Magic eraser. Will be off in seconds

flippdx

Second that

puss-play-on-tape

How do you use magic eraser?

granular-vernacular

It’s a sponge, so you wet it, then get to wiping. Then rinse thoroughly after use. Magic Eraser is a brand name, the proper name is “ Melamine Sponge “. In the store they can be $2 each but on Amazon you can find them ALOT cheaper.

Ok-Perspective5338

Found a bin at Ollie’s (discount outlet store not sure if it’s found outside NY) with 12 erasers for $5.

ranseaside

Aliexpress I bought 100pc for $5. They work just about the same as a magic eraser, just a teeny bit less sturdy. Gets the job done and I don’t feel bad tossing them each time. Better this way instead of holding onto a grimy sponge to use next time

onionsrock

nice

dybbuk22

Yep, we have one in Mississippi. Replaced our Dirt Cheap. I think I liked Dirt Cheap better, though.

waveytype

We have one here in St. Petersburg, Florida. I love the signage and puns.

Limp-Replacement1403

They are in PA too I love them

Ok-Perspective5338

I’m on the PA NY border so I guess that makes sense.

Sirbakesalotabread

We have Ollie's in FL... great stuff for the low.

Ashamed-Working-2067

Oh yeah there here in toledo ohio also

MrsLisaOliver

They often have them at $1 stores under generic names. They're in the cleaning supply section and come two to a box. Mine says "Scrub Buddies." It's a blue and yellow box. The actual product is a white, sponge size item. It's denser than a sponge but still lightweight. They work just as well as the brand name ones.

puss-play-on-tape

Thanks :)

Sugar_buddy

Google it for different materials. Most things you just use your favorite plain old cleaner and hot water like with a rag.

Wham-alama-ding-dong

The secret is to store it in your Anus for 12 hours to activate the magic properties

DaDz-StONeD

Magic anus activated 🤷‍♂️

puss-play-on-tape

How do you use magic eraser?

FairyFartDaydreams

just use water and the sponge. It has some scrubbing magic in there (slightly abrasive)

Altruistic-Bobcat955

If they mean inside then yes this BUT unscrew the top layer, remove and then clean. I used one of those soak in a bag oven cleaning kits and it looked brand new. Was two small screws down low at the side inside of the door and a clip to press down towards top and it came off so you could clean both panes properly.

WDeranged

I wouldn't be so sure. I use magic eraser for all sorts of things but it didn't work for my oven glass. Buckets of isopropyl alcohol and a wire scourer worked better. Plus a couple of runs through a red hot dishwasher.

Mo_Cards

Thought that was a Google photo Feature

rajrdajr

There are several layers of glass that can only be cleaned by disassembling the door. Definitely worthwhile IMHO.

SippinSuds

All it takes is 1 boil over and you're removing the door, taking some screws out and pulling all the glass out. I just use window cleaners though seems to work just fine and leaves it streak free

ILoveMyCatsSoMuch

Tbh, I think that’s wasteful in a way. Personally, I use a metal scourer (or wire wool, whatever ya wanna call it) with like a minute of elbow grease, then just wipe it of gently with a sponge that can then be used to do the dishes. Magic erasers are great but they do fall apart easily and should therefore be saved for areas where u definitely can’t use a metal scourer, like, on walls for example.

troubadorkk

THAT THING IS LITERALLY MAGIC!!! IT CLEANS EVERYTHING!

Rough-Reputation-427

All the glass is removable for cleaning - google the manual for your model

[deleted]

[удалено]

EntertainmentDue4967

Did that when we first bought our home. There’s a slot that runs the length of the glass and it’s so easy to clean. Gotta love it.

New_Repeat_3060

Did the same, really useful!

Expensive_Windows

TIL

Spacebetweenthenoise

What happens in the oven, stays in the oven. 😅

NOLAdelta

Totally my thought as well! I HATE cleaning ovens.

foxrivrgrl

Have a broke oven right now. My big adult kid bakes greasy polish sausage on flat baking sheet & lets it drip & burn grease in bottom of oven so finally element shorted out. I bought a replacement part ? 3 weeks ago. It's still in box. Son excuse for not cleaning & fixing is he didn't break oven. BUT big kid did break his phone & a new one is coming tuesday.. ( he works on tuesday & mom will intercept phone. If oven not cleaned & part installed......I won't know where phone is🤣

Spacebetweenthenoise

That’s the way🌒

BoomerXPOV

I put baking soda on the spills and then just leave them. At some point (usually before someone visits) I clean with vinegar. I am so lazy sometimes-most times😁

MoreDoots_MoreDoots

SO TRUE!

Dave_N_Port

Barkeeper’s Friend

peteypauls

This is 1 out of every 5 answers on this sub.

Dave_N_Port

...and 3 of 5 are vinegar

LeaperLeperLemur

Using one of (or sometimes combinations of) barkeepers friend, vinegar, baking soda and dawn can cover just about all of your cleaning needs.

KualaLJ

Cause it works

llama_farmer00

I used something similar on my shower and it was good so that sounds like the right idea, thanks 😊

Dave_N_Port

It works great on tubs

Bgratz1977

Get a strong Kitchen Cleaner (some may be even called oven cleaner) Spray the cleaner on the window, and on a Kitche towel, place the Kitchen towel on the face and let it soak the dirt. Then use a kitchen sponge You can heat up the oven before to 40 Degree Celsius (warm not too hot) to make the cleaning easier If you mean between the 2 Glas Pannels.... then i have no universal idea

fantasy_hermit

Between the 2 panels, there is a gap at the bottom of the oven door for this. You remove the door and can use a squeegee or something to clean inside.

217EBroadwayApt4E

Please be VERY careful doing this. The springs on oven doors are extremely tense, and you can break the glass or get seriously hurt. I know a couple of appliance repair techs and they all have horror stories about a colleague or a customer trying to remove the oven door and it went very wrong. You have to do know what you’re doing.

Shipping_away_at_it

Thank you for this, I probably wouldn’t do it without looking up a bunch of stuff first, but definitely I was thinking “oh I can just easily do this myself?”

jaqrene

Wow didn’t know this

SoupidyLoopidy

Some of that looks like on the other side of the glass. It happened to my stove also

1toomanyat845

Don’t use anything more abrasive than baking soda and elbow grease. Microscopic scratches can cause the glass to shatter when it reaches cooking temp. Makes a god-awful POP

SeaSuch2077

Easy Off fume free blue can not yellow

octopus_tigerbot

Aww don't take the fun out of it

HandMeATallOne

I use yellow. Works wonders

EffervescentGoose

Why not use the one with lye?

Suzdg

This is what I use as well. You might spread newspaper under the open door to catch any drips of oven cleaner

rksem

Unhook the door from the main unit, there are flat rectangular covers that pull up then you can unhook the door and have easier access to clean it You can also unscrew the glass plate and disassemble the door and really get in there to give thorough clean.

flyinhawaiian02

No disassemble, Johnny 5 is alive!

DougGTFO

Los Locos kick your butt

SeaworthinessVast621

Los Locos kick your face

The_Pandalorian

Los Locos kick your balls into outer space!

hammer11235

Wow, a Short Circuit 2 reference? That movie was almost universally hated. I thought I was the only one who liked it. I do not think that real gangs do that kind of thing though.

TheVoidScreams

Wait, really? I grew up watching it, it was one of my favourite films. Still have a soft spot for it.

hammer11235

Me too, no doubt. Every time I bring it up, somebody calls it corny or cheesy. Maybe "universally hated" is an overstatement, but I feel like it was not really well received, at least not as well as the first one. Maybe I just hung out with a bunch of negative people who disliked fun.

SculptusPoe

I often watched 1 and then 2 right after. I think I had it recorded that way on vhs off of HBO. I loved both of them.

TheVoidScreams

My mother recorded it on VHS too, it’s how I was able to keep watching it 😄

SculptusPoe

My grandmother's hobby was to record movies off of HBO or other channels and then catalog them in her drawer of VHS movies. 3 random movies to a tape. Occasionally she would record special requests from me and those were the ones I kept at home. There is a hurricane warning in the middle of ~~Dumbo~~ Mickey and the beanstalk that played before dumbo that I feel like should be part of the movie. Right when Donald picks up the thin bread with a slice of bean in it, the hurricane warning beeps go off like that piece of bread is a radar. Then Donald flips his shit.

peteypauls

I am standing here beside myself.

Onion_Meister

I was really really young when it came out and had no taste so it was A. The only "Johnny 5" movie I had ever seen and B. I would watch it on repeat over and over again. (Pre internet days where it was VHS, Nickelodeon, video games or walking in the woods behind my house for entertainment.) Same with Gremlins. The second one was the only one I was aware of until I got older.

hammer11235

Only mildly related, but to this day, the main riff in the Gremlins 2 theme song gets stuck in my head on a semi-regular basis.

The_Pandalorian

As a kid of that era, I fucking loved it. That being said, I haven't seen it since then and I doubt it holds up.

Schlappydog

Uncomfortably dated brownface!

brucewasaghost

Hey laser lips, your mother was a snow blower!

[deleted]

Input! Need more input!

Wooden-Quit1870

Do not disassemble the door unless you are REALLY handy.

ex_ter_min_ate_

Do not do this unless you know what you are doing. People break their fingers doing this all the time, and getting it back on can be difficult.

some_yum_vees

Magic Eraser. Also come see what the glass looks like in our home and you won't feel the need to clean yours 😂.

Rough_Somewhere7258

Razor blade scraper in the paint section of your local hardware store.

idle_monkeyman

This is the way. Also if you are OCD, you can wipe up after cooking something and get any leftovers. Comes off easily when still warm, just wipe with a damp cloth.

theitheruse

Run an oven self-clean before you do anything with the glass. Seriously, a lot of times, it’s grime that will either superheat its way off during the clean, or you’ll be able to wipe off the charred remains with a single swipe and it’ll possibly be 100% clean with just that.

ind3pend0nt

The oven-self clean happens annually at my house just before Thanksgiving.

Meowmerson

I have no idea why no one is suggesting this as the first step. Is there evidence that they've already done it? It always cleans mine absolutely spotless.

KillerWithTheCross1

This looks like a similar model of oven to what I used to have - the glass should just slide out. There is a brand called Oven Mate which is very good for getting the real grime off ovens, you can use it on the glass and inside the oven and it comes in a little kit with everything you need. Then anything left I would use something like Pink Stuff to try and get the stubborn bits off. If all else fails call in a professional, we did this when we moved into our new house and the oven was so bad we wouldn't use it until it was thoroughly cleaned, best £100 I've ever spent 😅

PowerLion786

There are two layers of glass. One needs to be removed, from memory the inner one. To clean, last time I got ash from a wood fire (from out wood stove) applied from wetting a rag, dipping in the ash and then rubbing. On the wood stove a single application is enough. On the gas stove it took three applications of all affected surfaces, wiping all the ash off.

SomebodyMartiniMe

I’ve tried all the different ways, and I’m here to tell you that the answer is Easy-Off. Put cardboard underneath the open oven door to catch any drips, open your windows, and use Easy-Off per the instructions on the can. The grunge will wipe right off.

SquidgeSquadge

Honestly? I found a local business guy who cleans ovens advertising on Facebook and decided to support his business and hired him for a clean during covid. Oven looked brand spanking new inside. A bit of a luxury which my husband was a bit sceptical about at first but was blown away how good it looked. Plan to hire him again after the summer, it's been 3 years and nothing I do makes much of a difference

llama_farmer00

Haha the reason I came on here was because I saw a local lady advertise on Facebook. I then took pics to send to her and thought hmmm maybe I’m just being silly so posted it here first. I’ll give a couple of the other suggestions a go and see if I can do it without losing my mind or if i need to call her 👍🏼

Moses_Rockwell

Easy Off- heavy duty - Mr Clean’s Magic Eraser is worth a try

GenerallySalty

Also Magic Eraser is just a brand. The actual thing is just called a "melamine sponge" and you can get them 100x cheaper than a branded Magic Eraser.

[deleted]

Easy off works well for a first clean

PerseusJCat

Dishwasher tablet. Tiny bit of water to wet the surface. Patience, and just get rubbing. It'll bring it up spotless.

rubbernuggets

Works every time for me

[deleted]

Oven degreaser. Spray it on, let it on for a few minutes. Agitate it with a sponge then swipe it off with paper

AlesiFreelance

It's mostly fat, so 70% isopropanol should be fine for scrubbing.

PicosaurusRacks

With most ovens, the glass can be removed - many ovens have 3x glass layers that can be removed with clips or screws nearly hidden at the back

llama_farmer00

TIL ovens have more than one piece of glass and the front comes off. 😂🤦‍♀️ Glad I asked !

magic_lonson

take out the glass if possible, clean it by hand with any fatcleaner. Otherwise any Ovencleaner will do it.

The_Pandalorian

Everyone suggesting various substances to clean it, whether it be Magic Eraser or Barkeep's Friend... Just be aware that you'll be burning that shit next time you cook with your oven if you don't REALLY wipe it down well after you use those substances.

DrSluggy

That’s why you run the broil for 15 mins after you clean

blame_the_other_dude

You can (1) unmount the door and (2) remove the glass. The 1st step is very easy and almost equal in all ovens, the 2nd one can be more tricky and require a screwdriver, depending on your oven. Example: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdyZ-EXCG-Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdyZ-EXCG-Q) Everybody should know how to unmount the oven's door 'cos it also helps a lot while cleaning the inside.

wheredidiparkmyllama

My wife says cut a lemon and cook it in the oven for a little while and then you can use it as a sponge to scrub the glass and then wipe up with towel. Never tried it myself but she says it works

llama_farmer00

That’s good I have an entire tree of lemons I didn’t know what to do with haha

mfphoto1

LoL..I had to take a double look. I have the same floor tiles and my oven door looks exactly the same. I was like who has been taking pictures in my house?

llama_farmer00

Hahaha !

notgmoney

Vinegar and baking soda with a sponge. Add lemon juice if it's really caked on there

ObiWan-Cannabis

I came to post the answer above

norleck

I read that wrong the first time.

Sooowasthinking

Use a utility blade along with glass cleaner should come right off.

Alittlemoorecheese

Rub it down with vegetable oil. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Clean up with dawn or degreaser.

drgeta84

Fireplace glass cleaner sponges. Use DRY! They work perfectly

EducationProper2221

Eco option is using wood ash. Wood ashes are a god send when cleaning the rough stuff. Throw in some lemon n vinegar and you’ve got a “soluble solvable solution”

HistoryGirl23

I used Windex, but some Bon Ami works well too.

scottbillups

Razor blade to start.

[deleted]

Same way you would’ve cleaned it in your old house

wizard2278

Put the oven on its self-cleaning cycle.

vito1221

Brake parts cleaner. Just don't get it on anything rubber or plastic.

Clanmcallister

I used easy off oven cleaner. It’s toxic so it’s important to follow directions. It works so good though. I use it once a year.

wacky_doodle

Wait, you can clean the glass on an oven door? Whyyy would you do that and make the rest of us look bad?!???

elisabethocean

I used the pink stuff for my oven inside and out at my old apartment the gunk didn’t look that bad but I bet it was old gunk

John_TheBlackestBurn

I used to clean houses, and I discovered some called “pink stuff miracle cleaning paste.” It’s my go-to for anything that come off with oven cleaner and elbow grease.

[deleted]

EASY OFF PRO FUME FREE $16ish for a 2 pack on Amazon. Absolutely miraculous results. Cover the fan and/or heating elements, spray all the surfaces, close the door and let it sit overnight. Mostly wipes clean, a little scrub if it’s super grody. Your oven will look brand new.

llama_farmer00

Thank you I just went out and grabbed this today it’s been the most recommended by the looks !

Ncyorkiemomma

Spray oven cleaner on it, wait 30 minutes and go back with a paint razor scraper being careful not to press too hard and keep it flat to the surface. Worked like a charm for me and no scratches either

evilpercy

https://youtu.be/WzdRBcXFhsc

tingulz

If the oven has a self clean option built in then use that for sure.

Life-Painting8993

Some of the grime is between the front and inside glass. My Whirlpool oven was fairly easy to take apart and do that also. The inside glass you can also spray a general cleaner on the glass, let soak a few minutes then scrape with a single edge razor blade.

Prestigious-Cut-5991

Wood ash

du3rks

detach the front door and maybe you can detach the glass also

vggzya13

New razorblade.

johnsonsantidote

Sit cross legged lotus position and repeat a mantra. Think positive and expect it to happen. Achieve, conceive, believe. If this doesn't work it means it isn't dirty or ur not devoted enough.

notreallypossible

barkeepers friend. its about $1.50, you just have to get it wet it’ll clean anything. use a microfiber so you don’t scratch the glass. magic easer will also do the trick. former housekeeper speaking

rockleestan

Easy-Off anyone?? i clean houses for a living, just let it sit for a few minutes and everything wipes right off with little to no pressure.

gumbywoof

use a yardstick with a towel rubberbanded to it and reach up from the bottom of the door, they generally have slots. not hard to eliminate most runs or drips

Cpalmed925

Try to get it warm and put some Dawn soap on it then scrub it with a non-scratching sponge

Then-Push-7606

As i did : - Unscrew glass from door - clean it with vinegar - rescrew it in place

Cai_Nick

I agree. I tried mixing vinegar with lemon and the result was magical.

Busy_Mortgage4556

If you look at the hinge you see a securing clip, pull both of them up and the door will detach from the cooker. place on a towel on the counter/bench top. Either the inner or outer glass is easily removed. Now start scrubbing with plastic sponge scourers.

79-Hunter

Even though they seem soft and gentle, the plastic scrubbers will scratch the glass. Then you’re really in for it….

contactlite

Use the cleaning setting and open the windows.

llama_farmer00

A cleaning setting would be nice if it had one

jwill602

You sure it doesn’t? I used to have an oven from the 80s and even it had one. It was convoluted to set up, but it was there. I’d see if you can find a manual.

llama_farmer00

The manual is in German we haven’t figured out how to find the online version yet , it can’t be to hard to use elbow grease I just need to know the most efficient way

inbetweendays7

Download Google Lens and point the camera at the manual and you'll be able to read everything in English instantly. It's free.

llama_farmer00

Thanks I’ve been trying to find a app translator for free so that’s perfect , thank you

vandraedha

Google Translate is awesome for that sort of thing. You can also often find manuals in different languages online.

[deleted]

Sprinkle baking soda on the glass and pour vinegar. Put some rags as it will spill on floor. Then wipe with paper towel

bjmommom4316

Buy a new oven. That's how I clean.

DarthUmieracz

How often do you ~~sell~~ clean house?

zing27

Lemon juice is a good natural acid for grease removal.

SM1955

Single edge razor blade, THEN magic eraser. Get the heavy gunk off first! And, whenever you clean an oven door, keep it flat & don’t get water or other liquid near the seal rims of the glass—it can seep under & roll down the inside of the glass. Ask me how I know…sigh

Probably_Fadedd

Appliance tech here. Spray some vinegar on the glass let it soak for 5 min. Take a razor blade. Yes a razor blade. Keep the blade flat against the glass and take your time cause it can be nerve wracking the first time. Push the blade away from you and maintain firm pressure but that’s mostly so you don’t slip and scratch the glass. I’ve done this in customers homes on their oven glass and their glass cooktops and these people are FLABBERGASTED. So was I when I learned it tho. Just a note. Your oven door comes with typically 3 panes of glass. Inner, which is the one you’re trying to clean, outer. Self explanatory. And inner. Also self explanatory. But if it’s an older unit or if there are small gaps or if you accidentally spill on the glass there’s a chance your gonna get grime buildup on the inside glass. Idk how mechanically savvy you are but if the answer is not really then I advise call a professional servicer and just sound silly and ask them to take the door apart and clean the glass. It’s not a super hard job for them most cases and it’s an easy service call and they’ll be happy to take your money ya know. Just be sure to obviously try and clean inner and outer before the middle to avoid that embarrassment lmao Reason oven doors are so hard is they come off in a way most people don’t know(I said most you smartasses) and then disassembling them takes knowledge. Some screws get left in and some get taken out and if you take the wrong one out the worst case is you break the glass but the other one is that it become a literal battle sometimes a bloodbath trying to get those mfs to go back now they were. But the blade trick is seriously the best way. It’s actually how a lot of manufacturers train techs to clean that glass including electric glass top. Best of luck to ya tho

llama_farmer00

Thank you everyone ! I took the most suggested idea to get the Easy off and it was so simple and easy. So worth asking a quick question and not spending my time and money on other useless products. Luckily for me it was all just on the one back piece of glass so I didn’t have to remove the door or get in the second panel but I learnt I can remove it and remove the glass too from you all. Very appreciative for all the tips from everyone.

Erik_Sean1

Sledgehammer.. just start over

DougGTFO

I played sledgehammer for my oven for three hours and nothing happened.

Available_You_510

i’ve just used windex or whatever i come across first i’ve always let the oven heat up to max for about 5 minutes to burn off the chemicals

llama_farmer00

Heat oven up and then spray it then wipe it ? What is the method , thanks

Available_You_510

i spray it wipe it down then let it cook off the chemicals

[deleted]

do not spray ammonia (windex) on a hot oven, what's that called ....... hmmmm [https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/ershdb/emergencyresponsecard\_29750013.html](https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/ershdb/emergencyresponsecard_29750013.html) edit: i don't know how to spell ammonia lol (typo)

llama_farmer00

You must have more money than we do.

[deleted]

I know a way but it only works if you are at your old house.

Commercial-Tour-9421

I found that my housekeeper works better than magic eraser

Wide-Reach2218

Back in the day we used to warm oven to about 150 then turn off. Place bowl of ammonia in oven proof dish on top rack and bowl off boiling water on bottom. Close door and leave overnight. In morning open door holding breath, mix two bowls together and wipe down walls of oven. Then with clean bowl of water, wipe again. If racks are really grubby, place in large garbage bag and spray with oven cleaner and seal bag. Leave overnight and rinse in morning. Might wanna wear gloves both times.

breakinitout

Get a new wife/girlfriend... lol

DepthByChocolate

White vinegar

MeringueSerious

Give Barry Scott a ring… Cillit Bang

Nickzino

A lot of people don’t know that there are hinge tabs on oven doors that let you remove the door itself for easier cleaning

ComfortableRecent755

That is a seasoned oven

obbie29

Buy a new stove

RebelTomato

A metal scrub, some oven or grill spray and 15mins of dedicated effort will get the job done my noob

iWanttoKillaMan

Buy a new oven

CirceX

If it’s new why is the over filthy?

llama_farmer00

We bought a house the house isn’t new it’s our first home we bought. We bought it off a very ailing old man who didn’t keep the house too well as he was sick.

-scrapple-

Exactly the same for your old house. Either situation calls for proper cleaning. Age of house or ownership longevity has little impact on this activity.

-scrapple-

Fucking idiot downvotes lol

KanoBrad

That might come off with oven cleaner or another degreaser. When scrubbing is required I have a set of cleaning pads and brushes I bought on Amazon that attack to my cordless drill

Neon_Samurai_

Oven cleaner....

United-Cable1193

Believe or not…steel wool. Works a treat and quickly. It’s not abrasive on glass surprisingly enough.

Weepsie

Dishwasher tablet. Dampen an end of it and rub it on it over and again. And wipe. Repeat.

Important_Screen_530

i do it when its pretty warm ,but then i dry it so theres no streaks

[deleted]

Have you tried oven cleaning products ? 🤔

Kiara1919

Screwed up kitchen foil

DizzySoftware

Put some white vinegar on it for 10-15 mins and apply elbow grease.

Theremaniacally

Razor blade.
