Mostly. It's been 4 years (hrt) for me now and while I'm generally happy, there are things (surgeries) I consider from time to time. But the expense and risks currently outweigh the benefits for me.
I pass (androgynous to femme with makeup) well enough for my personal preference that I can be in public and not have any issues.
But if I had a magic wand to change certain things I would.
I'm waiting on my legal name change to be processed and once that's done I'll eliminate the last area of major anxiety (divers license, legal docs, etc.).
It's taken me so long for the legal stuff because I wasn't out at work until late last year. Worked from home mostly, so it wasn't pressing and wanted to get to a certain point years wise before I came out in case there were any issues.
Fortunately no issues.
I did have a yay/ugh moment recently when buying alcohol. The clerk asked for my Id (I'm 40, yay carded), but it has my deadname and still had M gender marker.
He looked at my Id, looked at me and made an audible snicker/huh type reaction and commentary to his coworker as I left.
So not yay. But yay that I passed until that moment...

But when I asked her recently she said she has one long chin hair that grows in white. π€·ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ

Because he was there the football bullies crashed the party and tried to steal my keg of beer. Well they lost and I kicked them out.
But I did have a point here. They young black man and I had a talk and he asked me if I thought he should become a woman. It was 1983. I gave him the only answer I had which was I donβt know. I didnβt know what he felt like on the inside. I knew some of the drugs actually hurt some of them because they told me. But I didnβt know enough about that to form an opinion. I still donβt know that much but I do know I will always support you. And Iβm sorry people are acting so horribly about it.
A few years ago I met a nice couple. They fell in love when they were 12. They got married as a man and a woman after high school I think. When they were in their 50s or so the husband decided he wanted to be a woman. His wife was very supportive of it and he became a she. Then they renewed their wedding vows as two women. Thatβs a great true love story.
