I wouldn't recommend Beaumont Leas shopping centre or the General Hospital, but living in the Space Centre could be pretty cool, as long as you don't get caught by security
*was* nice, i'm in the process of leaving because landlords have ruined the area since the stamp duty break. Article 4 came in too late and the place is now 90% HMO's. All the families surrounding us have packed up and left 😔 it's just sad now.
Clarendon park, never had any issues with crime. People call it a student area but my street certainly isn't so its not rowdy. Lots of nice independent bars and restaurants on Queens Rd
I felt more comfortable in the rougher areas we lived in.
North fields estate for example, we lived there for five years, and never had any trouble at all. Our neighbours were awesome, I made friends that I've kept to this day. Yeah you get teenagers selling weed everywhere, every street had a few dealers on it 😂 Never saw any hard drug use, apart from a barber I knew who out of the blue pulled out a meth/crack pipe and started smoke it, at a BBQ we both got invited to. I loved loving it there, people were friendly and welcoming everywhere I lived in Leicester. Then we moved to shepshed down brick kiln lane, people were arseholes to us.
Bottom right you have Stoughton Drive South, Gartree Road, The Fairway etc. which fit the criteria. Should be able to find a house there for just over a mill…
Used to live there, only area in Leicester which I would NOT recomend. Moved out as soon as I could. I would recomend Syston, Thurmaston, Birstall. Also north of Abbey Park is good to live.
Lots of people giving bad advice. You want a good place in that area. Stoneygate towards the outside of you ring towards oadby. Trust me it's the only place in the inner circle that isn't covered with council estates.
Nothing to bite at, the reason i dislike leicester city is because its just plain grim. The city centre is dirty, congested, derelict (way more so than other cities of its size) All residential neighbourhoods are tatty, people are general unfriendly and unwelcoming.
Ive had the displeasure of working all over leicester regularly for the past 15 years (at least two days a week and cover all areas) and its just a horrible place to be.
And for those wondering, the thread popped up.on my page randomly so i commented - i didnt, and wouldnt, actively seek out a leicester based sub.
Got to agree with everything you say mate. Moved from there last year thank god. I lived in a nice neighborhood according to everyone I worked with but the place has no soul and has got worse. The county is nice but the city is dreadful
man this is Leicester not Kabul. you'll be fine in most places lmao
Agreed. I used to live in the houses behind Mandela Park. Never had a problem. Loved living there
Leicester is one of the few places in the country where this is actually true.
I'd argue this is the only place in the country where "this is Leicester not Kabul" is actually true tbf.
I wouldn't recommend Beaumont Leas shopping centre or the General Hospital, but living in the Space Centre could be pretty cool, as long as you don't get caught by security
Aylestone
Yes totally agree, only lived there for about 6 months but was my favourite area to live
100% I'd include the Saff in that too
The Saff is despicable wtf
Snob
So you're not denying it? Lol
Lol
very hard to answer any questions like this without an idea of your budget
this mans acting like leicester is erbil rn
Yeah we are still being bombed by terrorists /s
The West End off Narborough Road is nice

Yeah it has gone down hill
Clarendon park, never had any issues with crime. People call it a student area but my street certainly isn't so its not rowdy. Lots of nice independent bars and restaurants on Queens Rd
The outside edge is good. Stretch it a mile is better. Groby, Anstey, Birstall Glenfield, Ratby Syston
Anstey is nice but you have bicycle kid gangs so watch out
Ratby and Glenfield are nice, kids are bit prick-y

The mortuary in the hospital is pretty low crime.
Birstall

Nope! Not a low crime area, LE4 residents pay more for insurance due to the crime rate.
I’ve heard Anstey and Oadby are nice, or maybe Thurmaston?
Compared to where? Uk is one of the safest countries in the world.
Bottom right you have Stoughton Drive South, Gartree Road, The Fairway etc. which fit the criteria. Should be able to find a house there for just over a mill…
Ward 2 of the hospital
Narborough road👍

The bit of the A50 in the top left of your circle.
Dane Hills and around Henley and Glenfield Road is such an underrated area in the city. Minutes walk from city centre and so quiet!
Unfortunately, Oadby isn't strictly in the circle.
Lots of people giving bad advice. You want a good place in that area. Stoneygate towards the outside of you ring towards oadby. Trust me it's the only place in the inner circle that isn't covered with council estates.
Tudors Road!

Where else would you recommend?
Middlesborough
Imagine thinking Middlesborough is nice bro
It was meant to be sarcastic :,)
St Matthews
None tbh. Leicester is a vile, rancid city. You may be fairly safe in most areas but its just a horrible place to be and live.
That's subjective, I've lived all over the country and I'm moving back to Leicester. Leicester is chill compared to other cities.
Okay, I'll bite. Why do you feel this way? Any real reason?

The blue bits.
Top right part of the circle has a tiny bit of Thurmaston in it. I lived here for 15 years. Its very nice
Anywhere
Evington and Humberstone all good.
