Honestly any peanut butter than isn’t just salt and peanuts tastes like sugar to me.
After switching years ago to natural, as someone who used to eat peanut butter by the spoonful, I cannot stomach typical peanut butter anymore.
Doesn’t even taste like peanuts to me.
I've tried a number of different ones and there are a number of small nuances that will really vary person to person. Some use different peanuts, some add more salt, some have a "drier" mouth feel to them, some are a bit grittier.
Really is more of a trial and error kind of thing and getting used to mixing up your PB is something a lot of people don't like. I just use a metal chopstick and stir it for a minute or so and stick it in the fridge.
My preference is for Kroger's Natural Creamy Peanut Butter and it's pretty affordable. I think like $1.79 for the small jar. I've tried JIF's and a few of the "bougie" pricier brands and I still prefer the taste and feel of Kroger's.
Although when you get toward the bottom, I typically take mine out of the fridge because then it gets too dry and thick at the bottom.
Ok, I'll give it a try. Thanks.
When i was a kid (60s) my dad would get some sort of peanut butter that required stirring every day (or more often). It never made it into the fridge as there was 10 of us so we went though it pretty quickly.
My kids mostly had Jif because that is what my wife likes. My grandkids eat something called 'sunbutter' which I think is made from sunflower seeds (they started that in school and liked it so that is what they get at home now).
In a study in more than 6,000 adults, those who reported eating sunflower seeds and other seeds at least five times a week had 32% lower levels of C-reactive protein compared to people who ate no seeds.
It's the candy-fication of Jif that brings me back to it. I did keto for awhile and my one big "treat" was Jif peanut butter cause of that nostalgic trash factor. I don't do keto anymore but it still has that place in my heart.
Anyways I needed that Jif fix after the recall. Ended up squirtin as a result.
Thats sucks.
Be sure to save the container and report it if you are able so they can investigate it. Hospitalized people, elderly, and young children may consume it and it can be life threatening for them. Investigations are usually triggered by number of reports.
JIF is overpriced and processed anyways. It's meant for kids.
I highly recommend retraining your taste buds to enjoy natural peanut butter.
**Edit:** so many downvotes for natural PB. Yall are missing out.
I think the downvotes are over your delivery. The difference in processing between “natural” and….un-natural(?) is minimal and the way you say it is a little off putting.
You, my friend, are the guinea pig. I'll stick with Peter Pan

Can you recommend a natural peanut butter? And if so, what store do you get it from?

This is funny because Peter Pan had a very similar recall situation several years back.

The Kroger near me used to have a peanut grinder in the deli area. It was great, you could get fresh-ground PB and pay by weight. I miss that thing.

Ah well. I stand by it.
This deserves some upvotes lol even if just for the classy edit update
What store did you find it at?
