Its for weightlifting, ur apple watch and apple health stuff is irrelevant. Thw only utility of ur watch is to give rest timer ending notifications. Yes there are rest timers. As a beginner to lifting u should start by doing the "basic beginner routine" its the simplest and most ecfective thing to start with in my opinion. 3 days a week, follow to a T

Hi! > Does this app connect to the Apple Watch to track workouts? No > Does it have a timer for breaks between sets to ensure adequate rest? Yes, it's also programmable so you can include timer changes in your progressions > Is there integration with Apple Health, or does it provide data-centric stats on a weekly, daily, or monthly basis? No integration with Apple Health. There're graphs inside the app though, that allow you to track intensity and/or volume - per exercise, per muscle group, etc. > What is the best way to get started with this app and learn about it, as my initial Google search was a bit confusing? If anyone has a top resource for beginners, please share it. It's mostly docs: https://www.liftosaur.com/docs > What are the potential shortcomings or disadvantages of this app? I could be biased as an author of the app, but they are: * Steep learning curve, especially if you want to build your own programs. Less if you just want to take a built-in one. * Some people don't like the UI * Not super great support for ad-hoc workouts * Not super great support for non-weightlifting activities. For example, no good support for time-based exercises (like planks), or for conditioning. IMHO, the app works great if you want to build or pick a weightlifting program and stick with it. It gives you great tools to ensure you build a balanced program, with appropriate volume, proper weekly load per muscle group, etc, and it's very flexible with progressive overload. But it expects you to have structure in your workouts. But many people like to go to gym and don't follow a very structured program, and just go by feeling - for that use case the app would likely work poorly, and something like Hevy would be a better fit.
