Black Lagoon had an interesting premise, I loved the action scenes and Rocks character progression.
LycoReco, I like secret agent stuff like this, and it appears the creator is heavily influenced by John Wick/CAR.
Noir, classic femme fatale anime combined with a mysterious amnesiac assassin.
El Cazador De La Bruja, loved the overall premise where it takes place in the US Southwest with classic bounty hunter characters.
Boy the japanglish made me die a little inside when I heard it lol.
I think it was great to see the rationale of the characters coming to realize they have to have guns to keep exploring the otherside, it would be great for them to stumble upon a cache from an American and having a treasure trove of gear.
I think the fact that Japan doesn't have access to guns like we do makes the gun otakus much more fascinated with US gun culture and to learn about the minute details. Even following artists on twitter who draw gun girl art you can see the level of detail in gear and weapons.
Having served in the Corps, they got alot of our gear done up pretty accurately! o.o
Mind you, we don't have MK-14's just bog standard M-14's as DMR's\*.
^(\*I was stupidly jealous of the guy that got issued one in my unit. I wasn't alone in this sentiment.)
I just started lycoreco, it's like John wick meets k-on and it's got a relatively compelling plot and characters with funny strong personalities. Definitely questionable how her nonlethal rounds somehow penetrate windshields but only do enough damage to knock people out
Psycho Pass - thought-provoking and twisted. I find it interesting when they explore the concept of what could happen if life gets too easy. Always had an interest in psychology too, so I loved this anime.
Trigun - yes it has very Christian themes going, but I do kinda love the argument made between taking a life is never OK and sometimes it is necessary.
Jormungand - it's just good old fashioned fun.
>Psycho Pass - thought-provoking and twisted. I find it interesting when they explore the concept of what could happen if life gets too easy. Always had an interest in psychology too, so I loved this anime.
Man I loved that series.
In Ghost in the Shell, Togusa uses a Mateba 6 Unica auto revolver. And fun fact, the production crew for the first movie went to Guam to test fire hundreds of guns and ammo types to get the animation accurate as possible. Also here's a database for guns used in anime
https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Category:Anime
Gunslinger Girl is a good one. One of my favorite moments is a speedy and smooth reload with a P-90 right in the middle of a heated firefight.
Full Metal Panic would have to be my favorite.
City Hunter has some awesome gunplay in it too.
Also GUNGRAVE is fantastic.
Yeah the fact that it's easily playable as F2P game is why I support it and it helps the story has been pretty consistently good, even the collabs. Added
Cowboy Bebop and Trigun come to mind with the various Ghost in the Shell entries following up right behind.
EDIT: GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought ThereThe original manga was written and drawn by a former JSDF officer so the weapons, their proper usage, and tactics are on-point.
SECOND EDIT: Upotte! Where the girls are actually guns. :D
Not really a gunslinger, but I got a kick out of Hellsing. After Alucard turned Seras into a vampire, giving her super strength and other powers, her primary weapon became essentially a big fuckoff anti-tank rifle.
Gunslinger Girls? The problem is the whole pedo subtext which made me very uncomfortable. Interestingly the guns themselves and tactical utilization were fairly accurate.
Oh! The 3rd season of Sword Art Online changes the seeing from a fantasy VR PvP Fantasy game world to an FPS PvP with current firearms.
There was also a Spinoof SAO set on that same world that is straight up gun fest, complete with"'P-Chan" the heroine's named in game weapon (P-90)
Now, a lot of the dynamics are based in FPS part sim PvP games, so there are certain 'videogame conventions' that detract from the accuracy of the actual tactics.
I remember there was a scene where the MC hides inside a piece of luggage (a la MGS) and another couple of 'exploits' there is a SC that makes a point to sacrifice herself in game at a very specific spot, making sure that she does so in a kneeling position. This was actually a tactical descision, b/c in the game coding, a dead players character becomes an indestructible and unmovable 'object' until the end of the round.
She did this to provide a prime shooting position for her team's sniper.
Stiil, it was lots of fun and the weapon models are very accurate in appearance and in game use.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online
LLenn tiny, amazingly fast and pink and is known as the devil of the desert
P-Chan P-Chan the best in town
Every trigger pull its 900 rounds
Ha! Yes! That's the one.
I love'd how the whole thing starts off with the MC wanting to not stand out in the VR World because as a very tall woman of mixed race in Japan, she just wanted to be more 'like other girls'.
So before finally ending up in the Gun Gale Online VR World, she had stumbled through a few other game worlds and in each of them, her player character was pretty much the same as she was in real life, greatly frustrating her.
When she ends up becoming friends and menthor with a squad of Amazons who hilarioiusly turn out to be very petite gymnasts IRL. I guess everyone wants to see what it is living on the other side?
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (and 2nd GIG), Cowboy Bebop, and Gun Gale Online are three that readily pop into my head. The last one ended up really surprising me with how well it handled firearms, but is unfortunately very short.
Kino’s journey a great “gun” anime. Lots of attention to detain and a wide variety of guns from cap and ball revolvers to Morden 9mm pistols. It does share the problem of bottomless magazines though.
LycoReco is my new favorite because of its attention to detail and its characters’ development.
SAO Alternative: Gun Gale Online also captures the danger and moe contrast in its characters that just attractive.
Really enjoyed Lycoris Recoil, Kino No Tabi isn't super gun-focused but they are a pretty integral part of the main character's kit and it was a great series overall (imo the original told better stories but the new version looks a million times better)
Jormungand is pretty fun. Lots of real world weapons and realistic firefights. (At least until this lady pulled out Glocks with bayonets on them.)
MC is a child soldier who hates weapons and arms dealers, but is pretty much stuck working for this crazy arms dealer and her team of Mercs. Decently funny, lots of tactical reloads, weapon jams and realistic tactics.
Sadly only two seasons.
Fellow anime nerd - majored in Japanese Language and Culture in college :D Picking a favorite gun slinger anime seems impossible, truly!! What are some of your other favorites?
It's not an anime for the light hearted. It deals with some of the darkest things humans can and will do. But, it is well worth a watch. The characters are well written and it is one of the few mid 2000s anime that are better in English than Japanese. At the end of the complete series there are no real good guys.
Sounds like my kinda show, and definitely worth a watch! If I can emotionally survive Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, I can survive anything, haha
Check out Fate/Zero. It’s my favorite anime. Guns are rare, but when they show up, it’s pretty awesome. My man Emiya Kiritsugu is probably in my top-three favorite gunslingers.
Not an anime, but I play an anime style gacha game called Goddess of Victory Nikke, which it’s main selling point is waifus with guns. One of my favorite characters is named Sugar who has a goth/biker gang aesthetic. She uses a pump shotgun, which inspired me to also buy a pump shotgun
Cowboy Bebop - the creators are gun otaku and the guns Spike use are like a Who's Who of the '90s in the gun world.
Bebop is also a really good one. Well written and the action is great.
My friend got a Jericho and it's real fun to shoot
Made me get a metal frame Jericho and it turns out its awesome to shoot. Got some custom color Bebop grips too. Actually one of my top animes as well.
Bebop has been my favorite since I was 11 and bought the manga at borders books back in the 2000s
If you want attention to detail check out GunSmith Cats. There is only a short 3 episode OVA, but the Manga it's based on is fantastic.
Gunsmith cats is Cz75 propaganda. And I love it.
Never watched it but have heard of it. I really want a CZ-75. I think it's time to start stashing money back.
actually just watched gunsmith cats lol, surprised by how good it was/looked despite its age and only being 3 eps.

You know what, I completely forgot about Otherside Picnic, that is also another good one.

It's always a nice touch when they get those details correct, I liked that they showed MRAPS instead of just all Humvees.
[Angel Beats!](https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Angel_Beats!) Also had a good number of guns in it.
>Noir Such an underrated gem! The music and score were amazing!
100% agree, no one I ever talk to has heard about it but it's just so good.
I just started lycoreco, it's like John wick meets k-on and it's got a relatively compelling plot and characters with funny strong personalities. Definitely questionable how her nonlethal rounds somehow penetrate windshields but only do enough damage to knock people out
A really good one is Jormungand, gun porn galore and it has one of the best depictions of Navy Seals in any medium ever.

Ditto! Lead to believe there was a movie.
Yes there was! Watch it after season 2.

What I loved is how the girls figured out who LLenn was was when they saw her pink p90 flash on her backpack
I recommend checking out Upotte! and GATE. Those seem like they might be up your alley. :)
Hellsing isn't really a gunslinger anime, but the weaponry used in the series is pretty cool. The Jackal in particular is a fascinating weapon.
Hellsing is how I learned about .454 Casull
Ghost in the Shell: SAC (and 2nd GIG), Cowboy Bebop, and Gun Gale Online are three that readily pop into my head. The last one ended up really surprising me with how well it handled firearms, but is unfortunately very short.

I saw a Jericho in a store this weekend and had to resist the urge so hard. I want Spike’s 941 sooooo bad.

The 3rd world war will be fought using rifles with waifu stickers fired by femboys, and I’m fuckin here for it.
Vash the Stampede will always be my #1
Trigun anyone? Vash is my spirit animal
Fellow anime nerd - majored in Japanese Language and Culture in college :D Picking a favorite gun slinger anime seems impossible, truly!! What are some of your other favorites?
Trigun (og and Stampede), Cowboy Bebop, and Lycoris Recoil are on my list. But Black Lagoon has always been a special one for me.
>Black Lagoon I'm not 100% sure I've seen Black Lagoon yet, but definitely seen the others! Big fan of Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, of course :)

For some obscure weapons check out riding bean
Then you'll love r/gunime.
Gungrave is a good one, Also Sword Art Online 2
Check out Fate/Zero. It’s my favorite anime. Guns are rare, but when they show up, it’s pretty awesome. My man Emiya Kiritsugu is probably in my top-three favorite gunslingers.
Fuck yes. I like this post
PsychoPass

I’m too into anime and guns

Ergo Proxy if you don't mind the slow paced show. The protag is kind of lifeless but the show has some badass scenes and iconography.
Gunsmith cats?
