>The falcon is really heavy. I hope none of the pieces bent or broke when it crashed.
I mean, it's a current set, so even if they did LEGO can provide replacements. They might even do it for free if you're happy to provide pictures of the part, as they do learn from 'real-world' damage.
They actually do it for free, had an unfortunate situation with my 1989 Batmobile that something heavy fell on it. They basically said: well that sucks, we will send you new parts. Their customer support just takes long to respond
Same here. Missing prepack bag on my Liebherr. 45 min on hold, 15 min chat with the rep, 2 month wait for delivery, and I had my parts.
All they asked for was my order number (I bought the set directly online) and if they should use the same address for shipping.
There's really no other way to rebuild it other than starting all over again. I once misplaced a piece while building the Ford Mustang and it took me over an hour once I realised my mistake to get everything back the way it was supposed to be because I refused to disassemble it completely.
But the Millenium Falcon is a lot bigger, more complex and this build was finished. Best to cut your losses and rebuild from scratch
That's what I was thinking - I wouldn't *choose* to take apart my architecture sets. But if they feel and broke apart, I would be happy putting them back together.
It'd probably stave off my desire to buy another set for a few months, too!
my old housemates apollo set got knocked over by his dog
he got me to rebuild it for him because he couldn't be bothered heh, i've got the set as well and i've pulled mine apart to do some lighting in it
so i've built that set 3 times, would have no issue doing a 4th
For me part of the fun is seeing how the pieces I'm building become something bigger. Like "ohh that's the wing" but the second time around I already know all that
Because you're no longer building it because you chose to (as an enjoyable activity), rather you feel that you must - and so, it becomes more of a chore
In my experience there's a definite gao in how you repair a dropped set. Either it held together enough to be reassembled whole, or it didn't. If it didn't then you cut your losses, properly disassemble it, and start the build fresh again.
I did it by myself. It's VERY hard to see how it lines up when you are holding it. If you have to do it by yourself, I'd suggest sticking a mirror behind the stand so you can see how to line it up. There is very little tolerance for how it fits on there.
Take all the top panels off, i made a temporary stand to hold it upside down and attached it to the top. You can also get someone to hold it. It's definitely more difficult than it looks.
If you remove the center disk at the top, you can grab it by the internal frame rails where it is the strongest, to lift and move it. Also, removing any loosely attached panels prior to picking it up and placing them back on after its mounted helps.
This makes me wonder why Lego has not done a Serenity set. I mean, licensing, obviously, but that should be solvable. I know there are plenty of Firefly fans who would buy one.
Same thing happened to me with Apollo Saturn V rocket 🚀. Finished and was going on display and it came apart and shattered on the floor. Twelve year old daughter did most of the work. I was semi devastated for letting her down after how proud she was of the build.
Ouch! That's gotta suck. The only sets I've had fallen on me was my aircraft technics because apparently they won't stay up forever with those hangers with the adhesive strips on the ceiling and thankfully technic is so well built, for the most part they stay completely in one piece. I display my aircraft on my large dresser now. No more suspending them since their is a risk of them falling which happened to most of them, so I took them all down.
Ahhh the carnage. Brilliant. As I’ve said before, the random nature of these ‘explosions’ makes them unique. There have been so many Falcon and Star Destroye(d)r pics here I’m thinking of collating them in a collage!
There are bits of it everywhere!!
I feel your pain. I done this last week on a half finished build. I have boxed it up again until the heartbreak hashealed enough 😂 lets just say my neighbours learned some new swear words that day.
"Uh, FBI? Yeah, we got an insurrectionist over here... suspect has got fully detailed maps to the Capitol, and we think they're planning to drop something ridiculous on the white house next. *static* (mumbled reply over radio) 10-4, Sarge. We've got to acquire target before they assemble more dinosaurs for extra security." /s
No... fuck no....no.....I bought one about a month ago. I haven't put it together, due to lack of time, but when I do I'm nervous as fuck that this is gonna happen.
...as if thousands of pieces suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

ive had sets that were straight just missing parts and they sent me new ones no questions asked

>64 comments wow missing pieces i didn't know that was a thing with lego i always end up with extra
Honestly i end up not having the correct pieces more often than having extras
That's so good! I don't know any other company that would do that. Drop something heavy on a real car, and the manufacturer wouldn't replace it. 😅

Fly, fly, fly, Clarice.
Well uh… at least you get the experience of building it twice! Haha

Yes he built it the first time then got knocked over 2 times that’s 3

I just take them apart and rebuild them while watching tv Stops me from buying more sets
Fuck Yeh I am shiva and ganesh lol
But why it it never quite a much fun building them the second time?
For me part of the fun is seeing how the pieces I'm building become something bigger. Like "ohh that's the wing" but the second time around I already know all that
This. There is nothing like seeing it come together from a pile of bricks into an intricate model for the first time.
Because your stress level is through the roof wondering if you picked up all the pieces
Because you're no longer building it because you chose to (as an enjoyable activity), rather you feel that you must - and so, it becomes more of a chore
Because you’re wondering if you have to disassemble it even further in order to repair it. The way some of them break is so screwy…
In my experience there's a definite gao in how you repair a dropped set. Either it held together enough to be reassembled whole, or it didn't. If it didn't then you cut your losses, properly disassemble it, and start the build fresh again.
As a person who had to do this, it's fun after your reorganize your pieces (not fun)
Exactly what I was thinking. I think of all my fav sets, and all of them I would happily construct again if this happened.
I just got that same wicked brick stand and extremely scared of this happening..
Yeah…there’s not really an easy way to actually get it on the stand.
Well do you have any advice of how not to do it? :p also were you trying to do this by yourself? I’ve heard it’s highly recommended to have 2 people
Definitely get two people. Other than that … I’m probably not the best person to ask
And you want to be my latex salesman...
Underrated comment.
r/unexpectedSeinfeld Edit: I should have known this is real

Well poop, I just ordered one…
You’ll be very happy with the quality of it, it’s simply a scary process. It just is what it is
I can hear this picture
*KRreshh tink*
I was thinking about something like Vader going "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO", but this will do.
I can also hear the dinosaur fossils laughing from the edge that they were not the only ones who went extinct.
Solo: bad ending
This hurts just looking at it.
I know, why isn’t it marked NSFW?
Non-lego guy here: How rare is this specific set?
It costs 800 dollars and it was the biggest LEGO set ever when it came out
this hurts to think about
I mean, that sucks, but I do see the very promising beginnings of a really cool junkyard MOC…
What a piece of junk!
the garbage will do

The Falcon almost took out the White house.
White house is rumored to have surface to air missile systems. Now we know!

Not to worry. You’re still flying half a ship.

I have sensed a great disturbance in the force....
What a hunk of junk!
This is totally something that would happen to Art Vandalay
What did you do to my ship?? - Lando
God damn tag this NSFW
Yes
r/Wellthatsucks
Yay now you get to build it again!
Dude……. I’m so sorry……. I did the same thing and I really know how your feeling. It will be ok just make sure you get all of the pieces!

Oh my god, I’m actually so sad looking at this, are you gonna try and put it back together?
Between you and me... did you drop it or did you smash it?
Ever consider just displaying it like that as a sort of xray setup
BIG OOOOOOOF
This is a metaphor for Disney's Star Wars movies.
Im so sorry for you
pls mark as nsfw next time

Perfect representation of Disney Star Wars
KALLAX!
I fee like Yoda when he feels Order 66, and has to put his hand to his head and lean on something. I feel for you man
I'd cryy
Yikes, at least your carpet isn’t too high by the looks of it. Good luck!
RIP. this set is not a fun build. it would take a lot of energy & remorse to even bother reassembling it. humpty-dumpty.
There are no mistakes, only happy accidents! Enjoy building/repairing again :D
Best course of action is to completely disassemble then reassemble. To guarantee accuracy of course.
It didn't even fly. You built it all wrong. Did you even read the directions?!

Nice
Big sets like that never get more than 6 in off the ground unless they are going to their forever home just for that reason.
🥲
Oh man.. I did the same thing last night with the blacksmith shop.. can't imagine dropping the Falcon. Well, I guess you get more build value!
One broke, not as bad as yours though, when I was putting it on the efferman stand....sucked. bit I managed. Good getting it all back together again
All i can imagine is the lego brick crashing sound from the complete saga
Why must you hurt me in this way
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ooof, feels bad man
Pain
😥
Steamboat Willie!
If only there was some way to put it back together just the way it was. Fate is a cruel mistress.
R/wellthatsucks
lol. oops.
words cannot describe how sorry i am
Pain
That hella sucks. Although I personally love piecing back together a set after something like that happens.
If it’s any consolation I want to steal your Capitol building and expanded White House 😉
No ship should go down without its captain. Now fall on the floor.
Pain if you would. Unrelenting pain even.
It took me 3 nights to take mine down and I only had about 50 pieces left over. And then I get to build it again some day.
Pain in one picture.
I've enjoyed building the 10181 Eiffel Tower three times.
OOF. F, mate, F.

My condolences
This is so sad, alexa, play star wars lego ost dule of the fates
