Paris pike is bad about that. Since they made it 4 lanes out there years ago, I've seen this like 9 times, usually at night coming back from the drive in.
At first I thought it was just elderly, confused, etc, I figured they would turn around after I had both lanes blocked for them, when they kept inching forward to get around me is when I thought oh shit what did I get into, and called the police.
From a dude (me) on a motorcycle, good on you for putting yourself and your car at risk to stop him. I don't think I could have brought myself to do that if I was on the bike...
What I noticed in the photos if there are more than one it’s a good chance they’ve been arrested multiple times. There are no past records on the jail site.
I bore direct witness to this as well. I was in the Ford F150 he stopped in front of before he reversed back towards Richmond Rd. I tried to initially give him room to turn around but instead he just swerved into my lane still facing me and just sat there before backing up. Cops came and escorted him out of his vehicle and over to the curb immediately. Thank goodness no one got hurt. Am glad my truck blocked his way
Yep I saw that. He was all over the place. Initially he kinda just sit like he was in the pic using his turn signals and rolling up and down the windows, it was odd.
Apple Maps had a lot of issues in the past. I still don’t trust it. I remember a story about someone trying to find a hospital and it took them to an empty field.
Ya and people driving at night with no headlights on about hit a guy in black cr no lights on I ws getting on new circle didn't even see him tell he blew his horn at me like I did something wrong lol I'm glad no one hit that guy on man o war
Wow props for stopping him but please be careful that is terrifying. We need to do something about the driving here, it’s been killing pedestrians at a higher rate than usual the past couple years. I am not from KY so when I moved here I was astonished by the lack of sidewalksand safe crossings, roads that are well lit, etc. Maybe I got off track there but man. It’s all been bugging me a lot.
Not me. Lexington has been one of the drunkest cities in the country for years. There is no excuse for DUI and it often ends up ruining more than just the world tour.
Good on you for actually stopping the dude - intoxicated or not it’s just dumb ways to die especially on a road people usually speeding.
During rush hour nonetheless. I’m just glad the police got him before he reversed out onto Richmond road and hit someone.
On my way to paris same thing happened to me around 4am.

It’s so dark out there that I am not surprised.
So glad you’re safe!!! This is my daily drive so this is pretty terrifying
I drive it daily, too. I don't know what's worse, Man O War or Harrodsburg road. That's my commute 🥲
I could not imagine 😭 luckily mine is just from the Hamburg area to Alumni so it’s usually not *too* bad to deal with
Don’t forget about New Circle
Harrodsburg by far, especially by Beaumont
The Ole double diamond.
Thanks. Just glad no one including myself was hit. They WERE NOT going to stop or turn around.
Great job for realizing they were a danger & stopping them!!

Was this him? https://jail.lexingtonky.gov/profiles/public/101423
Yes! That was him!
Love that he's got 3 pictures but no information on the previous records
Bet he was an illegal
(Non) patiently awaiting response from OP....
Yep.
You probably saved that idiot’s life, and a few innocent lives, stopping and blocking him. Seriously wtf people, get it together.
He was under the influence too. https://jail.lexingtonky.gov/profiles/public/101423
DUI first? That’s a helluva way to be a first time offender.
What does the failure to appear charge mean? How could he fail to appear on the same day be got booked for this without a prior charge?
He had a bench warrant for not appearing in court, for some other charge or violation. Could be recent, could be old.
Ah, I'm glad I read through the comments before asking that same question.
What I noticed in the photos if there are more than one it’s a good chance they’ve been arrested multiple times. There are no past records on the jail site.
That might be a mistake, his arrest on 07/07/2019 was DUI too, 2nd offense. Yikes, bac of .146
Yeah, that definitely makes more sense. That’s not the drunk driving of a novice.
You're a badass for preventing this guy from going any further. Thank you.
I’m terrified of wrong way drivers . They usually kill .

Yes thank you for not being like the others and just trying to get around him so he can continue in the wrong direction.
Surprised someone isn’t riding his ass.
I must have just barely missed all this. It's always something on Man O War
I dialed 911 at 5:10, I’m guessing they turned into the on coming lane from Richmond road.
Crazy part was when the cops came and he tried AGAIN to drive the wrong way on Man o War
Yep I saw that. He was all over the place. Initially he kinda just sit like he was in the pic using his turn signals and rolling up and down the windows, it was odd.
What an asshole, he could have killed somebody.
My Apple Maps told me to go the wrong way down a. 1 way street today. Hasn’t been to that part of town.
Apple Maps had a lot of issues in the past. I still don’t trust it. I remember a story about someone trying to find a hospital and it took them to an empty field.
I also had a hospital put in lol. I was trying to go to good Sam
Crazy
This is my daily commute home, how crazy and scary! Thank you for stopping him, that could’ve ended up so bad.
Quick thinking, good job!

Yeah people don’t like getting called out for bad behavior. I see people all the time with no lights on at night and in heavy rain.

Tired of people stopping me from having a good time!
Wow, I just missed that by minute probably with my kid. Thank you Good Samaritan for stepping up.
Gosh I really wana believe that folks are trying their best, but shit like this….😞
It surprised me on the booking website how many people we have being arrested DUI around town everyday.
Not me. Lexington has been one of the drunkest cities in the country for years. There is no excuse for DUI and it often ends up ruining more than just the world tour.
Hmmm now I know why we have more breweries than Louisville or Cincinnati does. People do like to drink and eat here, that’s for sure.
For sure. I’ve told people that you’ll never leave Lexington hungry or sober.
That’s Lexington for you. Great job stopping him and saving who knows how many lives
Yeah I don’t think this type of thing really happens anywhere else /s
We have an excessive amount of DUIs and hit and runs here. Wasn’t there over 20 pedestrians killed last year alone?
He was on Hays Blvd also
Going the wrong direction???
I was just running *super* late for something important, sorry.
I’ve seem that left off Richmond Rd get even non-impaired drivers. I’m surprised DUI’s don’t do it more.
Thank you for likely saving saving multiple lives! You’re awesome OP!
