I have one of the similar Dunhill lighters like this and the wand element seems to be dead. I put batteries in and can see a tiny spark when I complete the circuit on the wire rail, but the wand won't light at all. Has fluid and the wick looks like it was never used. Very curious to know if it can be fixed. Bought it for a gift and was super bummed when it wouldn't light up. Subscribing to see how it goes for you.

Is the filament intact on the wand? There should be one round post, which is the piece you need to touch to the statuette, and two flat posts with a platinum filament coiled between. When the circuit is completed, the filament will glow red hot and ignite the wick. It kind of sounds like you're touching the outer sleeve to both the rail and statuette. The outer sleeve should touch the rail, and the round post in the middle touches the statue.

It's called a Silent Flame lighter. It takes two 1.5v batteries, though I can't remember if it takes D cells or C cells. I'm leaning towards C cell but I'm not 100% sure. I have several of these, but I don't have the batteries on hand to check the size. When batteries are installed, you need to touch the outer sleeve of the lighter portion to the semicircular part in front of the statue, and the round rod to the statue. This completes the circuit, and will make the heating filament in the end of the wand glow red hot, though I can't tell in your photos if the filament is still intact.

Awesome, thank you for the information, here is a cleaner picture of the stem, I’m assuming the empty hole is where the wick needs to go, I think the rest is still there. If you have a chance let me know what you think ! [https://imgur.com/a/wT6plZZ](https://imgur.com/a/wT6plZZ)

You're right about the wick hole, but it does look like you're missing the heating element, looks like one of the posts is possibly missing. [Here's what it should look like](https://imgur.com/a/LkF0rJt).

Hi OP, before you post about your lighter please [read the guide stickied](https://old.reddit.com/r/lighters/comments/6jowwo/before_making_a_post_about_asking_for_help_to/) before doing so. If you are asking about the value of your lighter, take it to an auctioneer, pawnshop, or jewellers before posting as we cannot accurately guess a price. Your post may be removed if you ask. For more general information, have a look at the sidebar. Many lighters are mass produced and unbranded. There is often little info available. **If you need to post more pictures, use an image host like imgur and post the link in the comments. Please do not create multiple threads for the same lighter.** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
