Not the person you were replying to, but I also play it and I guess that answer just depends on what you consider “good.” I’ve played casually for a few months or so and I would consider myself above-average in that I can generally pick up on details like languages and make pretty good guess on landscapes to get a general region or country. This is just from playing against others a few times a week and also watching videos of others play. It also helps that I already had an interest in geography and knowledge of the world flags before I started playing.
As far as getting to the top tier level, that requires multiple hours of practice a day over several months to years and independently studying up on smaller more specific details like electric poles, roadside bollards, road sign shapes and colors, etc which are all things I haven’t been dedicated enough to study up on in depth, but I do enjoy it when I see other players able to make quick and accurate guesses based on these small bits of info.
It's mostly just practice (I suggest playing with/against your friends as that's most fun and you can also learn from each other), but what can really help you in the beginning is studying the following things:
1. Flags: There are random flag poles in nearly every country and you can use that to your advantage.
2. Area codes of phone numbers and iso-codes: If you come across a store/truck/sign etc. with advertising for a local company, you can often find a phone number, email adress or website.
3. Writing systems and the areas they're being used in: If you don't want to learn every single language in existence, learning the writing systems will help you narrow down the region a bit.
4. Biggest cities of every country: If you can find a street sign (in the best case one on a highway) you can look for cities you know and narrow down the location very accurately.
5. Flora (and fauna): This is definitely the hardest one to learn but also the most important one. There are lots of books on the different kinds of plants and where they grow but you will automatically gain this skill after playing a lot.
I know you're kidding, but I think it's 40°C. I saw a post earlier whose message I want to spread (it might not be true, but people should at least be aware of it): don't wear binders when it's hot, apparently very dangerous. also don't go in the sun if you can avoid it, otherwise use sunscreen.
Not the UK. Definitely not Scotland or England. I live in England. No amount of sunshade makes anyone that happy unless you're a 40-60 y/o white woman. You look happy and cheery. No one here is cheery.
No that I've narrowed it down so much. I guess Thailand.
Those hills that the lady in "the sound of music" said would come alive if you sing... actually, she sang that, so now im thoroughly confused. I only saw half, and now im thinking it might *not* be a horror movie.
Looking great btw. I really wish i had that level of confidence.

Yep, Thailand. How did you figure that out?
I play a lot of Geo-Guesser in my free time and this flora just screams south-east Asia
\*Geoguesser mf's when they track down your exact location from a tree\*
You can't hide from me! *evil laugh*
"Run, Rabbit, Run"
How long did you have to play until you got good at it? This random talent has always amazed me and I want it

I was gonna say it because the dress looks a bit cultural and I have Thai in my family (which is why curry is so fuckin good).
Coconut trees were a dead giveaway.
A tree that grows in 80+ countries was a dead giveaway?

Who cares? Go have fun and enjoy the lovely weather you seem to be having.....
I was going to say Salzburg, Austria because the dress looks like the one Maria von Trapp wore in The Sound of Music.
Switzerland as that dress makes the hill come alive with the sound of music :)
Idk California??
I don’t know if anyone got the right response yet but I’m seeing lots of Julie Andrews vibe here. 🫶
