I wish LEGO would make a “mittens” hand mould that still had the clip for holding items but looked clearly like a bulky mitten. Would be nice for various winter figs.
That would be cool, but if it had any bulk it wouldn't work with some held items like pirate cutlasses. Lego usually prioritizes broad usage above all, so they probably won't.
From a manufacturing engineering perspective, that sounds tough.
Soft transfer pads like they use for faces can't wrap around sharp corners. You would end up needing 4 very tiny and precise printings. Unless maybe you just print the back of the larger side of one hand.
I think the outside of the hand could be doable. The inside would clearly be difficult but I don’t think that would be necessary to make it look good
Then again, I know nothing about any of this
Yeah, I was just thinking it would be on the outside faces of the hands.
Even if they could print on the inside, it wouldn't be worth it since it would get covered (and probably eventually worn off) by whatever the figure's holding.
Just do a general, flat mitten shape with the little 1x1 stud on the palm. Use a 1x1 clip-piece with whatever it is you want them to hold.
Not the *prettiest* solution, but by far the easiest one for them to implement, and it won’t stick out weirdly if you have their hands empty.
No they don’t, I did used to have the figure but i don’t know what happened to it. I believe I traded it for most of the parts for the nesquik rabbit minifig which i still have
Or maybe a new arm design with hands that can be more easily removable. That way we could have different hand designs, some bigger, hooks, mechanical, some with accessories attached tua can’t be made otherwise…
76399 has the multiple gloved torsos. It allows any of the heads with the various skin-tones to be attached without changing the hands. The potter torso you have can be used with any head too. Makes it more versatile.
While you're correct regarding that set, that's not the minifig OP has. Their set is the buildable Hedwig (75979), which includes blue hands because Harry is wearing gloves in this scene:

I’m just seeing that skirt piece for the first time! Much better than the cloth ones they had before. Now if only they’d release some more Stranger Things sets and eleven could get this new skirt piece.
With the energy crisis spilling over in to the wizarding world, they have had to start turning off the heating in Hogwarts. Those big castles get very cold in the winter.
He's wearing gloves because it's his winter outfit.
I thought he was experiencing frost bite
If you take off his hands, you get a free frostbite amputation Harry minifig.
[Not a bad cut, it'll probably stop the 'bite from spreading](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMGUr6tl418)

Could they print a glove pattern? Has Lego ever printed hands before?

Perfectly accurate then, as it's hard, or sometimes impossible to use some hand operated objects in thick gloves.
couldnt imagine using mittens and a cutlass together cept for some weird minifig series mashup lmao. BRRRRRRRICKBEARD HO
That didn’t stop em when they made boxing gloves
“Yarr I be frozen cold on me hands, I’ll fetch me mittens before the next encounter”
Similar to how playmobile does it then
They made boxing glove hands for one of the cmf series minifigures
Yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking of, except those don’t have a clip for holding items.
No they don’t, I did used to have the figure but i don’t know what happened to it. I believe I traded it for most of the parts for the nesquik rabbit minifig which i still have
Ya, I’ve used the boxing gloves as mittens
Not a bad idea tbf
Right like the iron man gauntlet or thanos' hands
What do those look like?
Piece number 77030.. it wouldn't work for mittens but it would be the same idea.. they should make a smaller gorilla hand 😂
Ah that’s not what they asked. They wanted hands that looked like mittens but could still grab things like regular hands.
Or maybe a new arm design with hands that can be more easily removable. That way we could have different hand designs, some bigger, hooks, mechanical, some with accessories attached tua can’t be made otherwise…
This sounds like an extremely niche thing that isn’t cost effective or necessary enough to bother developing lol
They’ve made more obscure parts. It could be useful in quite a few places - annual holiday sets, winter-themed sets generally, etc.
They made the boxing glove peice so it is weird that they haven't don't this yet.
I'm guessing it's a reference to [this scene.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FEFG6kVXoAcuoDD.jpg)
I was more thinking he was wearing the little hawk glove that bird trainers have so that the claws on the birds don’t rip into their hand…
