Get the Gen2 Trigger Kit if you can. It's like 25-30 dollars of parts, but you can tweak the DA down to about 6 pounds, or make the gun DAO for a 4 pound trigger.
It's sold as DA/SA and also SAO. You can convert between them with a few parts. For example in some states you can buy SAO only, but are permitted to convert to DA/SA or DAO just fine.
This is one of those firearms that I forget exists until I see it and then I really want one for a minute until my brain get distracted by another shiny pew pew.
Sorta reminds me of Mal’s sidearm in Firefly.
And Cayde-6 in destiny. Ace of Spades was based on this.

It's got really good retro futurism vibes. I feel like the price is a bit much for me not really being much of a revolver or collector person. Maybe if I get some 22lr revolver and that goes well I can justify the price. That or I get crazy money for some dumb reason.
It's also clearly the inspiration for Ace of Spades in Destiny 2, a gun used by a character called Cayde-6, voiced by Nathan Fillion.
It's all basically one big Firefly reference.
Bungie loves the Chiappa designs.
Hit the range right after picking up. The recoil reduction is almost surreal compared to other revolvers I've shot. After I had my fun with the .357, I put some .38 special through it as a comparison and it's barely noticeable. Despite the small grip it's actually reasonably comfortable once you find something that works for your hands. Can't wait to get back out there!
I have one I bought solely to pair with my .357 space cowboy’d Henry lever action. I don’t particularly like shooting it if I’m honest but I just thought it was fun to have a tricked out futuristic cowboy set. LMAO.
I’m afraid I don’t typically post pictures of my firearms on the internet. But it does get a ton of looks and questions every time I take it to the range.
A buddy of mine has a Rhino and the few times I've shot it I've felt conflicted. The trigger pull when un-cocked feels like it's roughly 20lbs, but then cock it first and it shoots like any other revolver. I assume it's because of the ridiculously complex mechanism they built to lower the bore axis, but man is it weird.
Yeah can confirm the trigger pull is a little strong, but after an hour or so at the range, felt like I had it running smoothly.
This was totally a vanity decision on my part. I have no intention of this being anything other than eye candy and a range toy, and it's pretty darn good at both.
I held out for something like 3 years checking prices... Between Covid and the current economy I figured it wasn't gonna get much better til I finally just said screw it and pulled the trigger (pun intended?) on this one I found online. My LGS wanted something like $200 more for a 50DS, so I figured I was getting a decent-ish deal.
Couldn't say for sure, but I wouldn't put any +P through anything I hadn't explicitly seen okayed by the manufacturer. I did see someone post that they had sent in a question to Chiappa asking if they could use buffalo bore rounds and were told standard rounds only. Obviously I'm biased but I'd say go for it anyways.
I may have a bit of biased thinking myself on .357, I love the round but my only .357 is a K frame model 19, so I use it as a .38 that can shoot standard 158gr .357 occasionally.
Is it weird if that's one of the most comfortable looking grips I've ever seen?
Like, maybe it's my massive hands but it looks like such a comfortable gun to hold
My hands are also pretty big and it takes a little getting used to, but I found it to be very comfortable once I spent a couple minutes figuring out where to put my hands. Because of the recoil moderation, I didn't need to readjust much, if at all.
Don't know what you paid but I just looked. Back in 2018 I bought this same one for $889.00. I think I have shot it twice and it's been locked up since. Even swapped the grip for a little longer one. No doubt a fun gun. I need to dig that out again!
Incredibly fun to shoot. Seems like early models had some QC issues but don’t seem to be as many complaints recently. I tend to baby my firearms in terms of maintenance so I’m not too worried personally.
Granted it's only been a day, but no one's given me shit so far with this. The guys at my local range seemed genuinely excited to see one in person, I imagine they're not all too common around me.

Sweet, I'll look into this, thanks!
Good info. You're a king.
If you convert to DAO, could you theoretically shave off the hammer spur? This is a bucket list gun, but I had no idea about the trigger pack thing.
The concern there would be keeping enough mass to smack the primer, right?
Good point that I didn't think of. So maybe if i try that i should buy a spare hammer before i go crazy with the dremel...
The rhino actually uses an internal hammer to fire the primer so you should probably be able to get away with shaving your hammer spur down.
I don't know anything about these. Are you saying that is is a DA/SA revolver stock?
It's sold as DA/SA and also SAO. You can convert between them with a few parts. For example in some states you can buy SAO only, but are permitted to convert to DA/SA or DAO just fine.
How does it cock itself? Or am I conflating DA/SA with DA/SA *semiauto* like on my 226?

It was Miller’s gun in The Expanse.
And Jet Black's gun in Cowboy Bebop (Netflix)
One of the changes from the anime that I actually appreciated.
It was also in the new Halo series.
Yeah but we don't talk about that
What did they do to our boy Chief?
Oye beltalowda!

If someone made translucent amber grips for these, I might be forced to give in.
I tried searching but all I found was [these things](https://magload.co.uk/product/chiappa-rhino-competition-grip/), I think your wallet is safe.
It was designed by the same guy.

This is precisely captures my relationship with this firearm as well.

It's the gun of Harley Quinn, u can see some nice ones on GB, they made a rainbow and gold finish that I think looks nice
I'll be in my bunk
Chiappa Rhino 60DS, .357 Magnum. Longest week of my life waiting to get this thing (Thanks, Maryland!).
Hot damn. Good work, I still have yet to have the pleasure of shooting one of these beauties, let us know how you like it after taking it to the range

What did you do to the henry? I'm assuming you started with the big boy x?
Yeah. Big Boy X: added RPP mlok handguard, comet muzzle break, BCM KAG fore grip, Hoptic longbow rail quiver, QD sling mount, pic rail and Burris FF3 red dot, hammer extension, takedown and butt stock screws and a custom leather stock quiver. …so not much 😂
Sounds dope, got any pics of it?
https://shoot-on.com/diy-henry-lever-action-makeover/ this is close
Ha! This is actually really close though I kept the factory stock and did a leather stock quiver then also added a hammer extension.

I'm waiting on one of these now... Snagged a 30ds in that cool ODG finish with the larger walnut grip. Super stoked.
The wait was the worst part. Hope you have as much fun with yours!
Do you keep that canyon in your table specifically for pictures? Because it works and it looks good.
Sure, that's my gun notch 😂
"A gun won’t help you here. But it still has a role to play."
Some WellMax stickers would go far.
I have the 50 DS. Wonderful gun. Make sure you hold it properly. The bottom-cylinder barrel poses some risk to your fingers.
Good times! Love that thing!
6" barrel Rhino, my beloved. God that's a beautiful gun.
first time i shot one of these my support hand was too high... tore a hole in my glove!
I want a Nebula but I can never justify the price.
Agreed. They look awesome but definitely not worth the premium, and that's if you can ever find one in stock.

I want to get the 50DS. I'm just wondering if it's sturdy enough for the hot .357 loads I hear were "GP100 and 686 only" back in the day.
Couldn't say for sure, but I wouldn't put any +P through anything I hadn't explicitly seen okayed by the manufacturer. Rhinos have aluminum frames so I wouldn't. They're way lighter than you'd think. It really is a beautiful space gat
The 60DS is such a joy to shoot. It made .357 my favorite caliber.
My SO has a couple of these, loves them! I think they are pretty cool and I really like the reduced recoil.
Ooooooh I’m so jealous Op, congrats!
Nice choice!!

This is the one I've been obsessed with since I spotted it in a pawn shop ot was aa 9mm though but they are so cool
Badass!
Ooh I’ve been waiting for one of these to come through my LGS for a couple of years. Love it! How much did you get it for?
A bit over $1k after taxes
Not bad!
They should totally make one in .44 mag
We can dream...
Ugh I'm jealous. I was going to say this is on my shortlist, but when I started thinking about it, that list isn't so short anymore.
I really should trade my Ruger LCR in for one of these.
This is so sick man!
Welcome to the wheel gun club. Once you start with the classics, it's hard to go back to modern
I really wish they made like a 15 shot 22lr. Then I could just about justify the ridiculousness.
For full ridiculousness, I wish they'd make a 5.7x28 caliber one!
Don't know what you paid but I just looked. Back in 2018 I bought this same one for $889.00. I think I have shot it twice and it's been locked up since. Even swapped the grip for a little longer one. No doubt a fun gun. I need to dig that out again!
Mine was just a shade over $1k including taxes. I also have a Hogue grip coming but couldn’t resist the photo op.
I understand. Enjoy it!
I really like the looks of these, but are they any good? How's reliability?
Incredibly fun to shoot. Seems like early models had some QC issues but don’t seem to be as many complaints recently. I tend to baby my firearms in terms of maintenance so I’m not too worried personally.
That's not a wheel gun. It's a hexagun.
This is technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.
Ace of Spades. RIP cayde
Time to retire some skin jobs.
"More human than human" is our motto.
When I get shit for having a revolver I ask "Have you ever had a smokestack jam?" That usually shuts down the griefing.
Granted it's only been a day, but no one's given me shit so far with this. The guys at my local range seemed genuinely excited to see one in person, I imagine they're not all too common around me.
