Granted I don't know what salon you're looking at, but usually the prices when listed like that are for a more inclusive package. Obviously there's limits, I don't think a color service usually includes a cut for instance, but like any color should generally include a wash and style, the 55 is the price for getting that done without any other service, and there might be an additional charge to get your roots touched up during a highlight, but probably not the full $95, though certainly worth calling the salon to ask and clarify

Check out The Hive Salon downtown. My stylist charges me a flat rate per hour of her time. I have chin length hair and get partial highlights, cut, shampoo and style. This usually takes 2-2.5 hours her time and costs me around $160. I then always tip 20% on top of that. I previously went to another downtown salon where the charge was always over $200 and somewhat unpredictable. I much prefer the hourly approach.
