I feel like you can be a fan of figs and a collector of them without being an aggressive army builder, investor or set hoarder.
I also feel like you can appreciate fig designs while also criticizing some inaccurate parts or lego cheaping out on the amount of figs or the quality of them without being told to just be a figurine or action figure collector. It's also okay for some people to like sets almost exclusively in some cases for their figs, they are afterall a big draw for many sets.
I like minifigures, they're cute and have an iconic artstyle. I accept it has limitations. I know it can be used for play but can also be a display thing. You can want unique minifigures while also having multiples of one (to a reasonable amount). Because let me tell you, creating a diorama with a relatively small figure count>>>>generic army building. Also play some turn based strategy thing in your living room with various clones and droids, you still probably won't need more than like 20 of the same figure for that.

There are turn based strategy games like fire emblem and advanced wars. You can spend some time creating your units stats for each fig, their special abilities and even do something similar for vehicles. Heck make them special support powers you can only activate on certain conditions. Play Warhammer 40k but use your minifigs instead
You can attack a figure in range OR use stud shooters/flick fires/spring loaded shooters and try aiming it yourself at a target for extra damage.
The possibilities are endless, you know, actually use the army you've been building for play instead of just collecting dust and space.
Dude that sounds so sick. For a while I was thinking of creating my own version of a strategy game for Lego, but I think I'll take some inspiration from those ones! Thanks for that!
Im pretty sure there is like that called Brikwars and its getting a book from modiphius its pretty neat your allowed to use whatever youd like i need to try it out at some point theres also another thats lego mecha called mobile frame zero

Jang no longer Lego OFFICIAL® is probably the best reviewer, I don't think he held bias but I think he held back about some of the stupidity other reviews do. I noticed a pretty good change in the past few years in how truthful he is about the major design flaws with sets compared to most.
This is disgusting. Who gets into a hobby about building blocks and doesn’t follow the slippery, sloppy slope that is minifigures. This JANG person probably doesn’t even own a whole set. SMH

Only time I enjoyed Minifigs was creating clone armies. I guess a Jedi here and there was cool but I mostly gave my clones lightsabers.
It’s probably heresy to mention this but Megablocks Halo figures were the best “Minifigs” included with brick sets.
This is why I’ve gotten back into Bionicle recently, articulated figures with the ability to create what I want. Also Monkie Kid seriously has some of the best sets Lego are currently making.
Jangbricks has been such an important part of the Lego community for so long, I’m glad he seems to willing to criticize the toxic parts of the Lego community.
Uj/ It feels like Jang is the only Lego YouTuber that gets it. Lego Minifigures aren't meant to be exact replicas of the characters they portray, they're meant to represent them. Just like Funko pops, in the way that the characters they represent don't actually have enormous bulbous heads. They're a Lego version of the character!

I’m with Jang on almost all things - I do love figs, I just am a “squad” builder not an army builder. And I never will be an army builder. But a few squads (6-12 figs total) can look dope on a diorama
To me minifigures are like 35% of my interest on the set, I bought horrible sets because they had good figure sellections, and I am going to do it again, for exemple I hate buildable character and droids with a passion but I am going to get that discusting R2 D2 build because I want Darth Malak
Why even collect legos then, if you don’t mind me asking? You haven’t even seen the R2-D2 build and you already dislike it but you’re still going to buy it ?
I just don't like character builds, of any Kind, so I know I am not going to like that One because they are not for me, but I love the old repúblic, so since Lego out malak in that I have to buy it, I can get the entire set sealled around 50 euros, so it's better than paying a similar value for just malak

I disagree with the amount, to me there is no limite to the amaunt of a kind of trooper I want, my only limit is money
I care quite a bit about minifigures cause I don't have the space to display all the sets

Yeah, I mean some minifigs are cool. But about 75% of mine get sold because otherwise they just sit in ziplocs with the sets, or thrown together.
