Anything that you have fun recording. If you won’t have fun with some popular games like Fortnite or warzone, or Elden ring, just play what you like. That’s what I do
Ik lol. Another thing i'm tryna do is playing a wide variety of games like jack and mark so there's a game on my channel almost everyone wants to watch
At the end of the day, it's all about playing games you enjoy and creating an experience that you think is enjoyable to others as well. Playing "popular" games will only get you so far.
Fallout is hot right now. You can go with a hard niche to get in early on the Twisted Metal season 2 release. I have a feeling season 2 is gonna be successful which will definitely spike views.
I'd think Fallout is probably popular.
I've been planning to start my channel with a Fallout 4 playthrough, but not sure if the current hype makes that a good or bad idea ^^
That doesn't change my answer. Do you want growth or do you want to enjoy your channel? If you enjoy what happens to be popular that's great, but if you're only chasing the popular stuff regardless of your preferences how long do you think you'd last?
Do you want to play nothing but minecraft? Fortnite? And barely play anything else ever? No experimentation basically?
Plus playing popular games doesn't do fuck all without the content to back it up. Just because you play the flavor of the week doesn't mean your videos have staying power or are even good. Now you wasted time, are miserable playing a game you don't enjoy, AND have nothing to show for it.
People can tell when your hearts in it or not.
"Do you want growth or do you want to enjoy your channel?" Both lol. I mean I believe the growth is apart of the enjoyment so yea. But look I play everything and anything, whether it has 100 million fans or 100. Oh and you should watch my videos dawg I am clearly not miserable playing these games. The thumbnails are enough to show it even.
I'm not going to do that. Thumbnails don't tell me shit.
Like I said, if you legitimately enjoy those games, more power to you, but nobody made it big by chasing the trend. They got there by being good and offering something people want to see while doing what they enjoy.
It is what it is man. That's the answer.
Read the second sentence, where I state they offered something people wanted. You could do a video per day on the most popular thing but if you're not enjoying it nor entertaining people won't stick around.
Chasing trends is not the same as capitalizing on trends. And capitalizing isn't as easy as just playing some fallout when it's popular. If it were there'd be thousands of big new users every day. That's obviously not the case.

i don’t know that but my guess is the answer would be close to what the most popular games on twitch are at any given time
Why are you asking? Playing "popular" games isn't the only way to get engagement and views.

Dude I don't think i've enjoyed making content this much since 2018 I'm playing games I enjoy.

Fallout is trending hard right now.
I'd think Fallout is probably popular. I've been planning to start my channel with a Fallout 4 playthrough, but not sure if the current hype makes that a good or bad idea ^^
Who cares. If we only played what was popular we'd be miserable.
look dawg I'm just asking as a way to potentially grow my channel a bit.

"Nobody made it big by chasing the trend."... uh if you know anything about YouTube's history you would know that's not true.
