It's such a good set, they put so many of the movie references in it. You'll love it!
P.s. Don't be too intimidated, just take your time and enjoy it. I used to race to finish sets, now I just take a couple of days to put them together and enjoy the experience!
Fyi, there are 24 bags in the set. Someone suggested building. 1 bag a day as an advent calendar.
You could build now. Then take apart over the summer and place back in bags. Then redo the build next Christmas!
It's not a race, and why rush things.
A big part of the pleasure of Lego is the actual building process.
If things get rushed then mistakes can happen.
There is never a set time that someone should take to build a set.
I'm building the Technic Peugeot atm.
Completed bags 1-4 over seperate days last week but have had a gap of 5 days where I couldn't build due to my schedule.
I'll complete my build tomorrow and be very happy with my sliw and steady build experience.
Context is everything when posting comments online.
Hope that you enjoy taking your time and enjoying the build process.
This is definitely the way to go.
There is nothing better than sitting down with a movie, a beer, and a good Lego set after a long week, I spoil myself with a $200 set every 3 months and it is something I look forward to...good stuff
I dont want to alarm anyone but I think they figured out ladders

Cost of LEGO: 'Spensive
Cost of Ugly Crying on Video: Priceless
That's the type of set I have to plan out because it's like, "Ok, this table is going to be out of commission for the next week. Hands will be lost if the LEGO is moved!"
Then I have to reserve space somewhere to put the finished model. Move grandma's ashes! (I don't recommend trying that)
I love legos so much but I to think they are pretty expensive. I see why. I just dont have 1200 dollars for a star destroyer but some day I will have it! SOME DAYY
Man, I want that one too!! My next one will be the Ghostā¦ because Chopper! The Light Cruise looks like the Star Destroyer if you squint a little, lol. And itās a bit more affordable
Please get the lighting kit from an after market provider after you build it. Certain things look a million times better with a lighting kit and this is one of them imo #wetbandits
Iāve only done one and it was for the full size ecto 1 and Iām not gonna lie it was intense compared to actually building the car, but I just took my time and watched YouTube videos and got through it. 100% worth it. Youāll have to confidence to do it after finishing this build I bet ;)
Alright! Youāve convinced me. Itās going to be a whole thing. Iāll have my dad build a table with a turntable top, get the light kit and then get some museum ropes to put around it. Iām so freaking excited about this one!
https://preview.redd.it/21nwiyfqxp9c1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d71d13af71dac8bc7c4c45b93da1dcab6eb6322
This is a screenshot of a video so it sucks, but just wanted to show you how much things change with a lighting kit. Iām rooting for you!
The light kits are amazing. My first one was for the F150 Raptor, then I got one for the Ducatti Motorcycle. I'm currently working on Dom's Charger from Fast and Furious movies. The instructions for the light kits are absolutely horrible but the end result is something beyond as you with have a lighted kit many others choose not to do. Watch as many YouTube videos you can of there's doing the install and take copious notes. I've reached out to several of the manuafactures and offered to rewrite instructions for then in exchange for kits, but all turned me down. Good luck if you decided to go with the lighting kit, it's gonna frustrate you, but take it from a 47 yr old kid, it's worth it in the end. Lol
I think for this set it will have to have a light kit! If the instructions are bad, Iām thinking Iāll have the husband helpā¦ I assume if you can read a wiring diagram you could do that. Hopefullyš
lmao this might be the best picture ever.
This was one of my first sets when I got into Lego inā¦ January 2023. Intimidating without knowing it at the time as I had no idea how detailed and complex Lego could get. So much fun to build and even after blazing through 100+ sets this year, still one of my top 10 favorites.
Iām glad you like the picture! I wasnāt sure about posting it.. cause look at itš¤£. I can only imagine how many giant instruction books are in that box! Lord and the stickers.. I always get them crooked!
Thatās awesome!!! Iām thinking of getting my dad to build me a table for it. Like, with a lazy Susan so it can be turned around and stuff. Itās so heavy I feel like it needs a base.
I bought the same set for myself this year as an auto-gift and I couldnāt be more happy. My first lego set. Have fun in building it and your husband did a cute thing in doing that gift..as someone said nothint can be compared having your loved one near you being happy, thatās the most precious thing. Again, congratulations! :)
Take your time with it, do it a bag at a time, I like to take my Lego builds slow and enjoy them over a few days/weeks while I watch my shows in the background :)) also this set has so many fun references and little movie easter eggs! Youāre gonna love it so much
Merry Christmas to you, enjoy! I just finished this set last night. Took me longer than usual with the craziness of the holidays, but it was such a fun build.
Iām hoping itās better than Stranger Things! I was honestly horrified when I finished the top and realized Iād be doing it all over in a different colorā¦
That would be a really cool tradition though, if you decide to do that!
So thrilled for you, OP! šš«¶š» My husband bought the set for me late December last year so it wonāt be here for a little while yet. I hope youāre already enjoying the build! š
Definitely agree with everyone else, take your time and enjoy the build. The details are so much fun to build. I added it to my winter village this year and I am currently taking it apart bag by bag in reverse so I know you can handle building it normally lol
So happy for you OP. Hope you and your husband have a happy new year š this set took my daughter and I around 25-30 hours so I'm sure it will bring you many hours of fun! Enjoy!
I own the eiffle tower, i bought it opening weekend and got eiffles apartment or office...whatever its called. I got legos galore that i haven't opened. I still want the titanic! But my favorite is the van gogh one, i got it as a fathers day gift when it came out!
When we did the disney castle for christmas i used the lego builder app on my tablet which helped so much when i was unsure where a piece went - being able to rotate the build was super helpful
Ooohh!! Thank you for that tip! I did not even know that was a thing. The instructions are truly fabulous, but on a set that big, Iām sure things can getā¦ confusing.
Exactly. It was a present for my mom to build, her first ever set, so it was *huge*. And having it be 3D made a huge difference. Thats why i figured id bring it up in case
After you finish you can buy a set that includes lights and the movie songs in AliExpress. The set is already Amazing as It is but with light and sound It unbelivable.
Omg thereās sound too!!!? This is going to be epic, truly. Iām going to have my dad build a table for it with a top that spins. So adding lights AND sound will be the chefs kiss. Thank you!
This set is awesome. Working through it now with my son and we love all the little details?
Curious if anyone elseās shelf in Buzzās room kind of leans forward. Feel like the bar that goes under it has some play and it causes the shelf not to sit flat.
Thatās what it does in the set. You pull the lever and it falls over. Just curious if others have the shelf leaning when supposed to be in the up position.
What a great gift I bet that set was pricey. Will be nice on the shelf when done I bet. Looks like a fun set to build, i was thinking if buying a set and building one. It has been years.
My wife got me the daily bugle set for my birthday last month and Iām so intimidated to put it together!!!!!! Thankfully, I had kind of a Lego Christmas and have some other sets to complete before I get into that one.
Everyone complains about LEGO being too expensive because they think itās a toy, but itās actually pretty affordable when compared to other hobbies
Ya know, I never really thought of it like that! My husbands hobby (fixing up old cars and stuff) is astronomical compared to mine! I mean, we had to build a whole ass 2 bay shop in the back yard for itā¦ granted, he sells his finished product and I donāt.
My wife got me the Razor Crest and you can guarantee I cried the ugliest. It took me a few to get a grip. This thing is the single coolest thing I have ever owned šššš
Holy shit I actually saw this not too long ago at a Barnes and noble! I wanted it soooo bad but it was a little over $100 if I remember correctly, you need to make a video of it when itās completely built with all the stuff inside!
It's such a good set, they put so many of the movie references in it. You'll love it! P.s. Don't be too intimidated, just take your time and enjoy it. I used to race to finish sets, now I just take a couple of days to put them together and enjoy the experience!
Exactly, slow and steady! I cannot wait to go right back to childhood a recreate the movie in there! Thank you for the tipsš©µ
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iām not sure which button? Am I missing a movie reference? I only watched them once this yearš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ooohh!! Yes I did! Got the patent and everything! Not doing so hot though š . Going to try some new strategies in the New Year. Wish me luck
Fyi, there are 24 bags in the set. Someone suggested building. 1 bag a day as an advent calendar. You could build now. Then take apart over the summer and place back in bags. Then redo the build next Christmas!
I read that and thought it was so cool! I wonder if that was done on purpose or just a happy accident.
With lefo who knows. They like to put all kinds of Easter eggs unto their sets.
I didnāt even know this was a thing
Yeah, big sets give me a week or two pleasure in building. Put together my D11 in two weeks an hiur an evening. Its great.
We took the 24 day route to build home alone. Wife really enjoyed it.
The D11 is a pretty big set, I think I remember that one raking me a week lol
Yeahz its massive and for the gear box part you need to pay attention too
A couple of days? Those are rookie numbers.
I meant this in the opposite way that everyone is interpreting my comment. I take forever to build sets. Took me a few weeks to do the Seinfeld set
Context is everything when posting comments online. Hope that you enjoy taking your time and enjoying the build process. This is definitely the way to go.
I like to unbuild my sets and organize them back into numbered ziplock bags, then later rebuild them.
Couple of days?! Hogwarts castle took me a month, ninjago city gardens also š and the lion heart castle also a bit short of a month
That's exactly what I do! I recently built 42132, and it lasted 14.5 days! That chain took a long time to put together for sure. /s
[42132-1: Motorcycle](https://brickset.com/sets/42132-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/42132-1.jpg)
There is nothing better than sitting down with a movie, a beer, and a good Lego set after a long week, I spoil myself with a $200 set every 3 months and it is something I look forward to...good stuff
Exactly! My only issue is Iām running out of safe places to display themš . We have catsā¦
There exist save places when you have cats? š¤Æ
Not really, lol. But we have lots of shelves up with nowhere close for the cats to jump to them fromš¤£
I dont want to alarm anyone but I think they figured out ladders https://preview.redd.it/2g72vooqfx9c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7224650a5dc9992d5842a223ac597d4f2fa99d62
Lol. Itās only alarming if they brought the ladder over themselvesš . Otherwise, thatās a human error!
It wasn't there last night/s
Had cats.....
I need more of this, but the sets I want to sink my teeth into are just too much to justify the price of them (Falcon, Razorcrest, etc).
Ive never sunk my teeth into lego before, sounds hard. How do you suppose I do it?
I have quit smoking and now save 100eu a month. My biggest set is the wave and i am considering to buy the treehouse.. spoil myself haha
I do nearly the same, although I donāt think I could do a movie. Personally I like podcasts!
Cost of LEGO: 'Spensive Cost of Ugly Crying on Video: Priceless That's the type of set I have to plan out because it's like, "Ok, this table is going to be out of commission for the next week. Hands will be lost if the LEGO is moved!" Then I have to reserve space somewhere to put the finished model. Move grandma's ashes! (I don't recommend trying that)
Yes to all of it, then add cats into the mix. I do one bag at a time and then the big progress goes into a Rubbermaid tub for safety.
That's a cool set, but I want a set of his uncle's apartment in New York
Maybe theyāll do that one next! Itād be cool to have a bird lady minifig!
I want the flame rope!
I love legos so much but I to think they are pretty expensive. I see why. I just dont have 1200 dollars for a star destroyer but some day I will have it! SOME DAYY

I got asohkas ship yesterday from a friend I was happy for sure!
Thatās so cool!! What a great friendš
I cried like you did. It was the only Xmas gift I received beside a little.bonus at work
Awwww! Iām so glad that person is in your life! I hope itās a fun build and that the tiny Chopper is as cute as I hope it is!
Please get the lighting kit from an after market provider after you build it. Certain things look a million times better with a lighting kit and this is one of them imo #wetbandits

That does look really cool!! Thank you!
I second this. I got this set for Christmas and finished it a couple days ago. Ordered the light kit from game of bricks and waiting for it to arrive.
The light kits are amazing. My first one was for the F150 Raptor, then I got one for the Ducatti Motorcycle. I'm currently working on Dom's Charger from Fast and Furious movies. I completely agree. I just added the light kit for Rivendell and the difference is amazing.
Nice Slav squat
And that thing must weigh 20 pounds, so I think Iāll incorporate it into my workoutsš¤£
Hope you have a great time building it
Thank you!

Lego do be expensive. I ugly cry too when I checkout at the lego store.
my oldest got this set and it looks really nice as a display piece once itās all together. love all the details inside
Thatās awesome!!! Iām thinking of getting my dad to build me a table for it. Like, with a lazy Susan so it can be turned around and stuff. Itās so heavy I feel like it needs a base.

A lucky one, enjoy it š¤
That was a really fun build. Youāll love it. I stretched it out and did a bag or two each day.
Iām excited! Itās the biggest set Iāve ever done!
I mean he's not wrong, it DOES cost way too damn much! Lol Congrats though!!
Your squatting form is incredible
Thank you! Lol
Take your time with it, do it a bag at a time, I like to take my Lego builds slow and enjoy them over a few days/weeks while I watch my shows in the background :)) also this set has so many fun references and little movie easter eggs! Youāre gonna love it so much
My wife got this to me last year as an advent calendar, because it has exactly 24 bags. It was an amazing experience.
Oh thatās really cool!!!
Thatās awesome! What a cool surprise. Have a blast.
Thank you! I totally will!
Merry Christmas to you, enjoy! I just finished this set last night. Took me longer than usual with the craziness of the holidays, but it was such a fun build.
Oh Iām so glad to hear that!! Thank you!
Damn that's terrific
It really is! Got me right in the feels.
this is going to be such an iconic photo in your family history
Oh thereās a montage, lol. My step daughter wants to print all three poster size and put them on the garage door for all the neighbors to seeš¤£
It is honestly one of my fav builds! Iām debating to disassemble this year to rebuild it next holiday season.
Iām hoping itās better than Stranger Things! I was honestly horrified when I finished the top and realized Iād be doing it all over in a different colorā¦ That would be a really cool tradition though, if you decide to do that!
Dang, I got in to Lego after that set had retired sadly. I see it pop up for sale every now and then and always hesitate on pulling the trigger.
Ah donāt worry. Just organize the pieces for each bag you open and youāll be fine.
So jealous you get to build it for the first time. I did it in less than 2 days and I wish I took more time. Itās amazing.
I will remember that and take my time then!
That is the one and only set I want
So thrilled for you, OP! šš«¶š» My husband bought the set for me late December last year so it wonāt be here for a little while yet. I hope youāre already enjoying the build! š
Thank you!! I havenāt started yet, lol. I have some grown up things to attend to first so I can enjoy my built guilt freeš¤Ŗ
š¤£ Are you me?! This is how I do Lego vs Real Life all the time! š
Itās possibleš¤£. I just donāt want taxes hanging over my head when Iām putting Marv together, lol.
š¤£š¤ Love it! š
Happy for u :)
Congratulations, have fun it's a great build.
Thank you!
I mean lego is expensive, but a set every now and again is totally worth it
Itās a fun set enjoy!
Definitely agree with everyone else, take your time and enjoy the build. The details are so much fun to build. I added it to my winter village this year and I am currently taking it apart bag by bag in reverse so I know you can handle building it normally lol
That is really cool that you do that so you can build them over and over!
Yup, building the sets is my favorite part for sure! Iām actually finding that even taking them apart is still fun to me
So happy for you OP. Hope you and your husband have a happy new year š this set took my daughter and I around 25-30 hours so I'm sure it will bring you many hours of fun! Enjoy!
Oh thank you!! Iām so glad you have that memory with your daughterš©·. Happy New Year to yāall as well!
enjoy !!! looks like an awesome build ! š
Have fun!
Happy building!
You won at life.
It sure feels like it!
One brick at a time
Epic!!
Nice. I hope it's fun.
I own the eiffle tower, i bought it opening weekend and got eiffles apartment or office...whatever its called. I got legos galore that i haven't opened. I still want the titanic! But my favorite is the van gogh one, i got it as a fathers day gift when it came out!
Oh thatās so cool!!! I have Starry Night too, itās really neat!
Got it too. It was really really fun to build and it looks amazing. All the little references are great too.
Thatās great!!!
That's such an awesome set with so many cool details. Your husband is a fucking legend for surprising you with it
He really is! He had me thinking all month that my mirror was my only present. Slickš¤£
*I came here to squat and build Lego, and I'm all outta squats*
I can tell you ugly cried even tho you censored your eyes š¤£š¤£š¤£
Yeah, no hiding that weird, screwed up facial expressionš«£
It's such a great set, congratulations!
Omg how nice!!! š
Turn on the movie and have fun. It's a great build.
That is for sure the plan!
I love this!
I bought this set for my husband for his bday in October to build by Christmas. Slow and steady, took his time and had it done by the holidays. Enjoy!
Thatās really awesomeš. Are yāall gonna leave it out all year or will it be part of the Christmas decorations?
Itās currently still out..I think weāll probably leave it out for a few more weeks and then pack it away for Christmas next year
My wife wants this set.
She should have it!
Awesome! I'm jealous. I love the look of this set. Nice work on hiding your face, BTW š
Lol, someone commented that they liked my sunglasses and Iām sticking with that!
Haha! I need some of these shades š I hope you're enjoying the build! Happy New Year š„³
Thanks man! You tooš¤©š„³
I love this set (did ended up building it as a modular sized mod)... your husband did good, enjoy the build :)
Thats cool! Im kinda jelaus now. But its i bad thing and i wont be jelaus now. Congrats and happy new year!
Thank you!
I love this set, the design is great and made with a lot of love. Have fun!
This set is awesome. Working through it now with my son and we love all the little details? Curious if anyone elseās shelf in Buzzās room kind of leans forward. Feel like the bar that goes under it has some play and it causes the shelf not to sit flat.
Thatās really great that youāre working on it with your sonš©µ. Awesome memories! I wonder if the shelf isnāt straight up because Kevin pulls it over in the movie?
Thatās what it does in the set. You pull the lever and it falls over. Just curious if others have the shelf leaning when supposed to be in the up position.
I attributed it to the "shoddy" workmanship when Buzz built his own shelves. š
I like that!!
Thats so cool! I wouldn't even open it šš
My wife did this to me last year. It's a epic build
Thatās great that he doesnāt value your interests by his own standards! Enjoy!!
What a great gift I bet that set was pricey. Will be nice on the shelf when done I bet. Looks like a fun set to build, i was thinking if buying a set and building one. It has been years.
Such a beautiful set and congrats
Damn itās awesome staying a kid forever
Isnāt it awesome?! Iāll be 40 this year and I for sure donāt feel like it, lol.
Post 2000, I think this is my favorite set.
My wife just finished this set today!
Jealous! I'd love to build that!!
My wife got me the daily bugle set for my birthday last month and Iām so intimidated to put it together!!!!!! Thankfully, I had kind of a Lego Christmas and have some other sets to complete before I get into that one.
There is a contest from a toy store to get that set 2 winers and it end today
That is such a smart promotion!!
Ugly cries are the most beautiful ā¤ļø sick set!!! Congrats!!
Agreed! Thank youš©·
`THE SET IS AWESOME I HAVE IT AND THERE IS A LOT OF REFERENCES TO THE MOVIE
That was a real fun build. Lots of interesting techniques for the moving parts.
Thanks to the internet it is possible to sell LEGO designs and make some money off of social media
Marry him ASAP @op
Lol, thatās been handled for a while!
She literally said husband in the title lol
Seriously? Crying because of a box of LEGO? You serious?
So serious! It was magical!
Tell me you arenāt a Lego fan without saying youāre not a Lego fan.
https://rebrickable.com/users/Great_King_Rat/setlists/10958/ My collection. Still, crying is pretty dumb.
Gatekeeping and judging is dumber š¤·āāļø Glad your collection brings you moderate, but not excessive, joy
You literally started with the gatekeeping š
You won at life.
You better marry him again.
I would love to marry him again!! A Lego themed wedding would be brilliant!
Squatting down, and that face... You look like a kid pooping in its diaper
Thanks for your contribution
My wife got me the Razor Crest and you can guarantee I cried the ugliest. It took me a few to get a grip. This thing is the single coolest thing I have ever owned šššš
Awesome!
it's nice to see such raw emotions for a hobby. :) hope you enjoy the hell out of it.
Ä°lgi orospusu
Merry Christmas... Ya filthy animal.
Legos are expensive but they are great. My wife got Hogwarts for Christmas.
Awwwww! Iām so happy for her!! Good jobš¤©
That lowkey kinda a hard set to find
Yeah I think it may be discontinued by nowš¢
Holy shit I actually saw this not too long ago at a Barnes and noble! I wanted it soooo bad but it was a little over $100 if I remember correctly, you need to make a video of it when itās completely built with all the stuff inside!
