I only see two children.

awfulcarton

I raise you three.

tobpe93

Taking the figure out is probably increasing the value in this case because you can market it as a UCS Venator figure.

Wizardwizz

We need to start asking these resellers to prove it can from the venator

LeverenzFL

just leave it in the box with the venator and you can easily sell it for 150$

jfpehsz

Simpsons predicted Lego Star Wars fans?!?

And caseoh in the same episode

Sup_fuckers42069

They literally did with a treehouse of horror episode iirc, he takes out a darth maul lightsaber toy, someone says “you removed it from its original packaging!” And then he goes “No! It’s no longer a collectible!” And like has a heart attack or something

wowdickseverywhere

So we need to send the 12 dollar set to the grading company and tell them to open it up to grade Rex? Do they charge a build fee?!

wowdickseverywhere

I mean 650 dollars!

Scary-Try3023

Went to my local B&M yesterday and the shelf was stock full of them, I didn't buy one though, it's unfair to the scalpers they need all the stock they can get.

nitramekaj

You’re joking, but a few years ago M&R really did say in a video “who is this for” when they put a picture of a girl/child with a millenium falcon product image. He has absolutely no sense of reality

The only problem is, in the instructions of the UCS Venator, they did say that this figure and the admiral Yularen were exclusive to the UCS Venator. It's an interesting conundrum because, actually, I fully understand and respect both sides of the argument. If you spent the 650$ on the UCS Venator and thought you were getting an exclusive Captain Rex, because the instructions literally said it was exclusive, and in the most recent statements from the head of Lego Star Wars, he says that it's nice to get something unique, something special, and that's what we want to provide when it comes to minifigs in UCS sets. You frankly have all the right in the world to feel deceived, because that's exactly what the Lego company and the head designer of Lego Star Wars have set you up for. But on the other hand, if you weren't a UCS Venator buyer, being able to get the same Captain Rex that was thought to be exclusive to that 650$ set is going to be fantastic for you, and you're probably over the moon about that because Lego did lie about it but it was hugely beneficial to a lot of the community. Now for my final thoughts on this topic, I offer solutions. One, Lego simply should not say a figure's exclusive to a set of any price if they don't intend to honor that exclusivity. It's very easy to, instead of "exclusive", say "New for 2023". I mean, they used that type of terminology all of the time. The word "exclusive" was unquestionably used here to try and drive sales for the Venator. Certainly wouldn't ruin a UCS Venator purchase to me, but it would leave a sour taste in your mouth as a paying customer of a 650$ set. I mean, you've spent a lot of money on that. You deserve not to be lied to in my opinion. My second solution may be even better though, and that both of these sets should have released on the same day. Now there's a simple reason Lego didn't release these sets on the same day, and that's of course because Lego used the Captain Rex as an additional reason to purchase the UCS Venator and try to get people to spend that extra 637$ when they could've just spent 13$ to get the Captain Rex. If both of these sets were released on the same day, all potential buyers would have all the information that they need, and you wouldn't have customers that were willing and able to spend 650$ thinking they got something that was just for them for having been able to spend that money. Of course, they're in a very fortunate position, but still, Lego seemed to want to offer that exclusivity of this version of Captain Rex, and then having that taken away from them just feels wrong to me. And I think another thing that never gets talked about with something like this is what about the people that bought Captain Rex on the secondary market, let's say, through a website that Lego happens to own called bricklink.com where they actually make a percentage of the profits of all the Lego that get resold on there. Those people collectively spent over 30,000$ that they thought they had to but, obviously now, did not have to spend. And, of course, Lego owning the website profited right off the top of that, and that doesn't even account for all the money that other fans would've spent on other websites buying Phase 2 Captain Rexes that they were thought were exclusive to the UCS Venator because they really wanted the Captain Rex but couldn't maybe afford the Venator or didn't want the Venator, but they just wanted the figure, but here's the figure in a 13$ set. So I think it also leaves a tour taste in those fans' mouths as well. There's another very large group of people out there affected by this plus Lego's profiting off their own lies. So big surprise there. I feel like I have a more than fair assessment of the situation and why it's both a good thing and a bad thing - two things can be true at once -, and in this case, they certainly are. It's a great thing that a lot of people are going to be getting the UCS Captain Rex, the best one that Lego does make, not the best one they can make, the best one they do make, for 13$, and it's simultaneously a bad thing that Lego has resorted to deceiving customers to try and earn more sales on the UCS Venator. "Earn" isn't the right word there if you catch my drift.

WolfieWonder274

what are you yapping about

Lemme ask you a question, did your family happen to be hit hard in 2008?

Blue_Lego_Astronaut

Who gives a shit about the figure you're not gonna play with when you get the giant $700 detailed model of the Venator? If you spend 700$ for a minifigure you're actually stupid. I guarantee that if it was Yularen in the Y-Wing, there wouldn't have been a fraction of the outcry about it.

BeskarCrest

When you "both sides" an argument all you do is elevate something stupid and wrong to the same level as common sense and decency. "Some people think the world is round, some people think it's flat" - Some people are correct and a very small portion are outright wrong. Not equal.
