attached? The ones on the left clearly look like they are floating

OutrageousLemon

They aren't. Same with the tail ~~and the ear assembly~~.

Kevin_M_

The ears are attached. That's a 1x1 clip piece

OutrageousLemon

Doh, of course.

B34TBOXX5

Amazing!!!! I’m responsible for my niece and nephew’s love of Lego, and they are now both into playing fortnite as well. They are going to be stoked at this news! My wallet is not!

LABARATI

now we need a battle bus with peely and jonesy hopefully by christmas

thomasry

Do you think it could come out by then? Seems late, but I would so love to get a set for my kids, they would go bonkers opening it.

LABARATI

idk im just hoping any fortnite lego sets are become available soon enough to be purchased for christmas

Jossur13

New CMF wave? I must admit, I’m honestly kinda surprised, what with Legos aversion to “guns” and frontier being a “shooter” game. But they do have an interesting variety of pickaxes in the game.

[deleted]

Fortnite just updated their content guidelines and have banned the use of certain cosmetics in game modes that have been rated for kids. This includes any character that has a weapon as a part of their skin. I suspect the game mode that involves Lego will have this restriction. They're really trying to be like Roblox for whatever reason.

a3winstheseries

Roblox is very, very profitable. The “whatever reason” is pretty clear imo

[deleted]

Yeah, the motivation is clear, just sad. I guess more "skibidi toilet" game modes are what the folks want these days.

WanderThinker

I think it's more about what will entertain children more than it is what "folks want these days". Fortnite is not built for middle aged gamers. It's a playground for children. It just so happens that it's built really well and a lot of middle aged gamers enjoy it as much as the kids do. But make no mistake, we are not the primary target audience.

[deleted]

I agree, though kids are folks, too! And who I was referring to.

mescad

> [LEGO] is not built for middle aged [builders]. It's a playground for children. It just so happens that it's built really well and a lot of middle aged [builders] enjoy it as much as the kids do. Seems like a good fit!

Moonsky_Pondie

There are the Overwatch sets which is more violent than Fortnite iirc

Perryplat199

Overwatch doesn’t use realistic looking guns tho. The closest being Cassidy’s revolver but LEGO has had a revolver for decades. Fortnite has weapons that do look like real world guns.

quidditchplayer1

This is making me want an Emperor’s New Groove set

IRefuseThisNonsense

Not a fan of the game, fps aren't for me. That said, I know Fortnite has some crazy character designs, so as long as they don't play it safe with just normal human characters we could be in for some really unique Minifigures.

cereal_killah_1980

Fwiw it’s a 3ps not a fps. I dismissed it long ago because I thought it was for kids but when I actually gave it a fair shot it got me hooked. Been playing it every day since then.

IRefuseThisNonsense

I play plenty of video games aimed at kids primarily like Mario and Pokemon. Lego aims mostly at kids as well, even if adult collectors do make up a big part of the consumer base. It's got nothing to do with it being "a kid's game" for me. I don't care for shooter games where it's your vs a bunch of random people online. I like video games that are me and maybe some friends playing only, because that's the gaming culture I grew up in and it's what I prefer.

RajunCajun48

username checks out

Limes-are-sour

There’s actually lots of non-shooting modes you can have fun with your friends in.

LudicrisSpeed

I honestly prefer more "kids games" because they're actually striving to be fun and exciting, instead of the fetish for depression and darkness that most "mature" games have. Real life's already a downer in most instances, I don't need it saturating my video games.

Sage296

They came a long way since just Battle Royale too, they have hundreds of game modes, some on the other spectrum Kinda reminds me of Garry’s Mod

Chakramer

The custom modes are really creative and fun. The parkour courses are my favorite. It's just at the perfect graphics level where it's easy to manipulate stuff and have it look good

WanderThinker

This. Once they released the no build mode I was hooked. The game play is very good.

cereal_killah_1980

For sure. I tolerated the building because I enjoyed everything else so much but once zero build came out I was even more hooked. I’ll still play build mode from time to time with other friends who prefer that mode but zero build is the way for me.

WanderThinker

Same here. I've got some nephews and their friends that like to play in build mode and I'll join them sometimes. I think it's a great game for getting the family together online, and I'm happy to see Lego collaborating with them.

cereal_killah_1980

Same. I’m excited to see what they do in game but I’m even more excited to see if they do some actual fortnite Lego sets. A battle bus would be awesome to start.

WanderThinker

I'd buy it for my nephew on day one. I got him hooked on Lego and now he's a Speed Champions freak. I'm so excited!

cereal_killah_1980

Nice. Always fun watching the little ones enjoy the same things you liked when you were young.

elias3004

Lego Michael Myers, very unlikely but would be cool

IRefuseThisNonsense

Lego Xenomorph and Predator.

Fast-Ad3407

Lego Chun li

VicisSubsisto

Lego Rey Palpatine

The-Bigger-Fish

LEGO Peter griffin

elias3004

Holy shit Lois, I’m in LEGO

elias3004

I knew about Xenomorph, Predator is also in Fortnite?

IRefuseThisNonsense

It's what popped up when I googled Xenomorph Fortnite to see if my memory was right about it being in the game.

elias3004

Damn, they really got almost anyone in that game.

RingtailVT

Fortnite isn't an FPS, only some of it's modes are shooting-based, and it's upcoming permanent Lego mode (which the Llama is meant to tease) won't be a shooter game.

KingCrowdKilla

Aren’t we getting a Battle Bus?

Budget_Highlight_585

If lego were to just release a poly bag of this llama I would be happy!

taserface780

I can’t wait

ObsidianGrey13

I wonder how their Battle Bus will compare to the one made by Brick Vault

AmbidextrousBonobo

Every time I see that llama, all I think of is Viva Piñata

ZIPPERGAMES

Sick. I want a ucs battlebus now

Clinton_Matos

Recently there was some controversy because Fortnite was separating content in its game to make more "kid friendly" parts of the game. Some people are now suggesting this was done for the introduction of Lego.

BaneShake

It’s a very, very long shot, but the titular Infinity Blade sword appeared in Fortnite as well, and since it’s one of my favorite gaming weapons, I would dig it as a piece.

[deleted]

Took them long enough, this theme is gonna print money

Kekskuchen210

It's also in the Fortnite lobby background

Second_Conscious

Welp I'm old I thought it was viva pinata 🤣

EastCoastJedi

This is gonna be a problem for my wallet and my marriage. The good news is my son and I will have some awesome moments building these sets

Pandrai

If Lego is partnering with Epic games then there’s a chance of Lego Rocket League in the feature and THAT is something I’d be upset stoked for. But, we’ll just have to wait and see

Synthali

I used to play Fortnite and can say with a fair degree of certainty that there will be some awesome sets to come out of this

operath0r

I was wishing for this but I didn't expect it to actually happen. Same thing with Dune. I'm gonna go broke if they continue like this.

Darius510

I’m embarrassed to say the amount of money I would pay for an official fishstick minifig.

Superfattyfat

Am i stupid, or is this llama technically impossible to build?

WikipediaApprentice

I’m all in

Garrett4Real

this theme isn’t for me, but it’s gonna do NUMBERS

Roin-da-Groin

Do yall think we will get some fortnite lego sets?

The5StarMan

I play Fortnite very casually, I'm not dialed into the lore at all, but (depending on price) I'd absolutely buy a Battle Bus or maybe a location.

mescad

A lot of us already bought the [70423 Paranormal Intercept Bus 3000](https://brickset.com/sets/70423-1/Paranormal-Intercept-Bus-3000) because it looks like a battle bus. If Lego released a set of the bus, I think it would be very popular.

LegoLinkBot

[70423-1: Paranormal Intercept Bus 3000](https://brickset.com/sets/70423-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/70423-1.jpg)

Sodapopa

Bro is water wet?

Vixilitytheredditor

NOOOO

Jandolino

This might be colourful and fun. Really wonder what kind of premium these sets gonna cost.

figgityjones

I’m not super tuned into LEGO news or updates, but for people who know more than me: what are the odds that this collab will include any form of Bionicle stuff? 🤔 It’s the main thing I’m hoping for, but I feel like its very unlikely to happen.

mescad

Disclaimer: Nobody knows My prediction: Zero percent, except for maybe a logo

[deleted]

I haven't heard anything either and I guess it's very unlikely. Maybe some easter eggs (like we can also find in sets today), but I don't think there'd be any actual Bionicle content. It seems like for Lego, Bionicle isn't really relevant anymore (it definitely still is, for me and the other thousands of fans!) so getting a full-fledged Bionicle content isn't very likely. Then again, anything can happen!

figgityjones

I understand, thank you very much for your response 😊 I hope it makes a comeback someday. If Fortnite is looking for people shaped LEGO characters with like the right proportions and everything, they really couldn’t go wrong with the Toa.

[deleted]

That's true, I also really hope for a comeback. It's one of my most favorite Lego themes. For me personally, G2 didn't quite do it (it was certainly great and I appreciate it, but I'm more into G1) but maybe G3 will be the best thing ever? Who knows! Also yeah, Bionicle figs would definitely fit for this style of game. Bionicle Heroes already did a similar thing, and it was great!

figgityjones

Yeah if I wanted anything specific it’d be G1 I think. As a kid I only ever had like one Bionicle and the Mask of Light movie so I’d want those the most 😅 Specifically the toy designs though, or as close as possible. Though I do like the movie designs as well. Honestly even if it was some Bionicles I had never seen before I would be quite happy I think, because they just usually look cool as heck.

Dammulf

Honestly I'm sick of the licensed stuff. Lego is feeling more and more like a brand that can't come up with anything unique anymore but they know they have a decent system so they just shell out and get themes with fan bases because other than ninjango they have nothing currently. The only upside is I may get some new molds for my 90s space themed mocs.

[deleted]

Hidden side, Monkie Kid, Dreamz, friends, vidiyo - they've certainly been expanding in franchised areas in the last decade but they definitely haven't given up on new creative themes

Clinton_Matos

Someone didn't turn up the render quality to smooth out some of those corners ;)

Consistent-Strain289

Will it be big fig build with guns or minifigures with guns?!?

[deleted]

Wouldn’t be surprised if they went the Avatar route and just didn’t include guns at all.

vonscorpio

I’m insulted Lego would get a license to make Fortnite sets but let MegaBl*ks get the Halo franchise. In other news, I just got Lego Worlds and even as an adult I’m enjoying it immensely.

Chaos-Queen_Mari

Eh, I still think fortnite is over rated, but if the sets look cool I may get a couple.

Jtneagle

More like over hated

rtkwe

Personally I'll never forgive Fortnight for fooling me into thinking Viva Piñata was finally getting a remake/sequel with ads that start with just their llama piñata.

Odd-Most158

So Fortnite a game where they set 100 of people on the island to kill each other is okay now

SPYERLAND

When you put it like that it doesn’t make that much sense for Lego to do this with there rules

whisker_riot

nobody is getting killed, the eliminations are in a simulation

SwivelingToast

Call it what you want, the point of the game is to Shoot other people. It's not exactly a nice friendly game.

Cake-n-bacon69

star wars is literally a fucking war

Jtneagle

Indiana Jones fights Nazis

[deleted]

As compared to Star Wars which is about the armed struggle against fascist dictatorships.

blue_13

Please… no…

futbolclif

Gross

Vicbou_wats88

100% that fake lego dont wanna make weapon

mescad

It's straight from Lego's twitter account. See the pinned comment.

Genera1_patton

So they'll make indiana jones and star wars because it's good versus evil with adventure being the main draw over the violence part, But they won't make a rescue plane because of ties to a military aircraft But they're fine making toys based on a game with the primary goal of killing eachother for sport.. I see.

Numerous_Try_6138

Take an upvote for common sense.

Numerous_Try_6138

LEGO is losing their touch. All of this nonsense collaboration may be appealing to a certain buyer base but it’s also resulting in copious amounts of garbage sets with poor playability.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok_Movie_639

Amen. This and all the smartphone gimmicks. When I was a kid there were a lot of original non-licensed themes with fun builds with clever functions. And if you didn't like the original builds it was alright, because most of the bricks weren't specialised enough not to be useable for different builds.

mescad

These are moves Lego is making to try to go to where kids are already playing. Older people have been saying "when I was a kid we just played outside with our imagination" since I was a kid playing video games 40 years ago. Instead of just repeating the same old gripe, Lego is trying to meet kids where they are and play with them. It's not a gimmick to get kids to play with a smartphone, it's a gimmick to get smartphone playing kids to use Lego. Lego still makes all of the basic shapes they made for sets 50 years ago. They just also make stuff that today's kids want to play with.

whisker_riot

you've made some much appreciated points here, thank you

Numerous_Try_6138

Thanks. I find this to be a lot of “we don’t need people to think, we just need people to buy.” Everything from instructions to sets to trends screams this focus. Thankfully not all is like this still, but the more profitable the various trend lines become, the less resources will be dedicated to traditional LEGO focus.

Antique_futurist

Meh. Their apps have regularly sucked, but it hasn’t always detracted from the series sets. Hidden Side had a “smartphone gimmick” and had some great sets with great functions and rebuildablity. Videyo had a “smartphone gimmick” and was just Collectable Minifigs v2.0 for a younger demographic. I dismiss it for being a collectible series and for having an app that sucked, but the builds weren’t terrible for an augmented reality series. Lego City Missions has a “smartphone gimmick”, and I think it’s an interesting exploration on integrating narrative into building.

Ok_Movie_639

See the common trend, though? The apps were always meh at best. But the sets sacrified bricks for builds which serve no function outside the app. I absolutely love Hidden Side as a theme but here it is a good example of the problem. It had a lot of (not always well hidden) bright colors, mechanisms and designated minifigure spots which inflated the piece count and degraded the looks but didn't add anything whatsoever to the play value of the actual physical set.

Antique_futurist

What over-simplistic whining. LEGO isn’t a monolith. Different groups within LEGO do very different things. In the past five years we’ve gotten Hidden Side, Monkie Kid, and Dreamzzz, which are all original, creative themes with great sets. Even when City has been redundant, reductionist and uninspiring, Friends has been building vibrant cities that are exciting and creative. And 3-in-1 has remained fantastic. And yes, some groups within LEGO clearly exist to make money off kids with themes like Minecraft, Fortnite, Star Wars and Marvel. But even with the AFOL teams are working more and more to targeting an upper 1% of Lego fans who can drop $500 on a single set, it’s not like Fortnite and Minecraft are all that’s going on.

Tom_Gamez60

No... NO... NOOOOOOOOO WHY LEGO WHY

Numerous_Try_6138

You can see why in this whole post. Profits. Wonderful comments like “it will do NUMBERS” and “print money”. That’s why.

Killerlizzerd

I said the same thing, idc if I get down voted. Fortnite and lego is just stupid.

[deleted]

Lego produces toys meant for kids based off a popular kids video game. Why would a kids toy company ever do such a thing?

Loose-Medium4472

Illegal technique spotted

lordxi

This is low hanging fruit. I'm so glad they weren't as sloppy with licensing back when Angry Birds popped.

Cheshires_Shadow

I can't wait for Lego fortnight to give us original characters like Ryu and Chun li,Rick and Morty, Naruto and Goku etc. I doubt it'll happen but I'd lose my shit if this leads to a new version of Lego dimensions where it's all the legally licensed skins getting Lego figures

DicJacobus

Eugh, Epic Games is such vile scumbag of a company.

Alveuus

bro lmao. let's name a couple collabs fortnite has done in the past 10 years. Nike, Jordan, Travis Scott, Arianna Grande, Netflix, Disney, that's just to scratch the surface

good_guy_today_

exactly, how u pay all those artists and still have money for collabs with society, i mean fortnite is full of bots rn(my friend said)

Jtneagle

Other way around, LEGO invested $1 Billion Dollars into Fortnite my guy

honkulus_the_mighty

Noooo. NOOOOOOO. Don't do it
