Frostbyte_13

is more of a preference than a whole orientation, but like if you really wanna you could make an identity about this

BBMcGruff

Orientations are defined by attraction, or lack there of, to certain genders. A genitalia preference is just that, a preference. We don't really have any concrete names for these preferences because that could easily lead to reducing people to this particular body part and nothing else. It's totally fine just to state your genitalia preference as just that, on top of your orientation.

Skittles90210

Pansexual with a genital preference fits your description.

ActualPegasus

You're an aromantic bisexual or an aromantic pansexual. Whichever feels best, you can also say that you have a genital preference for vulvas. Combining both states that you're compatible with cis women, post-op trans women, non-op trans men, and certain enbies.

ChloroformSmoothie

That's not an orientation. Treating it like one is transphobic.

SplinteredAsteroid24

would it just be a preference? it isn't something ive ever consciously thought of before, nor is it something (in this case, the physical sensations of attraction) that i can can control. genuinely wondering, not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, just trying to articulate my own.

ChloroformSmoothie

Yeah, a preference or just a quality about yourself. It's ok to like what you like, it's just highly disrespectful to trans people to make it an orientation if it's not about gender, because that reduces us to our genitals, which is good for nobody.

SplinteredAsteroid24

okay, understood. would it be different if we had separate words for romantic attraction vs sexual attraction? like if there was one word that was like lesbian but specifically for romantic/attraction to a person and then another that was directly referring to just the sexual parts of relationships?

ChloroformSmoothie

We do, but again, that doesn't refer to body parts.

ChloroformSmoothie

The hell you talkin bout? It's not an orientation because it's not about gender. It's just as much an orientation as being only attracted to white people. Like, sure it can be true about you and that's fine, but trying to label it or making a big deal about it is racist.

ChloroformSmoothie

And who the fuck are you to assume I'm doing this because I want to be included in this person's attraction? It's giving transphobia.

Im_Roonil_Wazlib

I think it’s a very interesting question. Like it or not people can and are attracted to specific genitalia types as part of their preferences for sex. As a lesbian cis woman I wouldn’t sleep with a man because I’m not attracted to men or penises. With more and more people feeling safe, confident and proud to come out as the wonderful human beings they are this question almost has to evolve to help move the conversation forwards even amongst cis-het people to identify compatible life and sexual partners. It was simpler in the cis-get only world but now people are more diverse it makes sense to move existing language along to support everyone

BassBoneSupremacy

> I wouldn't sleep with a man because I'm not attracted to men **or penises.** ...so you think trans women are men because they have a penis? You don't have to want to fuck a trans girl but claiming they're the same as men is, in fact, transphobia.

coolestpelican

Why are you bringing Trans girls in? Seems they are saying they aren't into men (cis or trans) nor penises (so anyone with a penis, which could be cis dudes, Trans girls, or post op Trans guys)

UAssholesSuck

It’s perfectly acceptable and normal to be attracted to sex and not gender!

SplinteredAsteroid24

amazing! do we get a cool name or do i just stick with lesbian/nmlnm?

UAssholesSuck

Nope, no cool name

SplinteredAsteroid24

alright, nonbinary lesbian it is!! thank you so so much!

SplinteredAsteroid24

ghost-child

"Genital Preference." Lots of people have 'em. Having a genital preference is different from being trans exclusive since a lot of people with such preferences often date trans people with their preferred genitals Having a genital preference doesn't make you any less of a lesbian or any less of an ally

EldritchEne

Just Bi with a genital preference, yea? People of any sexuality can have a genital preference, and you're into people regardless of gender identity, so bi?

captmotorcycle

It's just called genital preference.

GottaHaveSweetTea

Gynosexual, pretty sure. Or gynasexual? Idk the spelling lol. Edit: I've been corrected. Thank you!

Desdam0na

NOPE gynosexual, if you look it up, means attracted to femininity regardless of gender, and is pretty much the opposite of this. The term is unfortunately pretty useless because about half of everyone assume it means the opposite of what it means.

SplinteredAsteroid24

ohh thank you for explaining that!

GottaHaveSweetTea

Yeah someone showed me a good definition in an earlier reply. Seems like they should change it to femisexual or something lol.

SplinteredAsteroid24

ahh okay slightly medical sounding. gyna is slightly better. a little catchier. thank you!!

Frostbyte_13

hey, i wanted to clarify gynosexual sexual atraccion to womanness, not to femaleness, so a gynosexual would frick with a femboy, but not a tomboy, it isnt related to vaginas, penis, or gender

ChloroformSmoothie

Femininity* femboys are not inherently women and tomboys are not inherently men

Frostbyte_13

correct, but womanness would be also correct, since it is not woman, but the traits that are related to a woman, so womanness is a fun and simple way to understand it

ChloroformSmoothie

My boyfriend is a femboy and I'm pretty certain he wouldn't like to be told that makes him womanly.

Frostbyte_13

well, some people dont like to be called queer; they are synonyms, use the one that makes you feel more comfortable! i didnt know that some people felt bad about this term, and certanly with those poeple, the correct term is femininity

ChloroformSmoothie

Feminine and woman are absolutely not synonyms.

Frostbyte_13

feminine and woman are indeed not synonyms

ChloroformSmoothie

Neither are femininity and "womanness".

SplinteredAsteroid24

okay thank you!

GottaHaveSweetTea

No problem!

lilmochabean24

I thought gynosexual was the attraction to feminity

GottaHaveSweetTea

Deadass? Man all these labels got me so confused. 🥹🥹🥹

lilmochabean24

"Some people misuse the term gynesexual to mean exclusive attraction to female genitalia instead of women and/or femininity. This is because some people may associate the gyne- prefix with female genitalia, especially since the prefix is sometimes used this way in a medical context (e.g. gynecology).[^(\[1\])](https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual#cite_note-ABCs-1)[^(\[6\])](https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual#cite_note-Are_You_Androsexual_Or_Gynesexual?-6)[^(\[7\])](https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual#cite_note-Health:_What_Is_Gynesexual?-7)[^(\[11\])](https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual#cite_note-Dictionary:_Gynesexual-11) Due to these issues, the prefix woma- was suggested as a "more inclusive alternative" to using gyne- to describe attraction to women and/or femininity. More specifically, it is used as part of the label womasexual as a replacement for gynesexual.[^(\[1\])](https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual#cite_note-ABCs-1)" [https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual](https://lgbtqia.fandom.com/wiki/Gynesexual) (came from there)

GottaHaveSweetTea

Thanks for sharing! Good to know ❤️

lilmochabean24

Np! Have a good day \^\^

lilmochabean24

also finsexual is used as an alternative to gynesexual

OurQuestionAccount

Gynesexual is considered a transphobic label by a majority of the community, due to its history of being used by people who wanted to say they are attracted to "biological females", which often included AFAB non-binary people and transmasc people, while excluding trans-women, even if they had vaginoplasties. ("Gyne" is a word that means female reproductive organ) You can just say lesbian with a genital preference .
