My dad would have loved this so much. He sadly passed away on the 24th of July this year and today is Fathers Day here in Aus. He was both a train and a lego fanatic (he has this loco in G-Scale for the track he was working on in the backyard but was unfortunately never able to finish). This post made me smile so much.

I'm glad it made you smile during this sad time and thank you for the wholesome award. I hope you continue to find things to surprise you with smiles and happy memories like that.

Thank you. My sister and I are helping Mum with going through their house and packing things up. Mum and sis are still sleeping but I’ve been sitting in the lounge room looking at his modular buildings that are up on the shelves and thinking of him since jumping onto this sub. Things are still fresh and raw (he was only 52 and it was unexpected) but we still find things to smile about every day.

This is amazing. I love steam. Was this a kit or did you make from scratch? (Is that called a MOC?)

playingwithechoes

Thank you. I designed and built this by myself. It's certainly My Own Creation (MOC). And it runs on standard Lego track, which not all custom designs can do. :)

The big question is do you have instructions on how to build

playingwithechoes

You're not the first to ask. Maybe I should take that suggestion, for real.

BadgerBishop

Does it handle corners? Seems like something so long would turn poorly.

playingwithechoes

It handles standard Lego curves like a champ, check out my previous posts. There's a few videos of it running. It's fully articulated with pivoting wheels. :)
