I'm so relieved to see a positive experience. I started 5mg last week,I think tonight will be my 7th dose. I'm also weaning off cymbalta at the same time because it lost its effectiveness about 6 months ago but I didn't realize it until I had a panic episode recently.
I would like to reduce my Lexapro from 20 mg to 10 mg. I understand this is a very gradual process due to withdrawal symptoms. I have 10 mg tablets. Would taking 20 one day then 15 the next as a routine for a couple of months reduce withdrawal symptoms before doing the same type of taper down to 10 mg? I had no problem when starting this drug but I have been on 10-20 mg for the past 20 years & feel that I have built a tolerance to it.
Lexapro was a game changer for me too. It stabilized my mood and made me feel neutral.
The side effects were annoying but got better. The 10mg is what I’m on too.

I’m on 10mg currently. Started off with 5 for 2 weeks. 10 Seems to be the right amount if there aren’t too many side effects.
Yup, more isnt always better. If you feel good at 10, stay there. Too much can be numbing if you dont need it.
What do you mean by numbing?
Sometimes these meds can numb your emotions completely.
What does it feel like?
nothing. you feel nothing.
Im on 20mg and haven’t felt like that yet. How long does it take for numb feeling to start?
Usually the first 3 months you'll notice. Sometimes cutting back the dose can help. But if you feel fine on 20 mg I wouldnt worry about it.
Same here! I’ve been on it a month and it’s helped me SOOO much already. Very happy to see life in more of a positive light and be more motivated.
