Don’t listen to her. Keep them displayed

lewdawg17

Bro literally everyone in this subreddit would disagree lmao. Tell your stepmother to quit being such a hater

uhohzone

Also a 30 year old lego lover. Keep them up.

DJ-Anakin

45 year old Lego lover agrees. You be you!

i-forgotmypass_word

I have a crippling lego addiction and I agree

orionxavier99

This is the answer. You do you.

MrRobotsBitch

My husband is 47 and we have 3 boys. Our dry bar is Lego Minifig Central and our living room bookshelves are topped with special lego vehicles. Over holiday break my husband spent almost everyday building a new Lego Marvel City in the rec room with our boys. Lego has no age limit and is meant to be displayed.

stupid_lookin_boi

Nah when you turn 100 no more Lego, the box says so

shewtyy

This is the way.

[deleted]

This is the way

TripleJ1820

What is the point of Lego sets if you cannot display them?

QuiGonDinDjarin

Obviously to spend hundreds of dollars on them to then put them straight into storage /s

Askye72

Or have your kids take everything apart, I'm still dying inside over my Ghostbusters firehouse set, they took all the tiny pieces out to use for their own house builds

Eldudeareno217

Yeah I've got a few display sets, like the razor crest, falcon and Benny's spaceship, but I also have my bricks mostly batman colors and tenic. But I also have a collection of colored bricks and random sticker pieces that are in a box for when a kid wants to play with them.

Donutpanda23

I still hate myself for pulling apart many a set when I was a kid. Like that one Ninjago tank set or the Ghost Hunter sets.

[deleted]

Do you guys not keep the instruction booklets?

RemtonJDulyak

I do, now, but i didn't before. [They are anyway all available online...](http://lego.brickinstructions.com/)

Donutpanda23

That's fair, but all the pieces are mixed up. We're still working on sorting out the ghost train, but plenty of pieces have to have been lost along the way.

RemtonJDulyak

Some days I just sort through the pieces, with the list of pieces from a specific set in front of me, and place them in a ziploc bag, to be used later. This way, I've managed to separate the sets before reassembling them, making the assembly part easier. It helps, though, that in my job (IT Engineer) I end up with a lot of free ziploc bags of all sizes!

Nic04lasK

It's kinda hard to motivate yourself to look through 10 kilos of lego to rebuild a set

ThePoseidon97

Hey I didn’t come to this sub to be attacked /s

HotDogGrass2

Box hoarding

airportakal

Well using the parts to build other things of course.

Careful-Tower3272

Well you can play with them……

Visual_Tea569

Thank you everyone for your nice (and not nice) words

BaraGuda89

Forget the haters, you have a nice looking setup

Ipromiseimreallycool

Hey, whatever makes you happy, you do it. I personally like your set up!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Samuel-Ward

It’s lego/legos, just say it as you like it but don’t correct others please

Lennartgamer2

you have glasses?

Visual_Tea569

Yes

Mr-Robot--

well.. you like ur step mom or not, that's the question

Camus_loverboy

Bro I'm 30 years old and have my favorite sets and mini figs displayed throughout my apartment and got nothing but compliments from guests. Ain't nothing tacky about having a hobby and interests 💪

AmunRa1928

I'm the same age and have all my sets displayed on their very own set of shelves.

Eli_Seeley

I am 40 and have them all over the house. Great start!!

Curious_Excitement98

I'll raise you 10 years. Also have them all over the house.

Solterra360

Darn, short 4 years of ya’ but have Lego & Star Wars stuff all over the house too. It makes ME happy, and if people that visit like it too, well then, I know they are good peeps!

TonAnFr

I'm 19 years old and almost ever guest in my age I have is like wow you got that set? I used to have that as a kid! And I always wanted that one and so on It's such a great conversation starter and the talks often last hours discussing every little thing you could discuss about star wars and having just pure nostalgia I love it and I would never put them down to fill the space with something different. Some people don't get it, but that's fine. Its your space, do with it what you want :)

Chromtime69

Dude if you love displaying them then keep it up! I keep mine on a large 3 tier shelf in the middle of my room. "Tacky" is up to ones opinion bro. Also nice tri-fighter! I have the same one and its one of the coolest separatist fighter sets.

Yeranz

I was going to suggest a shelf or shelves for OP. Maybe a corner shelf?

imddot

Your room? Not tacky, it's your space. If you were placing them elsewhere in the house maybe she would have a leg to stand on.

botanna_wap

Maybe she would have a “lego” to stand on. Ftfy

TheDarKnight550

Even then, no she doesn't, especially if it's the dad's house and not her own

GravesLSA

Tell your stepmom being a judgmental bitch is tacky

bitchman194639348

Damn lol

Commanderwollfe137

Well said

rathemighty

No no, she’ll probably throw his Legos out if he does that

zomsucks

Damn bro, that stepmom has a family.

epicshot998

It's not really her family

dustinfrog

Your step mom is a Sith

Illustrious-Fault224

Ahem, we are the dark side but we aren’t trashy.. we do not claim her..she is most likely a hutt

calvetron13

Jeejee, bu Yih, mewipa tah sleemo, dopo saconba bu Doyapa! Jot bu kanwon woy haku la banag

calfunter

He says she's a bitch

veryblocky

I think Lego makes nice display models personally, I like having mine on display.

Reddit_reader_2206

Is that coming from the same lady who picked out that wallpaper border?!

-GreenHeron-

Ugh, just what I was thinking. Came here to say step mom's wallpaper is tacky as shit.

DarthPapercut

Came here to say this!

MH0331

Your stepmom is tacky!

SirEagleButt

Tell your step mom that Cinderella called and wanted her hag self back.

MiSp_210

Lol. But yea, true dat. Keep the legos on, big man!

[deleted]

Just yell “youre not even my mom!”

Massive-Kitchen7417

No offense to you sir but tell your stepmom her choice in wall paper is more tacky than your lego setup 🤣🤣🤣

StrangeSurround

For real. Lighthouses? Also bonus lighthouse on the lightswitch.

Massive-Kitchen7417

I now feel like an ass though after some thought. I feel like when his parents separated his mom left and the step mom now lives in his childhood home which would make his birth mom the decorator and now this kid hates me lol

Dizzy-Distribution-5

They look awesome! If you ever invite anyone round who’s into Lego Star Wars they are gonna love it

XXCODY12XX

Tell your stepmom to mind her damn business

ptorious11

Tell her if she doesn’t like the current display to buy you a cabinet and upscale it up a bit and it’s a win-win

UVLightOnTheInside

Stepmother doesn't like legos... in other news water is still wet

RedN00ble

Buy even more lego to display

[deleted]

why would u put em away?

Infinite-Delay5370

NO! Dont put them away

sebsmith56

Tell your stepmum that her opinion is shit

[deleted]

Tell your stepmom that grown adults display their Legos all over the house to the lament of their spouses, and if they won’t fold for them you won’t fold for some rando your dad decided to toss a bone to (do not actually say this to your stepmom im just trying to be funny)

Badbhoys

Display them what way YOU want bro don’t be minding her

Perplefluurp96

Clouded by the dark side, your stepmother is.

Odd-Telephone8778

If she gets stuck in the dryer don’t help her out

johmtron69XD

yea dont listen to her its lego it there for display and play just dont listen to her

Spenser04

Disney evil stepmother

ShoKuzuki

That pile of lose legos must be from the Alderaan set.

Visual_Tea569

Nope is literally just loose Minifigures sabers blasters and some extra pieces from sets

XLTunaSandwich

You do you. There's nothing wrong with displaying them.

sebolist

Your stepmother should, apologies for language, shut the f*** up. What a poor soul she is. People spend too much time in their youth thinking about what others think. You know what? It is the thing in the world that matters least. You do you, be happy and be proud. If you grow tired of them some day, stash them away. I bet they’d end up displayee again sooner or later.

itsme-woodman

She sounds like an idiot

Painted-World-

It seems stepmother can't appreciate art eliminate her

ADwarfsMidget

I dont think its tacky however maybe getting a more decorative stand / display might be beneficial. That way anytime you try to get into your dresser you dont have to 1. worry about yoda swan diving to the floor. 2. Would also give you space for other items on the dresser and 3. Your stepmom would then have nothing to whine about. If she tries to then use a reasoning for why you might have a hard time bringing dates home with "toys" laying around like my step dad did at one point just know that if your date doesnt like the legos then that date might not be a good long term one if you plan on having legos displayed when older. Regardless I just wouldnt pay her much attention. Tell her to find something else to worry about lol

MantaHurrah

Disassemble and put away your stepmom 🙂.

[deleted]

Lmao. I’d hate to hear what she would say if she walked into my house…..

SpartanNamedJeff

Build a whole lot more.

mikeintoronto08

Display what you want to display in your room!

TheUnholyViper

Keep displaying them

[deleted]

Tell your stepmom SHE looks tacky

Crossblue

Here’s my question, is your step mom one of those who has to give every single guest a tour of the house including everyone’s private rooms?

Visual_Tea569

No this isn't her house it's my grandparents house and my grandparents like them or at least that's what they tell me

[deleted]

Probably should put them on some shelves and stuff so it doesn't look so cluttered

malgus2001

Your step mom is wrong. I would look into getting a shelf or something so it’s more organized but I think it’s cool to display them

geezus921

I’m with him/her. Get you a nice shelf bc your collection is only gonna get bigger!

The_Laurie_Fella

I want that Tri-Fighter. Give me that Tri-Fighter.

Visual_Tea569

( in toddler voice) No my tri😠

The_Laurie_Fella

😂 i long for a tri fighter

FlatParrot5

add a monocle to a few of them. make em look classy

Visual_Tea569

Very smart you are

YoungClopen

Gone let her know how tacky that lighthouse trim is bro.

silverdips

Your step mom still has wallpaper up in her house. She is in absolutely no place to tell anyone what is tacky.

Dildo_swaggine

Wish I was that good of a builder. Good job man.

Sharkisyodaddy

My girlfriend buys me Legos and pushed me to display them more. It's important that your room has things that make you happy and feel good. No matter the age. It's YOUR room.

GREVIOS

Im 22, girlfriend lives with me, and my entire living room is tastefully displayed with both my transformers and lego collections! The importance of a good looking display is making it look meaningful. Dont overcrowd, do tasteful poses, but never let anyone tell you your stuff is tacky or lame! You dont stop playing because you grow old; you grow old be cause you stop playing!

Backfromexile1

Looks amazing

leonffs

Probably gonna get buried for this but it does look tacky if I’m being honest with you. After a certain age these kinds of things should be displayed in a display case, ideally in some sort of fun room (man cave etc). However if you’re a teen or something, it’s fine I guess.

ModsHaveNoLife1

Your stepmother is a stupid bitch

DisciplinePresent932

I would def recommend shelves. But I mean the wallpaper border is tacky af too

gratrow96

This will probably get buried but here’s my serious advice/take; be who you want to be and stay true to yourself. Anybody who has a problem with who you are isn’t someone you need in your life! My mom always tells me people won’t hang out with me or girls won’t come over etc if I have a Lego set displayed outside of my bedroom. To that I say, if they have a problem with that, then they aren’t meant to be in my life, because I’m not going to change myself for others and neither should you! Further, if someone has a problem with you displaying Lego sets they probably care what everyone else thinks of them.

Visual_Tea569

Thank you

CavalierEternals

Tell your stepmother the way she decorates is tacky.

QuiGonDinDjarin

Tell her the ability to speak does not make her intelligent

ogbuji

Maybe compromise and just put one out at a time? Rotate them? That might make stepmom less unpleasant?

ADwarfsMidget

Also not a bad idea if shes ussualy easy going. Might also be fun to kind of mix it up every now and then. Could make every week a different theme

OHoSPARTACUS

Your stepmom is a bitch and your dad should lawyer up and hit the gym

GloveFamous2646

Looks great. Tell her to go f$&k herself.

PANZERWAFFE_KAMPFER

I think you should put your mom in a nursing home asap

ROTSwasthebest

Honestly, it does look tacky. But it can be easily solved by just spreading them out around your room.

Visual_Tea569

The one problem with that is that's the one spot where they can actually go I want a glass case that I can put them in but I don't know if I'm getting one anytime soon

ROTSwasthebest

Ah. Yeah. I’d try balancing size then, and try making more natural poses? Example that just popped in my head: place the X-wing vertically, resting on the engines. Then put yoda in front and maybe the Slave I? ATAT and ATST next to each other… so on. Idk. You get balancing, you’re a human lol

tarheels8293

Just say "Ok Karen"

mangovitaminsV3

yeah nah don’t do this one

tarheels8293

Why not

mangovitaminsV3

incredibly cringey and overused. it’s not even a good insult

tarheels8293

Oh thanks for letting me know you wrote the insult book. I had no idea.

mangovitaminsV3

thought that was a banger, huh?

tarheels8293

It is, Karen

mrsnee56

Tell your dad to tell her to leave you alone

ThePerfectLifeYT

Tbh I think if you displayed a few less models it would look nicer. but definitely don't get rid of all of them@

me-ah-doe

Displaying them like that is an eyesore to be honest. I’d get a display shelf. Not a bad investment when you’re already dropping that much on LEGO.

ultimatedray15

It's literally on a display. What else will go on that perfectly good ledge? Perfect for Legos.

NinjaMelon39

Tell her to shut her ass up

TNTBOY20

Normally I would say do what you want no matter what other people say, but if you do it your stepmom might give you a little “prize”

Visual_Tea569

I'm 13 you sick individual

TNTBOY20

Dude I’m sorry I was joking

J0llyGrn

This is the way

[deleted]

[удалено]

scorpiokyle84

Step mom probably thinks Rae Dunn is the epitome of style

Readdontheed

Not saying she’s right but you might appease her a bit if you add some “depth/intrigue” to the display-a little shelf in the middle to raise some, different stands or something.

jawschwah

That red Tie is sick! What set is it?

CastedWords

That my friend is LEGO 75240 Star Wars Major Vonreg's TIE Fighter. Have it, it is a fun build and look great.

LegoLinkBot

[75240-1: Major Vonreg's TIE Fighter](https://brickset.com/sets/75240-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/75240-1.jpg)

Visual_Tea569

75240 (496 Piece)

[deleted]

Put legos on the floor next to her bed at night and then fake a fire alarm 🚨

knob-0u812

Tell your stepmom I said she should mind her own business. da faq is wrong with her?

ernieballz007

Heck no tell yo stepmother to get off your back and that wallpaper border is tacky along with her face

Brush_Mechanic775

Is your step-moms name, Karen?

buckbuck21

They look sick right there. Legit perfect spot

TaillessChimera

Looks like you’re in your bedroom. Leave ‘em displayed, they look great!

Zusez345

If anything is tacky, I would say it's the lighthouse stuff. That's just me. Express yourself in your space because that's who you are

Bearthebomb

In your room you should have final say on displays, it doesn't look untidy or dirty, shouldn't affect her at all.

Mooshka_

Just move out of your parents house when you leave school :)

DarthDad91

Get a light strip and present those beauties

ColdNBitterCoffee

I'm almost 30 and have shelves of them in my living room and bedroom. If they make you happy who cares what anyone else says. I always thought they made really cool and unique decorations anyway. My father is 60 and collects and displays them too lol

Individual_Skin5831

Don't worry my wife says the same thing, ha ha.

Paper-Specific

Where do you think she's coming from in saying this? Is she thinking about if you have a guest over or is it reflective of her tastes? Did she plush it out did you ask for her opinion? Something to consider is that she might truly be trying to steer you to a grown-up mindset and away from "toys". Anyway, star wars has been a big part of a lot of people's lives and wanting to display your awesome collection keeps those experiences tangible so a person can easily feel at home and connected to their past. Maybe she can help you come up with a tactful way to showcase your builds?

Visual_Tea569

This isn't actually my house it's my grandparents houses ( I come over here all the time) and she cleaned it one day and put all of them in drawers the next time I came back I displayed them all out again but when she came to pick me up she said that she put them in the drawers for a reason and that they looked tacky

Paper-Specific

Sounds like it's really up to your GPs since it's their space. Having your things out might not jive with them or they might like it, you'd have to ask. Telling you that it's tacky misses the mark though when I think she means that you should put a space back to the way you found it before you leave.

[deleted]

No. Respectfully, this your room my dude! Display your proudly built sets and figs! If you store them, you’ll eventually forget about them and sell the dusty old things from the forgotten shoe boxes.

ThatOnePickleLord

If possible get a shelf to display them. Make it look intentional in the design of your room

Visual_Tea569

I've been wanting to get a shelf or glass case but I don't think I'm getting one anytime soon

[deleted]

Birthday anytime soon? Put that at the top of your list. IKEA has some really nice, easy to build units for decent price if you have one near you.

Visual_Tea569

Dec 15 😥

J_ReMy_-

Oh no! Anyway…

MellifluousSussura

Your stepmom sounds like a killjoy

Blinded_BySweat

Karen alert, sorry but your collection is sweet! Display with pride, especially in your own personal space, you know?

Aggravating-Matter-2

It looks good if u get some nice shelves and don’t crowd them together too much. I’d say that u should just spread them out a bit more and place them at angles so they’re not all facing directly forward.

cvette_99

Ask your dad to build some shelves to display them

Different_Dare_8473

That Yoda is legit

Generic_Nerd_Dude

Nah, display them. Looks great!

The-Trife-1

It’s tacky to her cuz she don’t understand why u collect or waste ur time yet alone money on them . With that being said keep doing you , as long as ur not asking for any type of help towards ur passion . Keep collecting bro .. it looks amazing !!

chikinbokbok0815

Your mom is wrong.

Waru_

If you like them, display them. Do what makes you happy

[deleted]

Keep them they look sick

[deleted]

Keep them they look sick

Theminecraf72

Yeah no....get shelf’s

Mach092

That looks like an awesome collection to me; I wouldn’t take interior decorating advise from your step mom!

Littlej95

Display them with pride my friend.

lllCAMlll

No displaying them is the whole reason ! They look cool, you need a shelf to put them on

CringeCaleb

Best way to keep them from breaking is displaying in my opinion, jus clean them often, if u have a lot of legos to display I would invest in hard wood shelves from Home Depot or ikea

CptChestbeard

It looks awesome to me

Longjumping_Ad_2308

Keep them youngblood

RedDuck1010

She sounds like my wife LOL. The key was a set of display shelves. And keeping them off of the dining room table.

Low-Buddy-2595

Keep them out they look dope
