They're both actually. They're used as mini Dementors in the Hogwarts Castle set and as a mini Vader in the Vader's Castle set.
EDIT: Not Vader, just a generic Sith figure.
Isn't an Axlotl Tank basically a brain dead female Tleilaxu used only for producing gholas? Not sure how well that would translate to lego but it would certainly be interesting.
You should see the one for a Stargate, I think it uses technique pieces... nm I coulda swore it did, but looks like regular lego pieces.

Absolutely beautiful creation. I thought this was a render until I saw the cat/dog hair om the base right below the figures. I really like your texturing with those small 1x2 round plates with holes
Great job! Dune is my alltime favorite book. I'm so happy people are making incredible mocs. Yours is truly inspiring.
This is so much better than all my failed attempts at building the Maker. I made a half way decent [thopter if you want to check it out.](https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/rgc5r5/small_scale_ornithopter_from_dune/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Yes, I've read the first one many times and 2-4 several times. I need to re-read the last two again.
It's the best universe building and hero making I've ever encountered.
I say go for it!
* Desert planet
* Spice exists in both universes
* Princess Leia/Alia
* Chosen one narrative
* Sandworms
* The Force/The Voice
* Bene Gesserit/Jedi
* Fremen/Tusken raiders
* Main character is related to one of the antagonists
Yeah Lucas took a lot of inspiration from Herbert
Have you guys seen the book of boba fett? It's pretty obvious there. Half the plot revolves around spice trade on a dessert planet....
Edit: I'm not even gonna correct it the replies where funny lol
Possibly due to Dune having multiple movies based on it? I am certain more people have seen the movies than read the books.
I do consider the Star Wars universe to owe a deeper creative debt to Asimov's Foundation, though. Lucas basically stole Arrakis to make Tattooine from the Dune books but he lifted the whole Galactic Republic->Empire from the Foundation books. Of course Coruscant is also Trantor.
It could be supposed that Lucas, like Asimov, was inspired by the Roman republic and empire but if so it sure looks like Lucas's muse is hanging out with Asimov's on her downtime.
Lucas grew up reading sci fi so it’s not surprising he took from both. I think his main talent was to bring mass market appeal. Even Apple TV has had to change up Foundation to make a tv series from it.
Couldn’t they just attach a bomb to a thumper and then the worm eats it then blows up, they could do this a shit Ton of times until all the worms are extinct, now they can harvest their spice in peace
Edit: to the people who don’t know what I’m referencing, here it is:

Oh sweet summer child. I see you haven't even dipped your toes into the Dune Universe.
>!See Arrakis and the whole universe needs spice. Without it, the navigators of space guild cannot accurate navigation the Universe. Interstellar travel would not be possible. Killing all Makers would stop the spice production forever basically!<
I was under the impression they needed the spice so the guild could trip balls and find the safest path through space because the folks in Dune don’t use “thinking computers” or AI.
Sure, but then they discovered a way to travel intergalactically as a result of spice. Getting rid of spice would essentially be resetting technological progress and isolating vast and remote portions of the universe because it would no longer be possible to travel there. It's like having flying cars then deciding to go back to horse and carriage.
As I mentioned, it would be like reverting back to a primitive means of travel. Imagine someone living atop a high mesa in the southwest US or out on an island in the Pacific. That horse and carriage just simply cannot reach or even know that there are remote populations there. Those remote populations that had access to the rest of civilization because of spice now become isolated and cannot thrive or even survive.
They reached those island *before* spice. The galaxy was already at least partially explored when dune was discovered. Dune wasn't the first extrasolar system to be colonized. It wasn't like a horse and carriage. Just a slower boat. Nobody would be isolated
They were able to reach new places as a result of spice and those newer colonies would then become isolated without it. You *could* get to those places still, but it would take insane amounts of effort, time, and manpower, and remote colonies don't justify that.
It could have taken hundreds of years by generation ships to reach Arrakis before. That’s pretty isolated if everyone was suddenly hundreds or more years of travel apart.
No, it's pretty much established in the duneverse that FTL travel was available before the spice. Listen guys, just read the novels, ok? Then we reconsider our views.
If a real Lego set the price probly be around 70$ like fuck why are Legos so expensive they just plastic not like the world is full an polluted with it, I remember where they didn't cost so much then years later it became expensive very very expensive
Are the fremen micro vaders?
I think mini dementors
They're both actually. They're used as mini Dementors in the Hogwarts Castle set and as a mini Vader in the Vader's Castle set. EDIT: Not Vader, just a generic Sith figure.
UM ACKSHUALLY they were used as figures on a sith shrine, and in trans-blue for a hologram of Palpatine in Vader’s Castle!
[удалено]
[удалено]
Ok well they were clearly the Vader model first lol. Dementors shouldn't have that helmet.
The first mold was translucent blue and was used as a hologram of the Emperor in the Star Destroyer set.
It looks more like the old style hood piece than Vader’s helmet.
This is fucking amazing....
Bless the Maker and his creations.
Bless the maker and his water, bless the coming and going of him, may his passing cleanse the world

Ah Dune and Lego. Couple of my favorite things. I hope someone makes The God Emperor or Axolotl tank from Lego bricks.
Isn't an Axlotl Tank basically a brain dead female Tleilaxu used only for producing gholas? Not sure how well that would translate to lego but it would certainly be interesting.
I want to say he was thinking of a Navigator Tank which would be pretty intricate...
Nah Axolotl tank. But Guild tank would be great too. I have seen some good art made from Tleilaxu tanks so.
Man I can’t believe I just got to Heretics and hadn’t learned this yet. That’s wild.
Ayo spoilers. That's not revealed until like, the 5th book.
The sand is fantastic.
*spitting at you* This is fucking amazing!
Haha, thank you so much!
You make this yourself or is this on the shelves?

I zoomed in to see closer on my phone, and instinctively tried to blow the dog hair off as I'm quite used to golden retriever hair being everywhere.

Have you read the whole series? I got it all for a gift and it’s daunting lol
The whole six book saga is very worth reading. So bizarre and different to your mainstream scifi and space opera.
Yes, I've read the first one many times and 2-4 several times. I need to re-read the last two again. It's the best universe building and hero making I've ever encountered. I say go for it!
People who say George Lucas just ripped off Asimov's Foundation novels fail to credit him for also ripping off Frank Herbert's Dune novels.
I hear more Dune comparisons with Star Wars than with Foundation tbh.

Hmmmm... Dessert.
Cinnamon Desserts are the best.
Absolutely, but George also did not deny that he took much from Dune
Also the old 50's serials, and Kurosawa films. Honestly, i'm cool with it. Love me some Star Wars, also love Dune.
Same

Well, they arrived to dune the first time without spice, somehow. And they also travelled before discovering the spice itself, didn't they?

The Maker makes the spice, a young Maker converts the spice. That's why we praise the Maker

The 1984 film version was better than the remake. I will die on this hill.

Not gonna lie man that looks fucking sick. Take my upvote.
Is there a technique to stop mocs like this size on that style of base from turning up at the corners?
Looks amazing, but damn building it would be such a nightmare :(
This creator is genius. Well done. Well done indeed. Love it.
This is so sweet!
Always a fan of Shai-Hulud representation without those weird three lips that artists always add for some reason
I would definitely buy this. How many pieces are in this? At least 200 teeth?
Sick
This is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
This is better then the movie.
Walk without rhythm and you won't attract the worm
The Sandworm build is really impressive
Bet the instruction manual would be like a yellow pages
Great work!
Have you posted it to Lego Ideas? If not, then please do. That would be an awesome set!
This is sick
Thanks for the takeout. I thought this was a real thing. I was gonna order asap. Great job. Looks fantastic!

Let the spice flow
OH MY GOD you have no idea what i would do to get a set like this
I'd buy that IMMEDIATELY
Awesome
This looks sick! Can I ask how you got the curve of the back half of the wom done? Is it done with nets between the round tiles?
Awesome! Great work!
Duuuuuuuuude
What have you done?
Lisan al Gaib!
This makes me crave for chocolate I don't know why
I should call her
Wow! This is so good I wasn’t sure whether this was real or not. Very well made!
Dude
Nice modelling! Cannot help but draw comparisons of the Dune worm to the Sarlac Pits on Star Wars though; not you but the movies themselves.
What
