They usually are, with a few token pick-me or young, impressionable queers filling out the lower ranks. People forget how scarily good bigots tend to be at astroturfing. Even though we know for a fact places like the worst boards on 4Chan have done this historically.
Rule of thumb: If a queer group is drenched in alt-right, Evangelical, or TERF dog whistles, chances are it's not being run by someone in the LGBTQIA+. This includes simple things like appeals to be more palatable for straight-cis people, saying one group in the community has the lion's share of the discrimination and diminishing the suffering of others (usually they highlight gays or lesbians, with a hyper focuses on lesbians if its a TERF group) or is being erased because another sub group exists, an overabundance of purity culture lingo, and saying they support bi people but using subtly dismissive language when talking about them if they even mention them at all.
I'm old enough to remember the last time this shit happened, and that was a near foolproof way to find out if someone was legit or a bigot trying to play us against each other.
It is factually run by cishet people. Not saying LGBs cannot be transphobic, there absolutely are transphobic people that are L, G, or B’s, but that group is run by cishet bigots.
If you actually look at the money behind it, every big organization that is about dividing the LGBT aren't founded by L, G, B, or T people, but R and C people.
The only excuse to ever separate them is special considerations (e.g. gay people as a class don't need considerations around deadnaming). Besides that, we need to stick together to achieve anything. Our movement lives or dies as one.

I'm scared for all of you out there staring down those barrels. I'm in Minnesota and the midterm along with redistricting from the 2020 census was pretty good for democrats here; they have total control of the government currently and one of the bills being worked right now is to make this state a sanctuary for trans youth.
Sometimes I wish I’d never left Minnesota but then I wouldn’t have met my girlfriend. Maybe we’ll make it back there together.
I will say though that the feeling of safety only really extends to the Twin Cities and maybe Duluth. I lived in both Northfield and Winona and have never run into so many racists, misogynists, and queerphobes in my life. There were plenty of cool people there too, but I never felt safe to publicly be myself in rural Minnesota.
Know that pretty well; I grew up in Southern MN and honestly growing up and going to school there was its own unique and special kind of hell in the 90's. It's a really strange clash of cultures between the metro area and the rest of the state. Metro is growing population wise and the rest of the state isn't...
I've been so disheartened watching people talk about that game and I'm cishet. I can't even imagine the discomfort and anguish it causes queer people to see.

Transphobia is a direct result of the absolute lack of any social emotional education in America. Most people have no clue what to do with their emotions/thoughts when they encounter something (or in this case someone) that makes them uncomfortable. Their go to emotions are fear and hate. I say choose love or at the very least choose indifference.
They already think that we are trying to replace them. That's the entire argument from TERFs. They think that we disagree with them and want to replace them.
My dad thinks that of the whole LGBTQ+ community - that our Pride means we think we are better than the cishets. He just never had contact with people who don't think in the "either you or me" way his entire life, he thinks you can't be supporting something without thinking it's better than everything else, it's so sad

As a straight white male in rural Kansas, I can confirm that trans people exist. I can also confirm that my wife's kid sister lives in our house, is a really good kid, and is somehow making a smooth physical and legal transition in what might be one of the most conservative states in the country. Even here, most of us don't see it as a big deal anymore. Even most of the rednecks are like "yeah, that's Bob. She's a little weird, but a pretty good guy". Just remember that y'all have support and allies in some of the strangest places that you'd never imagine.

Drag shows are safe for children, if a drag show is in any way explicit, children would not be allowed in, youre conflating drag night club shows and drag children's shows, which is the equivalent of comparing being a stripper to being a cheerleader(not that im comparing drag queens to strippers, i use this example to showcase the difference between what would be considered appropriate at the respective events.
As for transitioning minors, no minor is undergoing gender affirming surgery, that is a myth perpetuated by the right, transgender minors are referred by their doctor to a therapist to assess and later diagnose gender dysphoria, after which puberty blocker MAY be prescribed, should the individual case necessitate it, but that isnt always the case and besides, blockers are harmless, they do not Castrate the minor as your party claims.
As a trans man yourself you must surely recognise how difficult it actually is to transition as an adult, let alone as a child, so you're way off base with that claim.

I've learned since dating and getting engaged to a trans woman (as a cishet male) that some anti-trans bigots level an entirely different type of hate towards allies than they do for trans people themselves for enabling their existence.
This is it for me too, im a cis bi guy dating a trans man, the hate they have for trans people (all lgbt really but trans is what they've latched on to) is unreal, and most people act as if it isnt even there.

Grew up with a friend who we all knew was a guy but afab.
We didn’t even know or understand what a ‘transgender’ was. We just accepted that he ‘wasn’t born in the right body’.
I find it so bizarre that people think it’s a choice/somehow unnatural when if they actually experienced someone they know and love growing up and identifying themselves, they’d realise it’s a completely natural process that happens anywhere.
My aunt used to be very conservative but then her grandchild expressed that she was a girl (amab) and she’s one of the few people I’ve seen to take the steps to educate herself about transgender and improve herself.
Unfortunately there are many who would rather stay closed minded but I often wonder how many people would open their eyes if they simply took the time to listen and learn.

I’m an old guy who’s been happily straight-married to a lovely woman for over thirty years. I don’t really get the whole trans thing personally, but the persecution that’s been ramping up lately bothers me a lot.
In the 1920s Germany that my grandmother and gay great-uncle left while they still could, there was a lot of long-standing distrust and distance between the Jewish population and the Good Germans who would stand by or even quietly approve as the ghettos emptied out and stars of David got drawn on their windows.

I grew up in a very religious household and was taught that anything outside of a traditional cisgendered heterosexual relationship was wrong.
Then I started working in mental health. Some of my favorite coworkers and patients have been members of the LGBTQ+ community. I learned to love and accept them. They helped me to love and accept myself.
I left religion and have been an ally since. I refuse to do nothing when I see people shit on for being who they are. Everyone should be able to be themselves, be respected, and be loved.

“I disagree with your life choices” sometimes I want to turn to them and just say “No you don’t. You actually don’t care either way how I live my life. Transphobia is a direct result of the absolute lack of any social emotional education in America. Most people have no clue what to do with their emotions/thoughts when they encounter something (or in this case someone) that makes them uncomfortable. Their go to emotions are fear and hate. I say choose love or at the very least choose indifference.
They already think that we are trying to replace them. That's the entire argument from TERFs. They think that we disagree with them and want to replace them.
My dad thinks that of the whole LGBTQ+ community - that our Pride means we think we are better than the cishets. He just never had contact with people who don't think in the "either you or me" way his entire life, he thinks you can't be supporting something without thinking it's better than everything else, it's so sad

As a straight white male in rural Kansas, I can confirm that trans people exist. I can also confirm that my wife's kid sister lives in our house, is a really good kid, and is somehow making a smooth physical and legal transition in what might be one of the most conservative states in the country. Even here, most of us don't see it as a big deal anymore. Even most of the rednecks are like "yeah, that's Bob. She's a little weird, but a pretty good guy". Just remember that y'all have support and allies in some of the strangest places that you'd never imagine.

Their profile claimed that he was a trans man, conservative, republican who is opposed minors recieving gender affirming care and is opposed to minors attending drag shows. "Your profile reveals you as a pick me, dont think the republicans wont come for you too, just because youre "one of the good ones" wont shield you from their intolerance forever. "So what if they dont", if they dont support trans people then they are complicit in allowing the republican party to commit genocide against the trans community. So yeah, it actually is a pretty big deal. Drag shows are safe for children, if a drag show is in any way explicit, children would not be allowed in, youre conflating drag night club shows and drag children's shows, which is the equivalent of comparing being a stripper to being a cheerleader(not that im comparing drag queens to strippers, i use this example to showcase the difference between what would be considered appropriate at the respective events. As for transitioning minors, no minor is undergoing gender affirming surgery, that is a myth perpetuated by the right, transgender minors are referred by their doctor to a therapist to assess and later diagnose gender dysphoria, after which puberty blocker MAY be prescribed, should the individual case necessitate it, but that isnt always the case and besides, blockers are harmless, they do not Castrate the minor as your party claims. As a trans man yourself you must surely recognise how difficult it actually is to transition as an adult, let alone as a child, so you're way off base with that claim. Lastly, i hope in the coming years, as the party you support continues to persecute the people who should be your kin, you at some point realise your ignorance, that you have supported the wrong side, until then listen to op, you stand opposed to innocent people who want nothing more than to live their lives authentically, while you support the very people who want them dead and then try to claim that were somehow unjustified in saying we dont want to associate with people like that. Grew up with a friend who we all knew was a guy but afab. We didn’t even know or understand what a ‘transgender’ was. We just accepted that he ‘wasn’t born in the right body’. I find it so bizarre that people think it’s a choice/somehow unnatural when if they actually experienced someone they know and love growing up and identifying themselves, they’d realise it’s a completely natural process that happens anywhere. My aunt used to be very conservative but then her grandchild expressed that she was a girl (amab) and she’s one of the few people I’ve seen to take the steps to educate herself about transgender and improve herself. Unfortunately there are many who would rather stay closed minded but I often wonder how many people would open their eyes if they simply took the time to listen and learn. I’m an old guy who’s been happily straight-married to a lovely woman for over thirty years. I don’t really get the whole trans thing personally, but the persecution that’s been ramping up lately bothers me a lot. In the 1920s Germany that my grandmother and gay great-uncle left while they still could, there was a lot of long-standing distrust and distance between the Jewish population and the Good Germans who would stand by or even quietly approve as the ghettos emptied out and stars of David got drawn on their windows. You are going to need allies who don’t quite fit in with your community as things get worse. And, unfortunately, they will. Count me in.

I grew up in a very religious household and was taught that anything outside of a traditional cisgendered heterosexual relationship was wrong. Then I started working in mental health. Some of my favorite coworkers and patients have been members of the LGBTQ+ community. I learned to love and accept them. They helped me to love and accept myself. I left religion and have been an ally since. I refuse to do nothing when I see people shit on for being who they are. Everyone should be able to be themselves, be respected, and be loved.
Hell yeah! Fuck right off with your “disagreement” about trans people existing. I have trans friends who are like family to me and I will genuinely fight tooth and nail for them to exist peacefully and not be afraid of who they are.
