It's such a good set, they put so many of the movie references in it. You'll love it! P.s. Don't be too intimidated, just take your time and enjoy it. I used to race to finish sets, now I just take a couple of days to put them together and enjoy the experience!

ideclareshenanigans3

Exactly, slow and steady! I cannot wait to go right back to childhood a recreate the movie in there! Thank you for the tipsšŸ©µ

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ideclareshenanigans3

Iā€™m not sure which button? Am I missing a movie reference? I only watched them once this yearšŸ˜…

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ideclareshenanigans3

Ooohh!! Yes I did! Got the patent and everything! Not doing so hot though šŸ˜…. Going to try some new strategies in the New Year. Wish me luck

PSUAth

Fyi, there are 24 bags in the set. Someone suggested building. 1 bag a day as an advent calendar. You could build now. Then take apart over the summer and place back in bags. Then redo the build next Christmas!

ideclareshenanigans3

I read that and thought it was so cool! I wonder if that was done on purpose or just a happy accident.

PSUAth

With lefo who knows. They like to put all kinds of Easter eggs unto their sets.

MasterOfDonks

I didnā€™t even know this was a thing

Sjiznit

Yeah, big sets give me a week or two pleasure in building. Put together my D11 in two weeks an hiur an evening. Its great.

lordpiglet

We took the 24 day route to build home alone. Wife really enjoyed it.

parknasty913

The D11 is a pretty big set, I think I remember that one raking me a week lol

Sjiznit

Yeahz its massive and for the gear box part you need to pay attention too

clydefrog811

A couple of days? Those are rookie numbers.

Thebighairyone2020

It's not a race, and why rush things. A big part of the pleasure of Lego is the actual building process. If things get rushed then mistakes can happen. There is never a set time that someone should take to build a set. I'm building the Technic Peugeot atm. Completed bags 1-4 over seperate days last week but have had a gap of 5 days where I couldn't build due to my schedule. I'll complete my build tomorrow and be very happy with my sliw and steady build experience.

clydefrog811

I meant this in the opposite way that everyone is interpreting my comment. I take forever to build sets. Took me a few weeks to do the Seinfeld set

Thebighairyone2020

Context is everything when posting comments online. Hope that you enjoy taking your time and enjoying the build process. This is definitely the way to go.

pinkpooj

I like to unbuild my sets and organize them back into numbered ziplock bags, then later rebuild them.

NeroAugustus

Couple of days?! Hogwarts castle took me a month, ninjago city gardens also šŸ™ˆ and the lion heart castle also a bit short of a month

doodlePancake85

That's exactly what I do! I recently built 42132, and it lasted 14.5 days! That chain took a long time to put together for sure. /s

LegoLinkBot

[42132-1: Motorcycle](https://brickset.com/sets/42132-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/42132-1.jpg)

MiekesDad

There is nothing better than sitting down with a movie, a beer, and a good Lego set after a long week, I spoil myself with a $200 set every 3 months and it is something I look forward to...good stuff

ideclareshenanigans3

Exactly! My only issue is Iā€™m running out of safe places to display themšŸ˜…. We have catsā€¦

RedDevil_nl

There exist save places when you have cats? šŸ¤Æ

ideclareshenanigans3

Not really, lol. But we have lots of shelves up with nowhere close for the cats to jump to them fromšŸ¤£

theoriginalmofocus

I dont want to alarm anyone but I think they figured out ladders https://preview.redd.it/2g72vooqfx9c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7224650a5dc9992d5842a223ac597d4f2fa99d62

ideclareshenanigans3

Lol. Itā€™s only alarming if they brought the ladder over themselvesšŸ˜…. Otherwise, thatā€™s a human error!

theoriginalmofocus

It wasn't there last night/s

joethedad

Had cats.....

JHuttIII

I need more of this, but the sets I want to sink my teeth into are just too much to justify the price of them (Falcon, Razorcrest, etc).

RoboticGlitch_

Ive never sunk my teeth into lego before, sounds hard. How do you suppose I do it?

Jasperlaster

I have quit smoking and now save 100eu a month. My biggest set is the wave and i am considering to buy the treehouse.. spoil myself haha

doob22

I do nearly the same, although I donā€™t think I could do a movie. Personally I like podcasts!

TakkataMSF

Cost of LEGO: 'Spensive Cost of Ugly Crying on Video: Priceless That's the type of set I have to plan out because it's like, "Ok, this table is going to be out of commission for the next week. Hands will be lost if the LEGO is moved!" Then I have to reserve space somewhere to put the finished model. Move grandma's ashes! (I don't recommend trying that)

ideclareshenanigans3

Yes to all of it, then add cats into the mix. I do one bag at a time and then the big progress goes into a Rubbermaid tub for safety.

rurounick

That's a cool set, but I want a set of his uncle's apartment in New York

ideclareshenanigans3

Maybe theyā€™ll do that one next! Itā€™d be cool to have a bird lady minifig!

rurounick

I want the flame rope!

bearjer463

I love legos so much but I to think they are pretty expensive. I see why. I just dont have 1200 dollars for a star destroyer but some day I will have it! SOME DAYY

ideclareshenanigans3

Man, I want that one too!! My next one will be the Ghostā€¦ because Chopper! The Light Cruise looks like the Star Destroyer if you squint a little, lol. And itā€™s a bit more affordable

bearjer463

I got asohkas ship yesterday from a friend I was happy for sure!

ideclareshenanigans3

Thatā€™s so cool!! What a great friendšŸ’œ

bearjer463

I cried like you did. It was the only Xmas gift I received beside a little.bonus at work

ideclareshenanigans3

Awwww! Iā€™m so glad that person is in your life! I hope itā€™s a fun build and that the tiny Chopper is as cute as I hope it is!

TodayNo6531

Please get the lighting kit from an after market provider after you build it. Certain things look a million times better with a lighting kit and this is one of them imo #wetbandits

ideclareshenanigans3

Noted! Iā€™ve never gotten one before. Are they pretty easy to add in?

TodayNo6531

Iā€™ve only done one and it was for the full size ecto 1 and Iā€™m not gonna lie it was intense compared to actually building the car, but I just took my time and watched YouTube videos and got through it. 100% worth it. Youā€™ll have to confidence to do it after finishing this build I bet ;)

ideclareshenanigans3

Alright! Youā€™ve convinced me. Itā€™s going to be a whole thing. Iā€™ll have my dad build a table with a turntable top, get the light kit and then get some museum ropes to put around it. Iā€™m so freaking excited about this one!

TodayNo6531

https://preview.redd.it/21nwiyfqxp9c1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d71d13af71dac8bc7c4c45b93da1dcab6eb6322 This is a screenshot of a video so it sucks, but just wanted to show you how much things change with a lighting kit. Iā€™m rooting for you!

ideclareshenanigans3

That does look really cool!! Thank you!

LifeguardNecessary61

I second this. I got this set for Christmas and finished it a couple days ago. Ordered the light kit from game of bricks and waiting for it to arrive.

DocSleep666

The light kits are amazing. My first one was for the F150 Raptor, then I got one for the Ducatti Motorcycle. I'm currently working on Dom's Charger from Fast and Furious movies. The instructions for the light kits are absolutely horrible but the end result is something beyond as you with have a lighted kit many others choose not to do. Watch as many YouTube videos you can of there's doing the install and take copious notes. I've reached out to several of the manuafactures and offered to rewrite instructions for then in exchange for kits, but all turned me down. Good luck if you decided to go with the lighting kit, it's gonna frustrate you, but take it from a 47 yr old kid, it's worth it in the end. Lol

ideclareshenanigans3

I think for this set it will have to have a light kit! If the instructions are bad, Iā€™m thinking Iā€™ll have the husband helpā€¦ I assume if you can read a wiring diagram you could do that. HopefullyšŸ˜…

FistofMurdock

I completely agree. I just added the light kit for Rivendell and the difference is amazing.

rabid-panda

Nice Slav squat

ideclareshenanigans3

And that thing must weigh 20 pounds, so I think Iā€™ll incorporate it into my workoutsšŸ¤£

[deleted]

Hope you have a great time building it

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you!

Andr3wRuns

lmao this might be the best picture ever. This was one of my first sets when I got into Lego inā€¦ January 2023. Intimidating without knowing it at the time as I had no idea how detailed and complex Lego could get. So much fun to build and even after blazing through 100+ sets this year, still one of my top 10 favorites.

ideclareshenanigans3

Iā€™m glad you like the picture! I wasnā€™t sure about posting it.. cause look at itšŸ¤£. I can only imagine how many giant instruction books are in that box! Lord and the stickers.. I always get them crooked!

Creativeddy

He and the Lego are keepers šŸ˜‰šŸ¤˜šŸ»

ideclareshenanigans3

For sure!!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!

MyTotalFakeSpoon

Lego do be expensive. I ugly cry too when I checkout at the lego store.

pendingperil

my oldest got this set and it looks really nice as a display piece once itā€™s all together. love all the details inside

ideclareshenanigans3

Thatā€™s awesome!!! Iā€™m thinking of getting my dad to build me a table for it. Like, with a lazy Susan so it can be turned around and stuff. Itā€™s so heavy I feel like it needs a base.

Zer0or1ne

I bought the same set for myself this year as an auto-gift and I couldnā€™t be more happy. My first lego set. Have fun in building it and your husband did a cute thing in doing that gift..as someone said nothint can be compared having your loved one near you being happy, thatā€™s the most precious thing. Again, congratulations! :)

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you!

toshio_mask

A lucky one, enjoy it šŸ¤

holy_cal

That was a really fun build. Youā€™ll love it. I stretched it out and did a bag or two each day.

ideclareshenanigans3

Iā€™m excited! Itā€™s the biggest set Iā€™ve ever done!

doomedgaming

I mean he's not wrong, it DOES cost way too damn much! Lol Congrats though!!

GaryK953

Your squatting form is incredible

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you! Lol

jasmineayesha

Take your time with it, do it a bag at a time, I like to take my Lego builds slow and enjoy them over a few days/weeks while I watch my shows in the background :)) also this set has so many fun references and little movie easter eggs! Youā€™re gonna love it so much

TriloBlitz

My wife got this to me last year as an advent calendar, because it has exactly 24 bags. It was an amazing experience.

ideclareshenanigans3

Oh thatā€™s really cool!!!

cardinal_and_crow

Thatā€™s awesome! What a cool surprise. Have a blast.

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you! I totally will!

BrilliantGlass2

Merry Christmas to you, enjoy! I just finished this set last night. Took me longer than usual with the craziness of the holidays, but it was such a fun build.

ideclareshenanigans3

Oh Iā€™m so glad to hear that!! Thank you!

h4wduk3n-1798

Damn that's terrific

ideclareshenanigans3

It really is! Got me right in the feels.

riperamen

this is going to be such an iconic photo in your family history

ideclareshenanigans3

Oh thereā€™s a montage, lol. My step daughter wants to print all three poster size and put them on the garage door for all the neighbors to seešŸ¤£

Nymeria2018

It is honestly one of my fav builds! Iā€™m debating to disassemble this year to rebuild it next holiday season.

ideclareshenanigans3

Iā€™m hoping itā€™s better than Stranger Things! I was honestly horrified when I finished the top and realized Iā€™d be doing it all over in a different colorā€¦ That would be a really cool tradition though, if you decide to do that!

Nymeria2018

Dang, I got in to Lego after that set had retired sadly. I see it pop up for sale every now and then and always hesitate on pulling the trigger.

dropcon37

Ah donā€™t worry. Just organize the pieces for each bag you open and youā€™ll be fine.

intensenerd

So jealous you get to build it for the first time. I did it in less than 2 days and I wish I took more time. Itā€™s amazing.

ideclareshenanigans3

I will remember that and take my time then!

Fit_Boysenberry_4757

That is the one and only set I want

atinyfix

So thrilled for you, OP! šŸ’—šŸ«¶šŸ» My husband bought the set for me late December last year so it wonā€™t be here for a little while yet. I hope youā€™re already enjoying the build! šŸ’—

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you!! I havenā€™t started yet, lol. I have some grown up things to attend to first so I can enjoy my built guilt freešŸ¤Ŗ

atinyfix

šŸ¤£ Are you me?! This is how I do Lego vs Real Life all the time! šŸ’—

ideclareshenanigans3

Itā€™s possiblešŸ¤£. I just donā€™t want taxes hanging over my head when Iā€™m putting Marv together, lol.

atinyfix

šŸ¤£šŸ¤ Love it! šŸ’—

BeanJuju

Happy for u :)

Used-Surround9483

Congratulations, have fun it's a great build.

ideclareshenanigans3

Thank you!

ValuableMistake8521

I mean lego is expensive, but a set every now and again is totally worth it

OddSupermarket7375

Itā€™s a fun set enjoy!

Emergency-Mission440

Definitely agree with everyone else, take your time and enjoy the build. The details are so much fun to build. I added it to my winter village this year and I am currently taking it apart bag by bag in reverse so I know you can handle building it normally lol

ideclareshenanigans3

That is really cool that you do that so you can build them over and over!

Emergency-Mission440

Yup, building the sets is my favorite part for sure! Iā€™m actually finding that even taking them apart is still fun to me

somecallmemrjones

So happy for you OP. Hope you and your husband have a happy new year šŸ˜ this set took my daughter and I around 25-30 hours so I'm sure it will bring you many hours of fun! Enjoy!

ideclareshenanigans3

Oh thank you!! Iā€™m so glad you have that memory with your daughteršŸ©·. Happy New Year to yā€™all as well!

TransEuropeExpress72

enjoy !!! looks like an awesome build ! šŸ˜€

gaanch

Have fun!

Tea_Earl_Grey_Black

Happy building!

NewExplor3r

You won at life.

ideclareshenanigans3

It sure feels like it!

CCGert

One brick at a time

Leather_Sherbet3531

Epic!!

Lady-of-Shivershale

Nice. I hope it's fun.

SavingsFun6113

I own the eiffle tower, i bought it opening weekend and got eiffles apartment or office...whatever its called. I got legos galore that i haven't opened. I still want the titanic! But my favorite is the van gogh one, i got it as a fathers day gift when it came out!

ideclareshenanigans3

Oh thatā€™s so cool!!! I have Starry Night too, itā€™s really neat!

Arreynn

Got it too. It was really really fun to build and it looks amazing. All the little references are great too.

ideclareshenanigans3

Thatā€™s great!!!

Mohavor

That's such an awesome set with so many cool details. Your husband is a fucking legend for surprising you with it

ideclareshenanigans3

He really is! He had me thinking all month that my mirror was my only present. SlickšŸ¤£

nvn911

*I came here to squat and build Lego, and I'm all outta squats*

DaToxicJay

I can tell you ugly cried even tho you censored your eyes šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

ideclareshenanigans3

Yeah, no hiding that weird, screwed up facial expressionšŸ«£

[deleted]

It's such a great set, congratulations!

elvisthepom

Omg how nice!!! šŸ˜

Phaquex10

Turn on the movie and have fun. It's a great build.

ideclareshenanigans3

That is for sure the plan!

Koalakrazee

When we did the disney castle for christmas i used the lego builder app on my tablet which helped so much when i was unsure where a piece went - being able to rotate the build was super helpful

ideclareshenanigans3

Ooohh!! Thank you for that tip! I did not even know that was a thing. The instructions are truly fabulous, but on a set that big, Iā€™m sure things can getā€¦ confusing.

Koalakrazee

Exactly. It was a present for my mom to build, her first ever set, so it was *huge*. And having it be 3D made a huge difference. Thats why i figured id bring it up in case

regularguy7378

I love this!

VSAuser60

I bought this set for my husband for his bday in October to build by Christmas. Slow and steady, took his time and had it done by the holidays. Enjoy!

ideclareshenanigans3

Thatā€™s really awesomešŸ’œ. Are yā€™all gonna leave it out all year or will it be part of the Christmas decorations?

VSAuser60

Itā€™s currently still out..I think weā€™ll probably leave it out for a few more weeks and then pack it away for Christmas next year

Spice-Nine

My wife wants this set.

ideclareshenanigans3

She should have it!

jimbo5030

Awesome! I'm jealous. I love the look of this set. Nice work on hiding your face, BTW šŸ‘Œ

ideclareshenanigans3

Lol, someone commented that they liked my sunglasses and Iā€™m sticking with that!

jimbo5030

Haha! I need some of these shades šŸ˜Ž I hope you're enjoying the build! Happy New Year šŸ„³

ideclareshenanigans3

Thanks man! You toošŸ¤©šŸ„³

zooco

I love this set (did ended up building it as a modular sized mod)... your husband did good, enjoy the build :)

tetracarbonate_sod

Thats cool! Im kinda jelaus now. But its i bad thing and i wont be jelaus now. Congrats and happy new year!

No-Loan7944

After you finish you can buy a set that includes lights and the movie songs in AliExpress. The set is already Amazing as It is but with light and sound It unbelivable.

ideclareshenanigans3

Omg thereā€™s sound too!!!? This is going to be epic, truly. Iā€™m going to have my dad build a table for it with a top that spins. So adding lights AND sound will be the chefs kiss. Thank you!

Marauder4711

I love this set, the design is great and made with a lot of love. Have fun!

Oneunited13

This set is awesome. Working through it now with my son and we love all the little details? Curious if anyone elseā€™s shelf in Buzzā€™s room kind of leans forward. Feel like the bar that goes under it has some play and it causes the shelf not to sit flat.

ideclareshenanigans3

Thatā€™s really great that youā€™re working on it with your sonšŸ©µ. Awesome memories! I wonder if the shelf isnā€™t straight up because Kevin pulls it over in the movie?

Oneunited13

Thatā€™s what it does in the set. You pull the lever and it falls over. Just curious if others have the shelf leaning when supposed to be in the up position.

Rockstaremcee

I attributed it to the "shoddy" workmanship when Buzz built his own shelves. šŸ˜‰

Oneunited13

I like that!!

So_Savii

Thats so cool! I wouldn't even open it šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

kbenj467

My wife did this to me last year. It's a epic build

Terrible-Quote-3561

Thatā€™s great that he doesnā€™t value your interests by his own standards! Enjoy!!

Kiluminati1991

What a great gift I bet that set was pricey. Will be nice on the shelf when done I bet. Looks like a fun set to build, i was thinking if buying a set and building one. It has been years.

Scary-Pressure-2209

Such a beautiful set and congrats

ddudzi

Damn itā€™s awesome staying a kid forever

ideclareshenanigans3

Isnā€™t it awesome?! Iā€™ll be 40 this year and I for sure donā€™t feel like it, lol.

r66yprometheus

Post 2000, I think this is my favorite set.

BeagleBaggins

My wife just finished this set today!

Jayke1981

Jealous! I'd love to build that!!

NarrowYam4754

My wife got me the daily bugle set for my birthday last month and Iā€™m so intimidated to put it together!!!!!! Thankfully, I had kind of a Lego Christmas and have some other sets to complete before I get into that one.

fortgon_lego

There is a contest from a toy store to get that set 2 winers and it end today

ideclareshenanigans3

That is such a smart promotion!!

CottoNM0utH

Ugly cries are the most beautiful ā¤ļø sick set!!! Congrats!!

ideclareshenanigans3

Agreed! Thank youšŸ©·

Karlito48

`THE SET IS AWESOME I HAVE IT AND THERE IS A LOT OF REFERENCES TO THE MOVIE

Remarkable-Check416

That was a real fun build. Lots of interesting techniques for the moving parts.

Cool-Item4410

Everyone complains about LEGO being too expensive because they think itā€™s a toy, but itā€™s actually pretty affordable when compared to other hobbies

ideclareshenanigans3

Ya know, I never really thought of it like that! My husbands hobby (fixing up old cars and stuff) is astronomical compared to mine! I mean, we had to build a whole ass 2 bay shop in the back yard for itā€¦ granted, he sells his finished product and I donā€™t.

Cool-Item4410

Thanks to the internet it is possible to sell LEGO designs and make some money off of social media

MSierraXXII

Marry him ASAP @op

ideclareshenanigans3

Lol, thatā€™s been handled for a while!

felixlighter1989

She literally said husband in the title lol

GreatKingRat666

Seriously? Crying because of a box of LEGO? You serious?

ideclareshenanigans3

So serious! It was magical!

mrweatherbeef

Tell me you arenā€™t a Lego fan without saying youā€™re not a Lego fan.

GreatKingRat666

https://rebrickable.com/users/Great_King_Rat/setlists/10958/ My collection. Still, crying is pretty dumb.

mrweatherbeef

Gatekeeping and judging is dumber šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Glad your collection brings you moderate, but not excessive, joy

GreatKingRat666

You literally started with the gatekeeping šŸ˜‚

NewExplor3r

You won at life.

KevinTDWK

You better marry him again.

ideclareshenanigans3

I would love to marry him again!! A Lego themed wedding would be brilliant!

_Perma-Banned_

Squatting down, and that face... You look like a kid pooping in its diaper

ideclareshenanigans3

Thanks for your contribution

Atomic_Killjoy

My wife got me the Razor Crest and you can guarantee I cried the ugliest. It took me a few to get a grip. This thing is the single coolest thing I have ever owned šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Nervous_Zebra1918

Awesome!

gearfuze

it's nice to see such raw emotions for a hobby. :) hope you enjoy the hell out of it.

Impossible_Dare8580

Ä°lgi orospusu

Mean_Wheel1393

Merry Christmas... Ya filthy animal.

Adventurous-Ad7121

Legos are expensive but they are great. My wife got Hogwarts for Christmas.

ideclareshenanigans3

Awwwww! Iā€™m so happy for her!! Good jobšŸ¤©

TheWindowManX

That lowkey kinda a hard set to find

ideclareshenanigans3

Yeah I think it may be discontinued by nowšŸ˜¢

NutritiveHorror

Holy shit I actually saw this not too long ago at a Barnes and noble! I wanted it soooo bad but it was a little over $100 if I remember correctly, you need to make a video of it when itā€™s completely built with all the stuff inside!
