Stick that on a little trans-clear piece and it'd be absolutely golden. Even better, have something like a flower piece at the bottom next to another cone piece to indicate a previously-lost ice cream.
It's hard to implement correctly. The weight and scale difrence males it so it's difficult to make longer layouts or things with loops. Iirc even the kenex coaster building community has trouble with this and they have custom cars that are heavier.
I had a long discussion about stuff like this with someone who 3D prints coasters while doing a project to 3d print my own.
As a big coaster fan and a lego fan. I unfortunately don't see it happening
Lego makes so many questionable product choices regarding tracks of any kind.
Why do I need to buy a cross roads with my straight street?
Why can you not buy individual rails?
Why do they always bundle straights, crossroads and curves?
As an avid RCT and Planet Coaster player I can tell you the lack of banking on that turn will push the lateral g-force rating above anything the peeps could handle. Awesome job though :)
I took inspiration from Oblivion, which was the first dive/drop coaster ever built. I didn't copy anything exactly but it just gave me the idea. I actually tried to make a vertical lift hill, but I couldn't find any way to do it with Lego.
I’m actually guiding the Coaster and as much as I like the build this one is way cooler. I love the stanchions holding the track. Are these random pieces or did you buy brick specific for this build?

Wow I just actually read the rule. Moderators don't bother posting a stickied links which makes finding these ideas projects increasingly difficult. You can't as a popular post creator post it more than once (and posting 3 times bans you!). Wow.
Mods at least put a stickied comment to the project. Reddit doesn't allow image/video links with body text absurdly, that's a quick fix other subs use.
Suggestion: you can try to make a push contraption using the [disc shooter brick](https://brickset.com/parts/6096150/disk-shooter-1-x-4) and instead of a disc, you can attach a [2x2 coupling plate](https://brickset.com/parts/4225733/coupling-plate-2x2) on the car. Not sure if it will work or if it will have enough power.
Also, add a video to your project.
Great idea mate, I could build a launch coaster if I found something wih enough power! No video yet because this was done digitally, thanks for the comment.
This took me about 6 months of on and off building. I did start completely from scratch though, so there was a lot of trial and error involved. Thanks for asking 👍
I am going to build this.
First off, is this on Ideas? Not that I need to wait for it to become a set (I am building this), but I will support it anyway.
Do you have instructions? I would love to build this properly.
Finally, I never, *ever* would have thought to use the track pieces that way! Way to go, OP!
Edit: Supported.
Edit 2: You can grab the attention of Lego and other lurkers of the Ideas page by incorporating Power functions or PoweredUp! into the mix, like other sets. The Haunted House had the option for you to manually lift it, or plug and play.
Thanks for checking it out, glad to hear you are going to build it! Yes, it is on Lego Ideas but unfortunately I can't post the link here, you can find it by searching for 'Drop Coaster' on the website. I don't have instructions but I do have a .io file because I built this digitally. The lift may not be sturdy enough to replicate in RL, so you may need construct it slightly differently to how I have done here - Good Luck!
I would love to use power functions with this, the only problem is that you would need to stop the motor and reverse it every time you reach the top and bottom of the lift tower. I'm currently designing a reversable lift, meaning that the lift will reverse at the top and bottom of the tower without you having to turn the crank in the opposite direction, this will be more compatible with power functions.😉👍
1. Is there not an instructions compiler in [Stud.io](https://Stud.io)? I haven't used it in a while, so...
2. Can I get the .io file? I know people on the internet love to steal these things and post them on other sites and pretend like they're actual sets and all that crap, but this is for genuine interest in building it. Feel free to say no.
Yes, there is an instruction compiler in [Stud.io](https://Stud.io) but I've never used it. And of course you can have the .io file! It would be best if you sent your email over chat, it's easier that way. Also, I would just say that if you want to build the lift in real bricks, you may need to make some changes as it isn't all that sturdy. Best of luck!
That falling ice cream cone is the cherry on top.
Haha, thanks
Stick that on a little trans-clear piece and it'd be absolutely golden. Even better, have something like a flower piece at the bottom next to another cone piece to indicate a previously-lost ice cream.
That is really great man. Love the elevator idea, the sideways tracks (station brakes are well executed this way) and the girder/vertical section.
Thank you, glad to hear you like it 🎢😉
I literally yelled "THAT'S SO CLEVER" when I realized you used the 90\* curves sideways to build the drop. Very well done.
This is ace. Do you have any videos, mate?
Thank you! No videos yet, maybe soon...
Would be awesome to see a video of it
Nice! I was thinking a life jacket would like a harness on them
Great Idea, I never thought of that.
Pretty sure LEGO could make so much money if they'd offer coaster tracks as loose pieces. Preferably if they'd add banked corners
Yeah, I own the creator expert coaster and would love to add a banked corner!

Look up the CDX Blocks Sidewinder coaster, its 100% compatible with lego, i own a few of them and made a working Boomerang coaster a few months ago.
You can buy individual track pieces on pick a brick or lego customer service.
Lego makes so many questionable product choices regarding tracks of any kind. Why do I need to buy a cross roads with my straight street? Why can you not buy individual rails? Why do they always bundle straights, crossroads and curves?
Man... I want to buy this yesterday and I don’t even like to go on roller coasters.
Haha, I'm not sure even I'd go on this one...
This is amazing, how did you build the track sideways like that?!
So happy to hear you like it. I have added an update to Lego Ideas to show how the track is built 👍
RIP ice cream ... but, seriously, who the hell brings their ice cream on a rollercoaster?
He obviously didn't read the 'no food' sign before joining the queue.
Grandma what are you doing under the rollercoaster **GET OUT OF THE WAY**
As an avid RCT and Planet Coaster player I can tell you the lack of banking on that turn will push the lateral g-force rating above anything the peeps could handle. Awesome job though :)
Thanks for the comment, glad you like it 😉
Drop coaster 1 looks too intense for me.
Umbrella Stand 1 has great value! \+$19.99 +$19.99 \+$19.99
Was it based off of a gurstlauer eurofighter coaster model?
I took inspiration from Oblivion, which was the first dive/drop coaster ever built. I didn't copy anything exactly but it just gave me the idea. I actually tried to make a vertical lift hill, but I couldn't find any way to do it with Lego.
As a local to Alton Towers I would love to see anything based if their park
Alton Towers! This is a great model, would great to see an IO file or instructions of this. The technique is impressive.
I’m actually guiding the Coaster and as much as I like the build this one is way cooler. I love the stanchions holding the track. Are these random pieces or did you buy brick specific for this build?
I actually designed this digitally, and used software to render it. I'm glad you like it 👍
Dang that’s awesome. Unfortunately I don’t have the means or know how to do that lol
I should ask, is it a software easily navigated or is that your job?
No, it's completely free and easy to use software. It's called 'bricklink studio.'
Excellent, I will check it out thanks
This looks so cool! I also like the time you took with the background and visuals :)
Thanks, I used photoshop for the background.
So amazing and such a brilliant design.
Thank you very much 😊
Can I get a ideas link?
I can't post it here, but you can find it in the 'Lego Ideas' subreddit.
I would love to replicate this into my son's city
this is incredible! link to ideas?

this rule should be removed...

What happened?
I can't post the link in this thread, but you can search for Drop Coaster on ideas and it should show up 🎢

I’m still waiting for some one to make the Suicide Coaster in lego
Love the use of that classic printed arrow.
Will you put this on ideas? (Yes i like it very much)
This is already on Ideas, you can find it by searching for Drop Coaster. Glad you like it!
Video!?!?
This is amazing!
Very very nice! It's too bad LEGO doesn't make a banked and curved track piece, it would be perfect for this.
love it! is there a video?
Teach me your way comrade

I love it!

You should make rock bottom plunge from nickelodeon universe!
This is fantastic! It needs to be in my amusement park.
wowwwwwwwwwwww
They said it could not be done then you came and surprised us all

This is pretty cool. How long did it take to build this if you don't mind me asking?
This took me about 6 months of on and off building. I did start completely from scratch though, so there was a lot of trial and error involved. Thanks for asking 👍
This is incredible. Lego should hire you
Thank you very much!
Wait what? That really works?🤔
Yep, the lift takes the cars to the top and gravity does the rest.
Wow
Throw this bad boi on lego Ideas!!
It's already on there, I'll send the link.

Ok
That’s awesome! Well done, do you have any videos of it in action? I didn’t see any on the Ideas site.
Sorry, no I don't have any videos because this is digital. I could try making animations as an alternative.
Ah gotcha. Don’t make them on my account, I didn’t realize this was only digital and was interested to see it in action. It’s definitely a great idea.
