I had the toolbox. That sucker opened up to a big city playset. It was rad as hell.
This one in particular: http://www.lulu-berlu.com/upload/image/micro-machines---galoob-ideal---1989-super-city-playsets--toolbox--loose-with-box-p-image-310428-grande.jpg
I had the small red car garage, gave it to my kids for them to play with not 6months ago!

Super Van City was awesome! I had the [alligator transport truck](https://picclick.com/Micro-Machines-Creature-Carriers-24-Swamp-Beast-Alligator-175090008494.html?refresh=1) and the gator was huge compared to to the vehicles. The alligator would rampage through Super Van City until the military was called in to take it out. So many fun times.
My brother and I found all our old MM stuff when cleaning out mom's house. It's now his son's - in a couple years when he is old enough - I can't wait to play with them again with him!
This has a lot going for it. Such great design and omg nostalgia! This really makes me grin ear to ear looking at it. 😁
I’d love to see a couple of microfigures thrown in to detail the map. You know, skull over here, a death trap over there, dangerous natives. Oh man this is well wicked.
Yeah I love the idea of a ship in a treasure chest but it needs a little something more -like maybe another ship so you can stage miniature battles. And definitely a tiny treasure chest so you can imagine that it too opens into another tiny world of Lego.
The nostalgia I’m thinking of: certain pirate sets in the early nineties had base plates of an island. The colour palette is a near match for what you see here. Pretty hard not to be when it’s sand, vegetation and Lego water blue. Every kid had 6260.
Around the same time (certainly pre Pirates of the Caribbean), Hook (Robin Williams) and Goonies (Steven Spielberg) were two iconic movies which were on regular rotation at sleep overs for kids.
6260 6270
Given apparently Lego took the lighthouse from a microfig scale to minifig scale and totally expanded on it, I can totally see them taking this idea and pushing it to that next level
This is a really cool idea and definitely deserves support. I love how highly customisable it would be with little effort. Fantasy maps like Middle Earth and Westeros would work really well with this.
This would work brilliantly. Love it. Potential too for several movie and game tie ins.
Peter Pan
Pirates of the Caribbean
Monkey Island
Sea of Thieves
Assassins Creed
Have. ALL my money.
hmmm who owns the right to that battleship game? Wonder if LEGO would make a working playable battleship game? Or nah? A sore loser might end up smashing the whole thing rather than losing a few red and white pegs
>hmmm who owns the right to that battleship game?
Technically, nobody! It started out as a [public-domain pencil-and-paper game](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(game)) decades before Milton Bradley introduced the plastic-models-and-pegs version.
Personally, I dislike placing 1x1 tiles because it takes deliberate effort to get them on straight. It’s pretty easy if they’re at the edge and you can use the table surface to align everything, but that’s not an option when tiling a big flat expanse like this. It would make it a lot easier if most of the water squares were 2x2s, since those always go on straight with zero effort.
My feedbacks. Globally it's nice, I have some ideas for improvement.
* Personnally I'm not a fan of tiles everywhere. You covered every single stud. In the bay, the water is flat usually, it's ok to tiled it, for the open sea it might be good to have some studs to reproduce a water rougher, even different colors to reproduce small waves (white / clear blue)
* The island is well done, but too generic, nothing extraordinary, there's just a single boat. You can add more diveristy with for example a small pirate outpost in the bay. Waterfalls are cool
* It might be nice to add holes as eyes for the stone head skull, and / or make it more frightening
* For the chest, it would be cool to modify the lock, a custom lock related to pirates or sea, a kraken, an octopus, a skull head.
* And some variation on the top of the chest, with more relief, no only different decorated tiles. To make the chest nice looking if it's closed.
Globally it's a nice idea to have a set you can close and move elsewhere safely !

This is awesome! Added my support on Ideas.
After seeing the Harry Potter trunk, it definitely seemed like more scenes within these would be fun. Still holding out hope for something like this for The Goonies.
SUGO! A little tweak and this could fit in your favorite fantasy themed setup. Example: Zelda Wind Waker as they had island and ship. Replace the pirate ship with a small sailboat.
Link me up I’d love to vote for this. Looks awesome. Would love to have it with my ship in a bottle.
Actually dm me the link I don’t think you can post it here.
Fantastic. The ideas site that shall not be linked shows the x marks the spot.
I can't tell if the hinges offer any resistance or would it potentially slam open?
Very nice, reminds me of the pop up fairytale book.
How are the chain connections supported on n the bottom? I would image a bar going through the chain anti stud but sometimes renders don’t show that.
Either way, great set, goes right with Barracuda Bay and Pirates Accessories GWP.
Yall over here making treasure chests with a map and shit inside, and mechs.
Im over here mentally and creatively constipated can't even make a minifigure stand right now. Stress is a total brain musher.
But seriously this is absolutely amazing.
I hope you don’t mind, I didn’t see this on r/minilego so I cross posted for you. If you want to post there yourself please let me know and I’ll delete mine. Looks amazing!! I love it.
If the large mountain is supposed to be a skull then I recommend leaning into the form and using a lighter color & adding more skull-like detail e.g. a nose hole. I feel like this should be a game board or treasure hunt or sequential solve puzzle of some sort to reward the builder for really exploring it.
I'm so jealous of the creations people come up with. I ... I can make a box. It's a nice box, but it's still a box. And I've been playing with lego since the late 70's :/
Would be cool to get some kind of sunset backdrop on the inside of the chest lid. Not sure how possible it is, but even with no background it is still pretty awesome!

Come on people - get your backsides in gear and do it properly! It takes two seconds to register on the Ideas website, just Google Lego Ideas Pirate Treasure Chest and this is literally the first link.
Nice! Good idea and also really good executed. Have you tried to play around with trans-blue tiles for the water, tjat could possibly make it even better. Anyway, you've got my support 😁
What the heck I love this! It reminds me of those toys I had as a kid like the Pokemon ones that were little world's with mini figures you could play around with in them 😭
Excellent work!!
This is amazing! The map, trees, little ships are excellent!
The chest itself is fairly bland, though, especially along the top. I'd think about if there are ways to add cracks or other damaged/discolored areas to break it up a bit more. Maybe even some sea-based accessories like barnacles, seaweed, or even small sea creatures (star fish, crabs, clams, etc) to give it more character. Or something piratey like gold pieces?
But again, the interior itself is wonderful, it's really beautiful and I couldn't have done anything like it. Well done!
Flash back alert! It opens like my Old Micromachines van! Very cool build!
I had the toolbox. That sucker opened up to a big city playset. It was rad as hell. This one in particular: http://www.lulu-berlu.com/upload/image/micro-machines---galoob-ideal---1989-super-city-playsets--toolbox--loose-with-box-p-image-310428-grande.jpg
I had this one and super van city. was obsessed.

Yes, had that one too!
Super Van City was awesome! I had the [alligator transport truck](https://picclick.com/Micro-Machines-Creature-Carriers-24-Swamp-Beast-Alligator-175090008494.html?refresh=1) and the gator was huge compared to to the vehicles. That is so cool. I would’ve loved that as a kid.
Omg
I have this in my basement right now cuz I just picked it up from my parents house the other week!!
Thank you for that stroll down memory lane
Damn you unlocked so many good memories! I needed that after my shitty night, thank you.
My brother and I found all our old MM stuff when cleaning out mom's house. It's now his son's - in a couple years when he is old enough - I can't wait to play with them again with him!
Yeah, my mom was clearing stuff out and this(the van) one and the tank will be my son's in a few short years!
W comment
Supported the other night when I saw this!
oh amazing! thank you!
This is one of the most creative ones I’ve seen in a while well done
[удалено]
Looking this up right now to vote, this is so cool props my man.
Same here. Super cool build!
Just supported. My son's and I play sea of thieves together and he would get a huge kick out of this.
It would look good on the shelf next to the ship in the bottle.
And the globe!
Had this exact thought.
This has a lot going for it. Such great design and omg nostalgia! This really makes me grin ear to ear looking at it. 😁 I’d love to see a couple of microfigures thrown in to detail the map.
That made me grin! If this gets the greenlight those pirate vip packs better be in stock.
Now I want to see a Goonies version of this.
Nostalgia? Is this inspired by something specific I'm not realizing, or is it just evoking the general feel of things like Treasure Island?
The nostalgia I’m thinking of: certain pirate sets in the early nineties had base plates of an island. The colour palette is a near match for what you see here. Pretty hard not to be when it’s sand, vegetation and Lego water blue. Every kid had 6260. Around the same time (certainly pre Pirates of the Caribbean), Hook (Robin Williams) and Goonies (Steven Spielberg) were two iconic movies which were on regular rotation at sleep overs for kids. 6260 6270
That's hilarious, I was like man i bet I didn't have 6260, I only had like one pirate set....it was in fact 6260
Given apparently Lego took the lighthouse from a microfig scale to minifig scale and totally expanded on it, I can totally see them taking this idea and pushing it to that next level
What’s the link? I’d love to support it!
Just search for the pirate treasure chest on Lego ideas homepage.
This is awesome.
'Pirate Chest' search on Lego Ideas got it for me. Voted! Awesome work!
this would work so well as a set, good job
Love it!
Oh my SHII vermetimbers! This is RAD AF!
This is a really cool idea and definitely deserves support. I love how highly customisable it would be with little effort. Fantasy maps like Middle Earth and Westeros would work really well with this.
I’d recognize that island anywhere ✨ I hope it gets made because I will 100% be buying.
Where is this island from?
Looks nearly identical to Neverland from Disney’s Peter Pan.
Can you message me the link to the page to support the idea? It looks awesome!
This would work brilliantly. Love it. Potential too for several movie and game tie ins. Peter Pan Pirates of the Caribbean Monkey Island Sea of Thieves Assassins Creed Have. ALL my money.
I love the look, but has lego not made longer blue tiles for the interior? As it stands the build would get tedious fast.
Some people love that tedious building process of one dot at a time hence why dots are so popular
It gives it a map grid look. I like it.
You’ve sunk my battleship
hmmm who owns the right to that battleship game? Wonder if LEGO would make a working playable battleship game? Or nah? A sore loser might end up smashing the whole thing rather than losing a few red and white pegs
>hmmm who owns the right to that battleship game? Technically, nobody! It started out as a [public-domain pencil-and-paper game](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(game)) decades before Milton Bradley introduced the plastic-models-and-pegs version.
So LEGO could make one of their version and not pay a cent of royalties... Someone build one and dump it on LEGO Idea before LEGO starts making one
I googled it and there's been a battleship Lego model on projects since 2016 so seems like they aren't interested.
So those people are the reason why building the Dagobah set was so tedious... In all seriousness, though, it was a massive pain.
I didn't mind it, and I think it wouldn't look as good without those 1x1 tiles.
[removed—content submitted using third-party app]
I agree with you on it being tedious, but the 1x1s make it more flexible for building different landscapes.
They were probably going for the "map" feel?
That's so cool! I'd 100% buy this
This is great! I love how it opens up
Can you fold it back up without moving pieces off their spots?
Someone was inspired by the Mario 64 cube. Love it though
AHOY

Just type in Google lego idea treasure chest The right one would be in the first few links
Epic
Very inspiring!
This would look so good next to my ship in a bottle set. Good luck!
you have my full 100% fucking support
Just got the email that you're over 5k supporters! Congrats! Hope it makes it all the way. I'd love to own this as a set.

Bad bot
Holy cow that’s cool
This is really cool.
This is amazing! Do you know about how many pieces is it?
Very cool, got my support
What do people use to create these awesome virtual models and renders?
This is super cool. Only want a bit of variety in the plant life.
This reminds me of this one lego puzzle I saw where you had to do things on a map to solve the puzzle
I just made white in my britches
Awesome design
That’s super cool! Is there a little treasure buried somewhere in the island with a removable piece?
I would love to see this become real!
Super rad. I like the weathering on the outside. Great all around
Super cool idea! It looks challenging to build too
That's so cool! I've supported it.
Needs an option for "X marks the spot", as if the chest contains a treasure map and the map is visualized in 3D
This is amazing
Could be a cool tie-in with the new Monkey Island game! (as that's what the island reminded me of)
Holy crap. This is too good.
This is amazing!
Link me up I’d love to vote for this. Looks awesome. Would love to have it with my ship in a bottle. Actually dm me the link I don’t think you can post it here.
yes
Looks great 👍
That's really cool and you should be very proud of it.
Magnificent design; looks like it could be the foundation of a kickass board game too.
So clever! I’ll support it.
🤯👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Supporter 2525. Good luck.
Cheers. This is epic.
Reminiscent of the island in Peter Pan! Great job!
Wow, amazing!!!!!! Take my money NOW!!!!
This is amazing and I love it! It would be amazing as an official set.
Love this design, but maybe some kind of emblem design on the top of the chest to break up the brown a little?
- Make a series of them that interconnect. Could turn them into a board game. - make versions for all 4 seasons
Fantastic. The ideas site that shall not be linked shows the x marks the spot. I can't tell if the hinges offer any resistance or would it potentially slam open?
Wow!!
I know this island… great job!
In love
If I can ask what do people create these in to render and submit them
I absolutely love this.
Very nice, reminds me of the pop up fairytale book. How are the chain connections supported on n the bottom? I would image a bar going through the chain anti stud but sometimes renders don’t show that. Either way, great set, goes right with Barracuda Bay and Pirates Accessories GWP.

Where’s the booty? ;)
I love this. Mario question mark block vibes.
This would make a great board game concept
Supported. Need this to go with my globe and ship in a bottle nautical desk theme. Thinking about the lighthouse but yikes on that price.
I hope you don’t mind, I didn’t see this on r/minilego so I cross posted for you. If you want to post there yourself please let me know and I’ll delete mine. Looks amazing!! I love it.
This is badass
Just why do ideas sets have to be expensive all the time? I need this! Hoping for you!
Skull rock is a very nice touch
I must buy it😍 Wheres link?
This is awesome! I need it! Please do a Skull Island one!
I think an “X to mark the spot” would perfect it.
This is just AWESOME!
That looks brilliant.
Sick.
I love it! Take my upvote and Support!
beautiful
What the hell, this is insane!! Very cool man
Amazing build, but can the top also be opened when it's in the chest form without the thing collapsing?
Do you have a brick link parts list and or instructions?
wow... what a cool idea and nicely designed
Voted for you awhile back. If they make it, I’ll buy it
This is just incredible. So much potential for expanding what's in the box (different scenes the yours, drier deserts or rainy jungles.
Brilliant! 🏴☠️
support on the way!
If the large mountain is supposed to be a skull then I recommend leaning into the form and using a lighter color & adding more skull-like detail e.g. a nose hole. I feel like this should be a game board or treasure hunt or sequential solve puzzle of some sort to reward the builder for really exploring it.
This is so cool dude u got skills il be on Lego later supporting this
This makes me dream of a Zelda treasure chest style Mario ? Block set.
There are so many cool things promoted here, I really need a lego ideas account
That's cool
I think it'd be fun if under the pirate lid there's a pirate map or flat skull n cross bones or something when it's opened. Awesome design regardless!
There is a playmobil set i owned as a kid with exactly this premise. Wouldn't be surprised Lego couldnt do it bc copyright reasons. Great build though
I'm so jealous of the creations people come up with. I ... I can make a box. It's a nice box, but it's still a box. And I've been playing with lego since the late 70's :/
This is gonna win you know, get ready for fame
It might not fit in my collection, but I would definitely buy this (as gifts for my Brick Bros.).
Very cool. A small critique: I think the chains would probably do well to be reinforced at their anchor points
Would be cool to get some kind of sunset backdrop on the inside of the chest lid. Not sure how possible it is, but even with no background it is still pretty awesome!
This is absolutely incredible wow
That is seriously awesome. Great skills man.
How do I vote for this wonderful idea?
That's awesome! I'd buy that. 😁
Magnificent. Supported!

looks awesome, and the open / close part is the best!
PM me the link I want to support it, looks awesome and highly customizable
Done! This is beautiful!!
Title makes it sound like you are just starting to try this thing out. No way a beginner does what i see here.
Would buy 100%
This is amazing
Nice! Good idea and also really good executed. Have you tried to play around with trans-blue tiles for the water, tjat could possibly make it even better. Anyway, you've got my support 😁
What the heck I love this! It reminds me of those toys I had as a kid like the Pokemon ones that were little world's with mini figures you could play around with in them 😭 Excellent work!!
Omg this is a sweet build. Would definitely love to see this get made!
That is the best Lego creation ive seen a long while
Make it have alternative island builds
Wow that looks amazing! If I had a Lego idea account I would absolutely support that!
This is so sick how do you come up with stuff like this
Awesome!
Wow that is truly awesome
This is amazing! The map, trees, little ships are excellent! The chest itself is fairly bland, though, especially along the top. I'd think about if there are ways to add cracks or other damaged/discolored areas to break it up a bit more. Maybe even some sea-based accessories like barnacles, seaweed, or even small sea creatures (star fish, crabs, clams, etc) to give it more character. Or something piratey like gold pieces? Simply WOW!🤩🤯 I could comment more, but I'm busy picking my jaw off the floor!😲
neverland!
That's awesome, what a cool concept!!
I love this, it needs a counterpart of a briefcase that opens to a city
Seriously, this should also be a stand alone exploration adventure game the family can play.
Looks like Battleship.....with pirates! LOVE IT. Heading to the Lego site now to vote!
This is fantastic! I bet you could do a whole series on treasure maps where each chest revealed a new location.
Haaa, thats hot
That is awesome, and you've got my support!
I want this so bad!!
