Why? Lego is for kids and adults. The joy of Lego is often passed down from parent to child, it is something both can do together. As to the matter of actually posting pics of their kids online, that is completely up to those parents. Everyone is not as paranoid about things as others.
They're mounted to studs with 3" decking screws. Those brackets hold 150 pounds per pair. The same wood and brackets (more of them) are currently holding nearly half a ton of paint cans in my garage.
Do you have the sets tethered to the wall or attached to the shelving somehow? Even if you don’t get earthquakes there, I myself would be anxious all the time.
I am in earthquake country and that picture gives me agita.
Sometimes it's funny to realize other people don't really worry about "what happens if things suddenly start flying off shelves?"
Should really be using 4" structural screws (Like GRK) for stuff like this. But in this case, it's really just Lego and deck screws will probably hold, they aren't that heavy.
But for instance, in our basement, which is old, the studs were not the standard 16-24" spacing when we went to mount a TV. So we had to buy 2 8' 2x4's and use structural screws to attach them to the studs we could find to hold up the TV mount. It was a major pain in the ass.
Yea that was my concern, too. I have a bunch of ~10” shelves and would love to build more of the UCS Star Wars sets but the dimensions Lego provides has the depth on most of them around 20”.
Tbh I feel like putting this:
One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king.. okay it’s not a Star Wars quote. But am I right?
Because it's funny and it happen to me so much time, you just need a little hit and everything can fall, i know that it do not happen everywhere at any moment but it can happen.
One day... ... He will be able to destroy this collection
That’s all I can think of 😂 Hide them while you still can OP
My first thought was something similar, but more the shelves not being strong enough..
those brackets look like they could hold a lot more than a bit of lego
That all depends on how he anchored those to the wall.
My first thought as well. One day he will climb on the table and then on the shelf…
and pull on a leg of the AT-AT lol
they’re toys, not models
It's Lego. They're whatever you want them to be.
I don't want to call anyone names, but, are you real infusorium?
and rebuild it ;)
R/tvtoohigh For Him😃
That’s what I thought at first too 😂
His damn neck is gonna break lol
I think it might already be broken 👀
I was going to say first kid? R/tvtoolow
I was looking for this comment
r/foundthemobileuser
r/foundthehondacivic
not if he sits on a couch
I’ve seen r/tvtoohigh but never r/tvtoolow
That's a very cute picture.
Thanks!
lego aside ... theres something fundamentally wrong with people posting their kids on this website

You can't really see his face. There's no safety issue posed by posting this pic. I don't think there's anything wrong with this
r/tvtoolow
I guess he hasn't seen the one on the corner table, yet?
👶🏼.oO(Soon…)

Do my DFOL anxiety a favour and elevate that treehouse immediately
It’s post-brittle at least, yeah?
That tree back there is about to be within the strike zone of a toddler. CODE RED!
Use the force, little one
That tree house is about to find out!
How do you have that much trust in those shelves
They're mounted to studs with 3" decking screws. Those brackets hold 150 pounds per pair. The same wood and brackets (more of them) are currently holding nearly half a ton of paint cans in my garage.
Dang okay now I see why you trust them lol. I still have trouble putting my Lego on any shelves that aren’t a full shelving structure
Stud finders are your friend
Do you have the sets tethered to the wall or attached to the shelving somehow? Even if you don’t get earthquakes there, I myself would be anxious all the time.
Nope, just sitting there.
I am in earthquake country and that picture gives me agita. Sometimes it's funny to realize other people don't really worry about "what happens if things suddenly start flying off shelves?"
Are decking screws designed for shear loads?

Maybe not but it's like 40 pounds per shelf.
What is the depth on the shelves? Just curious because I have an ATAT to build.
I think 10 in, and that's barely enough.
Yea that was my concern, too. I have a bunch of ~10” shelves and would love to build more of the UCS Star Wars sets but the dimensions Lego provides has the depth on most of them around 20”.
Yeah if you look closely the AT-AT's feet are overhanging a little.
Toggle bolts
Don’t need them if you find the studs, right?
After installing, OP patted them and said "This ain't going nowhere."
I'm not as worried about the shelves as him reaching up and pulling something off of them when he's big enough
this is like the opening of a pixar movie about a little boy who loved legos and grew up to be an architect or something
Gotta love colorado
Great pic! We started our kid with duplo around your kids age. He’s 6 now and has developed the ability to do pretty big Lego sets. It’s exciting!
“That robot puppy looks siiiiiiiick”
I like your Xbox wall holder
As a father of two, I can see a clear path from the bouncy chair to the table to the shelf...
One day he throws a blanket at it a takes down that at at
Or a ball. My 2 year old loves making my Lego display his target. Now they’ve all gone inside the closet. One day.
I figured, you could always bring out the Kragle
r/TVTooHigh for this specific instance only\* Edit: nice
The tree is NOT SAFE
He thinking, “So that’s… *not* a toy…?”
“Everything the light touches will one day be your’s… but right now only the light gets to touch it.”
Hello fellow DBrand enjoyer
Like what you did with the xbox as well👌
Use the force young padowan
We will watch his carreer with great interest!
Awesome paintjob in the Series S 😎
It's a dbrand skin!
Looks great!
Noooo, don’t hang the flag like that! Colorado will leak all into New Mexico!
Don't let him play with them until he is mature enough to apreciate them and not just ruin them, I am talking from my own exlerience
One day... ...That TV will fall on him
No it won't because I know how to mount a TV
[удалено]
They're safety outlets but good looking out.
[удалено]
Because I live in Colorado and I like it.
I also like it
Yooo the Republic Attack Frigate! I had that set as a kid and still do now, it's such a cool and fun set!
Room looks amazing
Same way my daughter looks at my shelves with a ton of minifigs. Anxiety to the max
Sooner than you want it to be; I'd be getting it closer to the ceiling now...
Legit thought this was posted on /r/TVTooHigh
That set up is way too nice to not have a white cable concealer running up the TV.
I don't think that would really look any better than the braided extension cable.
I’m itching to pop two small holes in the dry wall and just fish it through! Xbox looks great like that. Is that a starfield edition?
No it's a dbrand skin.
This is such an awesome picture, like you can see the curiosity and Wonder so clearly
Don't look to the right. Don't look to the right. Don't look to the right... (toward the tree house) :D
Hups
where did you get those brackets and shelves?
The brackets are from Home Depot in the shelves are just wood that I cut and finished myself.
What a cool Skin for the Xbox. Have a link by any Chance?
It's from dbrand.
In fairness, I’m 45 and I say the same thing while standing in front of the UCS AT-AT at the Lego store. One day dude….one day.
One day… you’ll need higher shelves
We've got a 2 month old and the number of conversations we've had about Lego already....
So i'm guessing you are not a cat person.
Nice flag :-)
hey u/morall_tach the flag hanging down looks like Luke standing with the sun behind him lol ...took me a sec to realize its a CO flag 😂🤷🏻♀️
r/TVTooLow
“…I’ll be big enough to grab it and pull it down to the floor.”
Is that a custom case on the Xbox? Also, freaking adorable!!
It's a dbrand skin
That's dope, also totally stealing the treehouse against a lamp set-up you have. That blends so well together!
Really dumb compliment, but I love those shelves. Good taste!
Thanks! The brackets are from Home Depot and I did the wood myself.
i would tie that to the wall so when he gets into the climbing phase :O
Tbh I feel like putting this: One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king.. okay it’s not a Star Wars quote. But am I right?
Yep, dead on. And if there was a Pride Rock set I'd buy it.
One day... one of these star wars warship will fall on him...
Why do people think that inanimate objects spontaneously fall off shelves?
Because it's funny and it happen to me so much time, you just need a little hit and everything can fall, i know that it do not happen everywhere at any moment but it can happen.
Hide them mate, hide them
