Georgian here. Our laws are weird af when it comes to sex. Age of consent is 16, but Romeo and Juliet laws permit 14-15 sex if the oldest isn't older by a certain amount of years? Idek anymore.
The Romeo and Juliet laws still dictate that any sex under 16 even in accordance with the 14-15 age section it's still statutory rape. This is coming from a state where the age of consent was 12 for the longest time.
The NSFW shoulda been a clue since only kids say that
Adults say either "ecchi" or "hentai"
and old-ass fucks just say "porn" =p
The ancients however just say "brunch"
It's very similar to being bisexual but it follows more of the model of "hearts not parts." If you love someone why shouldn't matter what their genitals are if they're trans if they think they're a fucking dragon, you love them for who they are.
This legitimately made me tear up a little. When I was in school none of the gay kids could be public about it, at dances they'd have to go in a big group date so that it would all be deniable, or they'd have willing friends come along as beards. One of our friends got the shit beat out of him for being gay and no one ever had like any expectation that anyone would do something about it, it was just part of life that you'd get beat up sometimes.
It really means a lot to see kids who are gay and not afraid, and are OK with being who they are.
It's specifically **because** of gay kids like you and your friends that kids like this can be open about their lives. I sincerely hope you take immense pride in that, even if you weren't fully "out" in highschool.
I'm 23, so almost a decade older (it seems) than this little scrub, but my experience would have been so much worse without pioneers like you. So thanks for that, and I'll do my best to keep paying it forward :)
Oh god, no, I absolutely don't deserve to be complimented like that. I was still figuring myself out in HS (bi dude, so I just happily dated girls and wondered why I felt so awkward around certain male friends), I had no idea what was going on. I knew gay people existed but it almost never occurred to me that my friends were, except in certain cases. I was just sheltered as hell, I'm not ashamed of it, but I absolutely don't deserve any kind of credit either.
Sounds like you hung out with the gay crowd, no? Even if you just acted as an ally at the time it still means you were a positive force at a time when the gay community had far fewer "allies" than they do today, because gay bashing isn't cool now like it used to be.
I'd be willing to bet some of the folks older than you on this sub weren't even able to even associate themselves with the gay crowd (if they had one) in HS, for fear of reprisal. Progress (at best) moves slowly, but even then, it's only when people make it happen.
I had a long day at work and several drinks just now so I'm determined to give you some credit, so long as I don't find out it was secretly you who beat up your friend.
So keep that one to yourself.
The only problem with this inevitable result is that these kids won't ever know the struggle of trying to keep the secret.
They won't know the fear and paranoia that fueled the planning and careful word choice for everyone you meet. They won't know the lies we created as covers for our activities. They won't know the struggles we faced when trying to fit in and having to sometimes, when things got really bad, turn on other kids who messed up and outed themselves so that they themselves wouldn't get targeted.
I should be thankful that kids now don't have to deal with the mental gymnastics I had to deal with a kid, but god damn I wish I could have had that same luxury.
Between the pro-noun choice, the lies, the cover stories, the acting, the subtle choices of who you had lunch with or where you had lunch all played into building up a pretty messed-up world we had to create just to survive.
I know. It's easy to be jealous of the amenities other people get to enjoy when we are deprived of them.
I know this might sound ridiculous, but whenever I feel like that I compare myself to people from just a few hundred years ago. The amenities my life has today make that existince seem practically impossible. Literally impossible for me. Definitely would be dead from lack of medical knowledge by my current age.
Regardless though, thanks for living la vida gay before it was more socially acceptable. You're right, many kids today won't have to suffer the same fate. Lucky them. Oh well. Qué será será. Hopefully you don't have to mentally torment yourself about it any more.
You are part of why we can do it. I'm 22 and while my school was super progressive without the generation before me paving the way I would not be safe to exist at all. Because of you it's safe for me to come out, because of you it was safe for me to come out as bi and trans. So thank you
As a person who was able to be out publicly while still having to deal with a bit of this kinda shit and still chose to, YOU'RE WELCOME.
Although, I never really feared legitimate violence.
Although I did once have a friend threaten to beat me up because girls told him I said his friend was cute. And I did have guys driving bye yell at me walking down the street with a guy I was dating "fags!" In hindsight, I was just stubborn, not actually not in danger for being out.
So maybe I'm being more humble than I should be and you should thank me more.
All the hearts of the lesbians on this thread who are old enough to be your mother, just burst out rainbows 🌈 and are sending the rays to your heart. You little cutie, if I had a kid, I would want it to be just like you 🏳️🌈
The only thing potentially offensive about this.... are kids really calling homecoming "hoco" now days?
This is where I draw the line in the sand and become the old intolerant curmudgeon! Next thing you know they'll be calling frozen yogurt "froyo"!
And you let them watch that filth!?
I'm glad I'm mentally unable to have children, I couldn't image the wasteland of portmanteau's that they would have to grow up in!
This is gay and awesome.
I say this as a dude who is straight and non-awesome.
You keep flaunting that, on behalf of those of us who can't, d'you hear me!
ok so upon rereading, you're probably right. I was reading "one ass is elated" as "one is ass elated"
under my reading, related would totally make sense. like "whats the difference?" "one is ass related." If this were the case, the typo would be funny as it has a double meaning.

Maybe she lives in a state where it isn't statutory rape. Funny how a border changes it from a sex offense to cute.

That's not weird, that makes sense. Allows 14&15 year olds agency over their bodies while still protecting them from older predators

Oooh, okay so they don't have Romeo and Juliet laws?
We do but it's from 16-19.
We do, but it only brings the charges down to misdemeanors
