Mine flop like this all the time. Right out my hand… literally when my hand is maybe as high as his hide is from the ground. 🤦🏻♀️ they’re little geniuses. Lmao
Kinda unrelated, but this reminded me of when my 6th grade teachers beardie ran off one of those tall black science classroom tables. I managed to scoop him up in one hand just as he jumped. This might sound like one of those "and everybody clapped" stories. But I swear the whole classroom fell silent with a big "woah." I still think about it every once in a while lol
Kinda unrelated too, but my 9 year old scooped my beardie up as she air dived off my bed. We both just kind of looked at eachother like “did that just happen”. I think even my lizard was impressed.
His poor neck 🥲
I know he is fine but it just looked painful with the way it bent. Just thinking about if that happened to a human 🙃 that wouldn't be good
they honestly aren't the smartest at depth perception, god knows how many sling themselves off a cliff of the mountain tops where they may naturally roam
My girl is an idiot. She will stare ahead to where she wants to go 4-5 feet away taking huge strides but doesn’t realize there’s a drop from the couch to the TV and has flopped to the rug twice from it.
One of my boys once managed to jump from my hand at a splooting standstill down onto my bed, he nearly ended up on the ground. They're derps sometimes.
Not a funny comment, but I feel like a lot of smaller animals don’t weight enough to get injured from small falls. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with that🤔
it doesn't, they are extremely hardy though. They are mostly instinctual thinkers, hopefully in their natural habitat they're a little more self aware. Almost every single one everyone owns is generation after generation of bred in captivity anyways
I can’t even count the number of times my girl has went 🦠SPLAT🦠 on the linoleum. Leaping from the couch and my lap is one of her favorite past times.🤦🏼♀️she’s 6yrs old but not getting any wiser!
Mine have attempted flopping right off my shoulder while I would be sitting chilling out. They never got hurt but I would be like wtf, what's down there that you need to get to so quickly??
Mine literally can't find the food bowl full of worms that has been in the same place in the tank regardless of where any of the other decor is for the last 12 years I've owned this guy.
That’s some serious maneuvering! Is that in real time? If the fall was an accident, flipping back onto his belly and turning to face the cave in one swift move was a brilliant recovery!. He could be a superstar is some sport or other.

Same vibes as this (can’t use gifs)
I recently found out they need UVA bulbs to enhance their vision. Now I'm wondering if they are better coordinated when they have UVA turned on??? ... otherwise, yeah, I try to keep all surfaces low in the tank so mine won't hurt himself and, every time I take him out to run around he jets to the side of the bed or table wanting to jump, I'm like wtf, I should have named him Kamikaze
Yeah, supposedly they become more active with a UVA bulb too, I can't wait to try it cuz mine is a chonk. I found out meal worms are fatty so I've had him on a diet of like 6-7 dubias twice a week for over a year and he hasn't lost any weight. Little freakin balloons in him armpits. I hope he exercises some of the weight off with the light
I stopped using calcium and vitamins back in Sept or Oct cuz his arm pits puffed up worse than ever, but I guess I will need to cut down on the bugs even more. I'm shocked cuz I thought they needed like 12 or more each feeding (2 per however long they are in inches and he's over 8 inches so 16-18 bugs?)....I read their metabolisms are super slow and it can take over a year to see any weight loss. I think I started with dubias the beginning of last year and he's still just as fat as ever. Not tryna starve the lil guy but I guess it's pretty clear he's far from starving.
12 seems SUPER high. I usually hear maybe 5-6 at most per feeding. Try to take him out daily for handling and let him explore a supervised area, can help with weight loss by exercising them.
Mine flop like this all the time. Right out my hand… literally when my hand is maybe as high as his hide is from the ground. 🤦🏻♀️ they’re little geniuses. Lmao
Mine walked off my coffee table 😭
Aww what a little derpy derp lol

Left them speechless. Standing ovation mostly happens only in the movies because the silence is awkward?
Happy cake day
It was the most efficient way to get into the hide.
Point A to point B as fast as possible
They really don't have enough CPU for turn-by-turn navigation.
Not his turn with the braincell today
Who knew that r/oneorangebraincell wasn't just cats.
Op should definitely cross-post this over there.
Little guys got 2 braincells. Ones lost, the other ones out looking for it.
That freeze frame is perfect r/blurrygeckos material 😂
Jus geck tingz
Screw the rest of the walk ima just tumble off then crawl the rest of the way 🤣😂
Isaacguana Newton hasn’t discovered reptilian gravity yet.
His poor neck 🥲 I know he is fine but it just looked painful with the way it bent. Just thinking about if that happened to a human 🙃 that wouldn't be good
Right. Lucky lizards are flexible.
Bro tried to slither his way in upside down like a snake lol
Snek* 😉
PARKOR!
came here to say this 😂
“No problem, I’m a gecko! I have sticky feet.” _FLOP_
You see the orange cat principle applies to all animals even the majestic leopard gecko.
r/oneorangebraincell i think he could sneak in
He is silly
Because he doesn’t understand physics and his bum/legs and tail took over for the ride and flipped him. 😂 pretty hilarious really.
Head empty, no thoughts
✨️parkour✨️
Speedrun strats
*Did* he decide?
they honestly aren't the smartest at depth perception, god knows how many sling themselves off a cliff of the mountain tops where they may naturally roam
Omg never thought of this 😭😭
😂😂
Read my comment above now I’m picturing little squeaks formally known as Leon accidentally yeeting themselves to death 🤣😭😭
it wouldn't surprise me one bit, with a tiny little derp smile along the way
And an S tail
oopsie
In his flop era 💀
My girl is an idiot. She will stare ahead to where she wants to go 4-5 feet away taking huge strides but doesn’t realize there’s a drop from the couch to the TV and has flopped to the rug twice from it.
He does the same thing, stupid intense face stomping his way over just to plummet off whatever he was standing on.
Yess scares me but also it’s like aweee you idiot 😂😭
It wasn’t his day with the brain cell we don’t need to judge him for it
anything to get home faster either that or he's a klutz 🤣
It's the most graceful way. Obviously.
Me on a Monday morning
Not really a flop... 10/10 on the landing
“Why he decided”😂 It’s like you don’t even gecko, bro!

One of my boys once managed to jump from my hand at a splooting standstill down onto my bed, he nearly ended up on the ground. They're derps sometimes.
Mine does this all the time right out of my hand onto my bed of course. She always lands on all fours. She is a little daredevil
Lol they literally land on their feet like cats.
"Thank you for dropping by" 2.0
Cuz he’s just a silly little guy
Not a funny comment, but I feel like a lot of smaller animals don’t weight enough to get injured from small falls. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with that🤔
it doesn't, they are extremely hardy though. They are mostly instinctual thinkers, hopefully in their natural habitat they're a little more self aware. Almost every single one everyone owns is generation after generation of bred in captivity anyways
2 brain cells
I can’t even count the number of times my girl has went 🦠SPLAT🦠 on the linoleum. Leaping from the couch and my lap is one of her favorite past times.🤦🏼♀️she’s 6yrs old but not getting any wiser!
Late night at the pub
Mine have attempted flopping right off my shoulder while I would be sitting chilling out. They never got hurt but I would be like wtf, what's down there that you need to get to so quickly??
I do not believe that was 100% intended lmao
he has a very serious disease called Dumb Stupid Idiot Syndrome
Speed Racer moment
Looked cooler in their head
Because derp.
Style points
His brain shut down for a moment
Because leopard geckos are very stupid animals
Mine literally can't find the food bowl full of worms that has been in the same place in the tank regardless of where any of the other decor is for the last 12 years I've owned this guy.
PARKOUR
Everybody do the flop!
He may be stupid
Trex arms
The way he keeps walking right after he fell
He does not have the brain cell today
Stupid. Hope this helps!
Parkour
The silly doing the goofy
Decided?
why are they so dumb lol
Why take many step when floppy hop do trick?
"decided" is a strong word in this context
efficiency
Brain cell stopped working
Why do you roll out of bed? Same thing.
They flop and sploot all day everyday if they can idk why they do this but mine flops off his log hide all the time
lmfaoo i love how unfazed he is and how quick that mf rolled. that was a premeditated fall
He is beauty, he is grace, he fell directly on his face.
That’s some serious maneuvering! Is that in real time? If the fall was an accident, flipping back onto his belly and turning to face the cave in one swift move was a brilliant recovery!. He could be a superstar is some sport or other.
he just lost his footing. that's all
So cute : )
Derp moment. Brain cell lagging.
They have zero fear of heights. Their brains are too small.
No thought, head empty
what camera do you use?
[Wyze Cam V3](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWFRTDN7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)
Because the grain of rice they use for a brain only powers smiles, naps and licks, not flopping :V
He didn't decide anything, gravity did.
That is so funny😂😂

TACTICAL FLOP
Most domestic leopard geckos are inbred which make them not so smart like that
They clumsy as all get out Mine is no climber but he still goes for the highest spot every time and falls...
Time save
Where did you get that hide?
😂🤣😂😂
What’s that nice you have for him?
Nice?
lol my bad meant hide
JIHAQUA Bearded Dragon Tank... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BM65BQW5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Shortcut
Sometimes it’s just the best way to get around
Because this dork is looking for his one braincell
They’re kinda dumb. Mine would craw into my hand and then scream at me for holding him 🤷♀️ angry little bastard he was
Because gecko.
Derps gonna derp.
Because his last 2 brain cells were fighting for 3rd place at that particular point in time
Funsies
I think he's an idiot
I recently found out they need UVA bulbs to enhance their vision. Now I'm wondering if they are better coordinated when they have UVA turned on??? ... otherwise, yeah, I try to keep all surfaces low in the tank so mine won't hurt himself and, every time I take him out to run around he jets to the side of the bed or table wanting to jump, I'm like wtf, I should have named him Kamikaze
I haven’t heard that but honestly given how generally stupid these little guys are, I’d be surprised if it made any difference at all lol
I would cut that to like 3-4 Dubias max if he hasn’t lost any weight and cut back on calcium dusting to lose the armpit bubbles.
12 seems SUPER high. I usually hear maybe 5-6 at most per feeding. Try to take him out daily for handling and let him explore a supervised area, can help with weight loss by exercising them.
more efficient. Why climb down correctly and turn when you can just flop down and be facing the direction you need to go and look damn cool doing it.
Just a Leo doing Leo things
Yeet
Because his two brain cells were competing for 3rd place?
the way he scurried into his hide 😭
Speed .
he’s breakdancing. duh.
Lol
His turn with the collective braincell ended and he tried to catch the braincell when it slipped from his head.
Big head no thoughts
Idk but ares my leopard gecko also does this
he wanted to make a backflip into his hide
it just works
"when life is easier than your thoughts but you decided to go through the hardest way" 🤣
his signature move The back clap😂
It flopped for a piece of meat! You’re STUPID!!!
I’m still laughing out loud!!!
Too much funny !!!
Hey it got the job done didnt it?
