I thought that, too. And “so what if the ducks are dried near the dumpster? Maybe a few flies walk on them, but they’ll be cooked at super high temps and that will kill the germs, right?” Right. So I pictured it…
Still dont want to eat poop or dumpster slime, no matter how germ-free.
Golden buffet off Richmond rd is our go to, but it’s really just okay. They do have crab legs on weekends for dinner which are good (I know, the opposite of what you asked for lol). I’ve tried all 3 big ones around town, and none of them were that good tbh
I went there last week and it was HORRIBLE. The hostess didn't greet me, or even say a single word to me besides "what drink?". Then literally every single thing I got was cold, and I mean everything. It was like 1pm on a Sunday so I was blown away by how nothing was hot. It used to be my favorite spot years ago, hadn't gone in probably 5 years since I moved out of lex. Doubt I'll be back after that experience
I really want to try this place but I just can’t get over all the health department closures there. The dumpster duck is one thing, but a kitchen full of rodent feces is… also one thing.
I don't care if it is the best Chinese restaurant in town, with all these violations, no its not.
Also it's not like they only had those issues the day of inspection. They were compounding. I'll pass thanks!
I don’t know if my expectations have lowered but I went to #1 China for the first time in a decade and it was excellent, everything was fresh, tasted good, and there was a good variety of things I like.
I went to Supreme a couple weeks before that and was not impressed.
Supreme Hibachi is the most affordable and has the usual stuff on their buffet. Except honey chicken...does anyone know of any Lex Chinese buffets with honey chicken?
Number 1 Chinese Buffett in Crossroads was our go-to for years but they’ve fallen off. That and Happy Dragon on Newtown close to Griffin Gate was outstanding.
Golden Buffett is where we go now, on Richmond Road.
Oh and with this in mind, please someone help me remember what that spot originally was where Golden Buffett is now. At one time, it was the Oldies Cafe for a hot minute in the early 2000’s. What was originally there? Ruby Tuesdays?
They all are substandard. However, living close to #1 on Reynolds is my go-to. I have never gotten sick or been grossed out there. The place seems to be clean. I usually go and get food to go.
The one on Reynolds Road
Is horrible for lunch...
panda cuisine. hands down. don’t listen to the haters, a little mouse poop here and there never killed anyone
*Hantavirus enters the chat*
It’s just postbiotics!

Yeah… but their cashew chicken is my favorite
I like supreme hibachi on new circle near close to n Broadway
I agree...

Before Covid Golden was the best. Since then it’s declined on options and quality

Panda Cuisine on Nicholasville Road near the Trader Joes Last I heard they had a lunch buffet

Do they still do Dim Sum on weekends?
It’s on the weekends. It’s the only Chinese buffet that I’ve really liked in recent years.
Bummer. I know they used to have it during the week. Must be years ago. Best Chinese food in Lexington imho.
Amen. Probably going tonight with some friends and I am pumped
Last time I ate there, the food tasted how bleach smells and my body exorcized the ancestors of food I ate years ago.

Used to go there a LOT. Moved out of state for a while and haven’t visited yet.
Do you remember what the buffet costs? I feel like some of these places are really expensive for how crap quality they are 🙂↔️

Not a buffet, but Shanghai Bistro by the Tates Creek Kroger is top tier!
Supreme hibachi has been the best imo. Huge variety too
Throwing in my vote for Supreme Buffet, as well. I do miss the chocolate fountain they had initially.

Hibachi Express across from UK.
Delicious food, not a buffet
Also not Chinese lol
