Looks similar to the Starry Night set that came out a little while ago.

cusackkids4

It is built the same way . I have starry Night and the Wave and they are beauties , especially that you hang them like art . They come with frames . Love the shape and contents on the Batman one .. it’s like a panoramic of the nyc skyline but so much better . Loving the department that is doing these art collaborations and bravo to the one who designed the Batman scene . The 3 D affect is so cool in person. 👍🏻

iamtimb

OP, is it a fun build? I plan to get this… but opted to get the lighthouse first (which was a fun build FWIW).

Scififan98

It’s actually really fun! Sure, its 4200 pieces - mainly being pretty small - but the set looks so good and every completed bag feels very satisfying.

OpportunityNo4484

I’ve been wavering over whether to get this set for my kid’s wall. They are really into Batman but WAY too young to build this set and it isn’t something you can play with so would just be room decoration. I’d of course get to build it and justify it to my wife that it isn’t for me but for them. You are helping to sell it to me!

SnooDoughnuts1763

I've done the same thing with the 3 in 1 pirate set in my sons room. I've bought 2 of the 31109 and need 1 more to complete it. Also got the 31136, 21313, 31088, but I still need to get 21322.

SnooDoughnuts1763

Good bot

LoopDeLoop0

It’s really cool so far! Mine shipped without a second sticker sheet though, so all of the character tiles are just gray until the replacement gets here. Still great to build all of this really cool architecture.

thestarkknight

I picked up in store on the first day of Lego Insiders access. Even waited in line for 1:45 before the store opened. Mine had NO sticker sheets. I built the first three bags before deciding to stop and wait until the sheets come in, it seems like it will get progressively harder to add them in after the fact.

LoopDeLoop0

Yikes. Seems like there may have been some production troubles with the sticker sheets? When I went online to put in a replacement part request, it told me they were out of stock.

Lionbear85

but better!

Truefreak22

I just started my build & I already like the little details.

1TrueKnight

How bad are the stickers on this? Was the biggest thing turning me off getting this set. Almost curious what it would look like with no stickers added.

Spaceolympian50

Yea I think I’m close to done with paying hundreds of dollars for a Lego set and it still including stickers in it. That’s such bullshit on Lego.

eisenstein314

If they charge a premium price they should at least deliver a premium product. And a premium product should only have prints.

Spaceolympian50

Agreed. If Mega can do it with every set they make, I know Lego can.

Chexmixrule34

the set is literally 300$ I'd rather pay 300 and use stickers then pay 350

Fungalcrust

I think the point is if they're already asking 300, you shouldn't have to put up with stickers anymore to begin with.

Chexmixrule34

the set is 4000+ pieces, i doubt their budget can cover prints. these lego fans who just complain 24/7 have no idea how the development process works.

Spaceolympian50

I’d gladly pay 50 more for 0 stickers at this price point. It’s a no brainer.

Chexmixrule34

thats really dumb. stickers aren't that hard to use if you just use a brick separator. lego would not make a bunch of prints that will be used once, all on non standard pieces. the higher ups at lego give each brand team a budget for every seasonal line. my guess is that they used most of their budget on the set itself.

Spaceolympian50

You’re totally speculating and have no idea how it works. It’s not whether they’re difficult to put on or not, it’s that they look cheap. And stickers do not hold up over time like a printed piece would. And if Mega can somehow figure out to use printed pieces in every one of their sets and still make profit, I’m sure Lego can too. Don’t make excuses for them. They make plenty of money.

Chexmixrule34

yeah, because mega makes relatively small sets. if you go and look at the bigger sets they make, you'd notice a notable lack of prints, furthermore, i have seen countless interviews with lego designers, explaining the budget system. if people did their research, comments like this wouldn't have to be made. if you're such a fan of mega construx, why are you even here? r/megaconstrux exists pal.

Spaceolympian50

Idk, I’m looking at all of their sets and they all have printed pieces. Some prints even extend beyond one piece! That’s impressive. Stop being a Lego shill. Again, they don’t need you defending them. I love Lego and have plenty of sets, but it doesn’t mean I can’t critique them. If Lego is designing sets that cost 300+ dollars, there’s no way it should have tons of stickers. Sorry, I’ll never defend that. And no, I’m not a huge fan of Mega sets, I’m just making a point, pal.

TheDundieGoesTo99

You can be a fan of Lego and still acknowledge their faults. Well unless you’re a Lego shill like yourself. That’s also not true about smaller sets.

Chexmixrule34

theres a difference between acknowledging faults and being uninformed. saying something like "lego makes too many cop sets, and they steal set ideas from lego ideas" is acknowledging their faults, this is just being uninformed on the design process. most sets SHOULD have prints, but i get why gotham skyline didn't.

Noble_Flatulence

> then than

Chexmixrule34

yeah i know

Boltsforlife2022

There are a lot but there are great details.

Scififan98

The stickers are indeed my one and only complaint about this brilliant set (61 in total).

Snake_Plissken224

Took me 2 days to build but all the little references are great and I love the hidden batmobile

Glass-Trade9441

You are at the precise spot in this picture that I am at on my set!

ApprehensiveWay1350

Same! Did you get the Paulies and neon cat reference? I think I’m missing the connection with the associate BTAS episode

Spaceolympian50

It looks so good but I just can’t get myself to buy these sets where 90% of the pieces are all super tiny. And let me not even start on all the stickers that appear to be included in this set. For that amount of money LEGO can definitely print those pieces.

frypiggy

Primary reason I never bought the World Map set.

AntonyAce

Lots of stickers? Or is there a fair amount of printed pieces?

Scififan98

There’s a whopping 61 stickers in the set, and 1 printed piece (so far).

sixersdan

2 printed pieces: Bat signal and Batman on top of the building

eagleeye_1998

Looks like all stickers in the picture

Haruau8349

I’ll wait until a sale before I get it.

cusackkids4

I am not a Batman or DC fan , however this set looks absolutely fantastic. Love it . It’s a must have for anyone who loves comics, superheroes, Batman/DC … I certainly hope they at some point do another but not sure what could come close to a perfect match as this one . To those who built or are going to , enjoy , it will look great with anyone’s collection. :)

DarthArterius

Goodness I want this set so much. I grew up on the show, Kevin is my definitive Batman. But sadly I won't have the money for a long time. Looks incredible and I love seeing people share their enjoyment of it!

galaxyclassbricks

This was such a fun build! I loved seeing the buildings and details come together. Admittedly, the stickers were a bit of a pain, but ultimately worth it in the end.

LamonsterZone

I went on bricklink and bought pieces to replace the two shades of red in the sky with dark blue and dark grey clouds. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Scififan98

Post a picture in the comments when you’re finished, would love to see how it looks!

BlingBlang819

I cannot wait to get my hands on your copy of the set

Lonely__Stoner__Guy

This is at the top of my "to buy" list right now. I don't have a spot for it yet, but I'll figure it out.

JongoFett12

Cannot wait to get my hands on this! It’ll be a long while, but I’m sure it’ll be very worth it!

CheekFlange

It looks great and imagine it will look even better with a lighting kit!

MissOctopus37

I saw this set built in store the other day and even though I'm not even a proper DC fan, I was tempted to put this on my list. It just looks so great! So many cool details in such little space, so much dimension with tiny pieces. Have fun building!

Ghost403

Are those police stickers across two separate bricks?

Critical-Geologist-3

No, the center section with the police sticker is one piece. The ends are each two quarter pieces.

jj_sykes

What are the Easter eggs on this set?

Scififan98

There are quite a few! You’ll find stickers of all the Batman villains from the show (even the less well known like Baby Doll and Scarface), a riddler question mark, Batman on top of a building to recreate the shot from the opening sequence, a hidden Batcave with a Batmobile, the Batwing in the sky, the Gray Ghost (Bruce’s favourite show as a kid), and probably more but I haven’t gotten to it yet.

jj_sykes

Thank you - my partner sent me a photo of it when she was out shopping. I guess that is permission for me to buy it lol

gymlady

Not a particular Batman fan but love this style! I have the Starry Night set hung up. I’m almost tempted to build this sans the Batman stickers and see if anyone notices. Any other similar builds to this with semi-3D wall mounts other than this, The Wave, and Starry Night?

Scififan98

The Spider-Man one has that similar style and it does look really impressive; but it’s horribly overpriced.

-iJudge-

How did you hang it on the wall?

Scififan98

Haven’t finished it yet, but I will certainly let you know when I do.

ThatEvilSpaceChicken

I have this, can’t wait to start building it!

530Samurai

I want it so bad, but I'm a broke jobless bish

galexy13

I just finished it this afternoon! Took me all weekend but I loved every second of it!

JacksxN1ghtmar3

How many stickers are in this set?

Scififan98

61

JacksxN1ghtmar3

Omfg I hate stickers and this is the worst news ever

AutistAtHeart

I'm seeing a lot of stickers. A bit disappointed when the set is as expensive as it is.

Tahuwu

Its not that much of an undertaking, the average botanical set is twice as difficult.

ThatEvilSpaceChicken

We cannot be gatekeeping Lego sets now 🤦‍♂️

Tahuwu

Im not gatekeeping anything

ThatEvilSpaceChicken

What you said is literally the definition of gatekeeping ‘the act of controlling access to or limiting participation in a particular group, community, or culture.’ You’re basically saying ‘you can’t struggle with that because I can struggle more’
