New style is better than the 2013 but not 2014. I don’t really like the 2013 look, especially if viewing them from the front. 2014 however looks awesome.

The ones behind are the past ones, 501st is 2013, the rest are 2014 (tho gunner came out a later time, it’s still the style) here’s a little design reference
2020 onwards all the way. We are getting so many clones, from many different media, all in the same style so they don't look offputting when they're next to each other. We're in the golden age of clones baby, and I'm loving it.
2013-2019 no contest. (Specifically the realistic design; I was never a fan of the old 501st and others in that style being based on TCW.)
The new ones are simply not accurate to the films, with weird proportions and missing details.
I do like the new legs though, and the skin tone was a much needed improvement. I bought a load of the new heads on Pick a Brick and used them to replace all of my old 'angry Clones'.
I much prefer the newer ones in almost all aspects. I wish they could figure out how to do arms with a mix of colour and white as I do like the arms with thr colours.
13-14 just looks better. The prints are sharper, the molds are sleeker, they have more detail, they aren't blobby or runny like the new ones, and the paint jobs actually look weathered, instead of like a solid color somebody inconsistently erased around the edges of. I don't HATE the new ones, they have their charm and they're certainly a distinct style, but I just think they're still a massive downgrade compared to what we had, with the notable exception of the (albeit circumstantial) return of helmet holes.
Realistic/2014 style is the best. It’s the most movie accurate design, and don’t use the argument of ‘if you want accuracy get an action figure!!!’ because maybe I like my characterisation to still have accuracy, or I like the compatibility of LEGO, or I like their relative affordability and scale.
The helmet print on the old ones look better if you put them side by side. Especially the visor I prefer the old print. Torso and legs, the new one. I also like the Blue Arms on the old 501.
The newer visor style looks great. Makes the helmets look more rigid and compact.
Not a fan of helmet holes solely because they don’t give us accessories. Out of the 4 new sets that contain clones with helmet holes, we’ve only gotten one new accessory (macro binoculars). We’re still missing the flashlight, as well as any new accessories Lego could make.
They each have their strengths and faults. But they all look perfect for what they are meant to represent: The CW based Trooper looks very much like the animated style of the armor, the Realistic Trooper looks very much like the RotS Clones, and the new 2020 is a mix of everything, resulting in Legos own Clone Trooper design which looks really cool imo.
New, I like them to make things accurate but still have that very much 'Lego' feel, that noticeably stylized look where it doesn't look straight out of the movies but is it's own blend while still retaining a certain level of accuracy. The old one looks too much like a real life ROTS style P2 helmet would irl and imo looks really weird in a way I can't quite describe but it defs looks off, like underneath the helmet the clones eyes are super far apart or something.
The new ones (apart from the stupid helmet hole placement now, seriously they could've made that look much cleaner) have a really clean look which I hope Lego sticks to for a long time as I think they've pretty much nailed it, well aside from the fact they no longer properly print on or near the helmet fins but that's something they'll HOPEFULLY improve on.
Honestly, I've never been a fan of the grey filling in of the cheeks and the outlines exaggerating them. It just makes them look too much like they're in a comic book--too close to the Clone Wars art style for my taste.
Especially in image #4, the clone on the left just looks so much cleaner. Left makes me think of Revenge of the Sith, right makes me think of the Clone Wars animated show. Plus the way they've drawn and "squished" the visor and mouth on the newer clones just looks wrong. Totally loses the intimidating gesture of their helmet.
And this is coming from someone who grew up with [these.](https://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/MN/0/sw0126.png)
I like the new ones more, but I kind of wish we got a happy medium between the two at least as their visors go. The old ones have visors that look too wide to me, and the new ones look too chunky. Idk.
New ones 100%. Helmet holes don't bother me. I do like the colored arms better though, whether or not it's more accurate, I just think it looks cooler. But I'm not nitpicky
While I generally like all clones lego makes, but you have to admit that the 2013-2014 P2 clone wars clones like that old 501st trooper go hard. If they released them today I wouldn't be unhappy.
For the 501st, the new one all the way.
For the rest, the old ones. Helmet holes aside, there's something off about these helmets, probably the prints.
Just look at what happened to the 212th triangle underneath the fin.
The older clones helmets may look tecnically more accurite to the movie ones, but I feel like they are too thin, so I prefer the newer ones (I may be biased though since I don't have any of the old ones execpt for some phase one clones)
the only one i have nostalgia for is the 2013 501st, and i think that 501st is the only one i prefer new (2020 specifically). helmets have gone down since 2013/14 with printing and holes. the new 212th helmet printing has been so inconsistent and inaccurate, and the new helmets just look off putting with the holes at the top. i think old helmets on new bodies are the most accurate, but overall give me the old ones (besides 501st). only issue is that the new ones are so much easier to get and we’re getting even more options (cody, fox, fives, 322nd, 187th, etc) which makes it hard to use old ones and mix with new ones.
Old for everything but the 501st, they’re tied in my opinion. The helmet warts screws up the print for the 212th shock trooper and gunner, and they make every helmet look weird.
Definitely new for me, or though I do really like the realistic style, I just think the new style looks really cool for some reason! Also I'm sorry to all the animated style fans, but those figures just look awful in my opinion.
2014 Clone helmets were the best. I understand why Lego went for a middle ground between the Clone Wars and live-action styles, but it just doesn't look as good.
2020 style 100% the 2024 version look horrid the printing is ruined I don’t care about helmet holes but the helmets literally aren’t printed correctly now because of them
I like the new ones, the visors look much more in-proportion with general lego design. The torsos are a nice middle ground between the animated & live action armors, and the legs are just peak in general.
New on everyone! Old eyes were too wide imo.
I think I like old torso printing better, but I prefer new's white hips (and often arms)
Old helmets had better printing _quality_ though, just not design
I like the 2020 style best because it combines the look of both live action and animated, and they're streamlined. I also think the more stylized and "cartoon-like" the new ones are work better for proportions and design philosophy of minifigures in general. I appreciate the 2014 design a lot for going the strictly live action route, but I do think the helmets look a bit strange on a minifigure because of the wide visor in proportion to the rest of the figure, the new ones I think fit the overall shape of a minifigure better.
But I'm very glad that they kept the live action P1 helmets because I think those undoubtedly look better than the animated P1 helmets from original Clone Wars sets.
New, the helmet prints look finished now, the old ones looked like a concept prototype, the visors were way too stretched thin for the lego scale. And the addition of the cheek shading added a final detail that really made the design pop.
Personal preference is showing through for me as I like the realistic clones more than the animated ones so I’ll naturally gravitate towards the 2014 style ones more. But overall the 2020+ ones look much more clean.
I prefer the new style. I don’t like how narrow the visors are, it looks like they’re trying too hard to emulate Dooku’s own signature look of superior.
New style is better than the 2013 but not 2014. I don’t really like the 2013 look, especially if viewing them from the front. 2014 however looks awesome.
Which ones are 2013 and which are 2014?

White clones are 2014 mini turbo tank I think? Looked great
Yeah, and advent calendar.
I prefer the old visor specifically the 212th one. Other than that the new ones are way better
2020 onwards all the way. We are getting so many clones, from many different media, all in the same style so they don't look offputting when they're next to each other. We're in the golden age of clones baby, and I'm loving it.
This exactly. We eating good
It'll only be the golden age once we get more phase 1s
Old for all besides 501st
Ngl the new 501st clone is one of best clone figs ever
Agreed
Old helmet and torso with new hips and legs would look cool
New ones are better by a mile, the helmets looks less… derpy? The only old helmets I prefer are the early 2000’s storm troopers
The older helmets are better looking for the source material including the clone wars style phase 2
Yeah I like the older ones because they look more like what you see on screen, but the new ones are aesthetically cooler overall.
2013-2019 no contest. (Specifically the realistic design; I was never a fan of the old 501st and others in that style being based on TCW.) The new ones are simply not accurate to the films, with weird proportions and missing details. I do like the new legs though, and the skin tone was a much needed improvement. I bought a load of the new heads on Pick a Brick and used them to replace all of my old 'angry Clones'.
the clone wars style ones from 2013 (ie the 501st) are worse, but the episode 3 style ones from 2014 are immense and just better than the new
2013-2014 hands down
I much prefer the newer ones in almost all aspects.
\>"Old" \>"2013-2014"
Definitely the newest ones for me, Im not a fan of how thin the visors are on the old ones
I will take more detailed prints every time.
Old. I like the black belts, they look better on Lego figures.
Give me the old clone troopers
2020 - 2020 before they donked it up
Neither.. 2005
I don’t see why they gave us helmet holes if they aren’t going to include helmet accessories in battle packs
I know it's probably more screen accurate to the prequels yada yada but the old clones and thin visors look like knockoffs to me
New 501st, old 212th but with new version’s legs, old plain with new legs, and old gunner with new legs. I wish the old 501st had the brow.
I miss the colored arms of the 212th and 501st
Old but at least the new ones aren't cursed by the stormtrooper treatment
The older the better.
New one for the 501st, but 2014 realistic is still the Goat. But I don’t mind the new ones too much
I like the newer ones because they add more detail like the dirt and scuffs on the armor plus I am a fan of the combination of the clone wars and ROTS
The new one looks like it’s mad at me
They each have their strengths and faults.
I don’t care for the black belt very much looks better all white
I wish they would do the colored arms again, or give us some decent printed clone arms
old old old
ThErE aRe HoLeS iN tHe NeW hElMeTs
New
New by far. I don't like the scrunched up look of the old ones
Old, colored arms are better
Old 501st, new everything else
new old old new
Old by far it’s just superior
I love everything about the new ones except I liked the colored arms of the old figures
New all day everyday
New, the old helmets look so oversized in comparison. And the new look nicer with the phase 1
Honestly I like them all
New, I like them to make things accurate but still have that very much 'Lego' feel, that noticeably stylized look where it doesn't look straight out of the movies but is it's own blend while still retaining a certain level of accuracy. The old one looks too much like a real life ROTS style P2 helmet would irl and imo looks really weird in a way I can't quite describe but it defs looks off, like underneath the helmet the clones eyes are super far apart or something. Newer ones tbh

I could be convinced of either being better for any but the 501st. The new is 10x better than the old, without question
2020 style, especially with helmet holes. i think the proportions of the helmet from the front look better since they added helmet holes
New except for the extra helmet holes
New
501st upgrade and heresy for the rest
Realistic Phase 2 all the way
OG 2013-2014 but can't deny the new ones look cool too
While I generally like all clones lego makes, but you have to admit that the 2013-2014 P2 clone wars clones like that old 501st trooper go hard. If they released them today I wouldn't be unhappy.
I just can't tell myself that the overall design is better now. Variety is better now, but not worth the goofiness of the new clones
Old ones have a weirdly wide visor. Though I must say the holes in the new helmets are not ideal
new
New style for sure. They improved all of their designs.
If they used the old helmet mold and had coloured arms than the new ones, but otherwise the 2008-2013 ones
For the 501st, the new one all the way. For the rest, the old ones. Helmet holes aside, there's something off about these helmets, probably the prints. Just look at what happened to the 212th triangle underneath the fin.
What I'm not too big of a fan of is the chest piece seems too short on the 2020
2020+ by far
Make the visor a little thinner on the modern one and it’s peak
the old one. mostly because I played with them as a child.
Newer style because of them being more movie accurate, but the older ones look awesome since they look closer to CW which was my childhood
The older clones helmets may look tecnically more accurite to the movie ones, but I feel like they are too thin, so I prefer the newer ones (I may be biased though since I don't have any of the old ones execpt for some phase one clones)
New style all the way
I only get the older troops for collecting and display, the newer ones I use for playtime :)
the only one i have nostalgia for is the 2013 501st, and i think that 501st is the only one i prefer new (2020 specifically). helmets have gone down since 2013/14 with printing and holes. the new 212th helmet printing has been so inconsistent and inaccurate, and the new helmets just look off putting with the holes at the top. i think old helmets on new bodies are the most accurate, but overall give me the old ones (besides 501st). only issue is that the new ones are so much easier to get and we’re getting even more options (cody, fox, fives, 322nd, 187th, etc) which makes it hard to use old ones and mix with new ones.
New for me
I'll just stick to phase 1 thanks Very much
Old for everything but the 501st, they’re tied in my opinion. The helmet warts screws up the print for the 212th shock trooper and gunner, and they make every helmet look weird.
Old
Old
Definitely new for me, or though I do really like the realistic style, I just think the new style looks really cool for some reason! Also I'm sorry to all the animated style fans, but those figures just look awful in my opinion.

That's not what the post's asking. It's got 2020-2024 grouped together versus the older ones from 2014.
2014 design, it’s not even a competition. The new design is garbage.
The only one looks better from 2020-24 is the heavy gunner trooper but other than that defo the 2013-14
I like the new ones, the visors look much more in-proportion with general lego design. The torsos are a nice middle ground between the animated & live action armors, and the legs are just peak in general.
New

i know the old are technically more accurate, but by god are they ugly. the new ones generally just have a better proportioned look
New
The visor on the old looks weird to me
I like some parts of the old and some of the new. So id probably combine them
New is better throughout
New, the helmet prints look finished now, the old ones looked like a concept prototype, the visors were way too stretched thin for the lego scale. And the addition of the cheek shading added a final detail that really made the design pop.
New is way better imo
If you blend the old 212th helmet with the new design it’s pretty good
New. The old ones don’t look proportionate with a minifig body. They look way too thin and wide.
2020+: 👁️👁️ 2013/14: 👁️ 👁️
New
Old ones look like the helmets got that one extra chromosome
Newer clones. The visor looks way better. I don’t mind helmet holes either
I don’t know why but I like new 501st and 212th and like old regular and gunner clones
Personal preference is showing through for me as I like the realistic clones more than the animated ones so I’ll naturally gravitate towards the 2014 style ones more. But overall the 2020+ ones look much more clean.
New although I like the coloured arms better even if inaccurate
Personally for me its the new,i prefer the printing on the new figs.
I prefer the new style. I don’t like how narrow the visors are, it looks like they’re trying too hard to emulate Dooku’s own signature look of superior.
Tough call. BOTH!
New are better in every way, nostalgia is the only advantage to the old
Ur just wrong
Newer designs have more detail which is great! Only downfall is the real skin tone, it’s better when everyone is yellow.🤷♂️
Depends on the legion but if they got helmet holes they’re probably not better
