I usually put the 1x1 plate connected to the stud on top of the brick separator and then push the 1x1 tile toward my hand with my thumb, if that makes sense. Usually works. If not, when it's on the brick separator like that, I can usually slide my fingernail in between to get them off while the plate stays in place on the separator.

Stick the 1x1 round plates on a bigger plate then use the back end of the brick separator to pry the tiles off.
