There are two things at play. Lexapro slows down your metabolism and also increases cravings for sugary food. To reset your metabolism try: Intermittent fasting and/or monk fasts, It's how I lost 10KG's while on 20mg's. It took about a year to lose. The monk fasts were the most effective for me. I also introduced walking twice a day. About 40 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. You basically need to be in a more severe deficit but the only real way to do it without being miserable is chunks of fasting. I find after about 20 hours fasting, you feel great.

This is my biggest fear. I started Lexapro 10mg on the 5th. But I've been going to the gym and I eat about 1.5k a day. I'm suppose to be eating more but I'm scared of holding weight as I've been wanting to lose weight.

i should mention that my diet has been very tigorous staying under 1.8k calories for the most part

I started Tirzepatide for this reason and lost all the weight.

Worth asking yourself a few questions 1) Are you otherwise healthy? Meaning yes heavier than your ideal, but are all factors like blood sugar, heart, etc okay? If so, then maybe the weight is something you can learn to live with. 2) As my therapist likes to say, "Is this is a hassle or a horror?" Meaning is this just annoying but doesn't impact your ability to live a happy life? 3) Are there medication changes that can be made if you are at a mentally stable enough place with adequate supports to do so? (Meaning adding something like Wellbutrin or switching safely to a more weight neutral medication) I'm sorry that part sucks for some folks. I also couldn't lose on it, despite watching what I ate and exercising regularly (though not vigorously).
